Return/refund issue

Last April I bought a B-Hyve sprinkler controller made by Orbit from the Ace Hardware store in Littleton, CO for $100. 2 months later it stopped working. I spent 4 days trying to contact Orbit to get a replacement. No one answered the phone. They do not have an email address. The live technical support is no longer available. Chat requests went unanswered. I finally gave up and took the controller back to the Ace Hardware store and requested a replacement or refund. They refused since the time limit (30 days) had expired. After 5 minutes of trying to explain my problem to the store manager, I gave up and went to Home Depot to buy another one, something I should have done in the first place. Obviously, I will never go back to another Ace Hardware store.

Incredibly rude treatment

I went in the Ace Hardware in Oro Valley AZ today and was shocked at the way the people working there acted, from the guy who I had to ask to help me, to the checkout woman. I've been in that store several times in the past and the staff was always friendly and helpful, but today that was far from the case. The woman at the checkout looked at me like she hated me after I said hello, and she didn't bother to respond. She coldly asked if I was a member, and even rude in the way she acted toward me in spite of my friendliness, yet the young guy before me and the one after me were treated with friendliness and respect. I can only think it was because I'm 73, but doing something like that just because she doesn't like older white men is inexcusable. I will NEVER do business with Ace Hardware again. I can see now why they're shutting down stores. The irony of it is I could have bought the same item cheaper on eBay.

Fell at an Ace Hardware in leesburg fl…

Fell at an Ace Hardware in leesburg fl in Feb of 2023 and they have said they were paying bills but here it is 6/20/23 and not one bill has been paid. Their insurance adjuster keeps stalling and is very hard to work with … will not provide me a copy of fall video unless I sue. Causing undue hardship on my elderly husband and myself. My providers want their money. The insurance adjuster admits she had only called my hospital provider 2 times since February and the wait times were too long. I have pictures of uneven sidewalk/parking lot. Hole. I flew into a pallet with dirt bags which was too close to parking lot. This is an awful way to treat the elderly!

NO Customer Service Period

On 5/22/23 I purchased a GE Universal remote to control my Vizio TV it would not set up or work the TV, today I went to return the remote for credit and was told I could not return it because I had opened the package. I told the clerk if I did not open it, I would never know if it would work or not. I was rather shocked to see that an Ace Hardware store would not credit me for the remote that I purchased that would not do what I bought it to do. He also told me I did not read the directions correctly; I told him the directions were inside the package I had to open it to get them. I told the man that I would never buy anything else from that store. He went on to tell me he could not resale it because it had been opened, he said he would lose money and must just throw it away, I told him that was what I was going to have to do. He said if I went to Best Buy and bought something and opened it, they would not take it back. I went on to tell him this was America and most retailers will allow you to return merchandise for a refund. That is just common-sense customer service. At the end of our disagreement regarding the return he told to get out of his store, The price with tax was $9.23 it is a sad day when a store owner would pretty much run a customer off and loose future business over $9.23. At the wire.

With dinner on the grill I ran out of propane. My back up tank wouldn’t work so two minutes before closing I slid into Westport Mass Ace. They were pulling in their signs and finishing a last customer when I appeared. No problem.

My Ace Hardware is awesome!

There seems to be many bad reviews here but I have to say that I love my neighborhood Ace Hardware store in Macomb Twp., Michigan. I have had extremely good help every time I go there! Like I am royalty or something! It really is amazing, and they really know their stuff. Guess I just won’t use their website. But if people would get off their butts and actually go to the stores to shop, we wouldn’t have so many stores closing or having a lack of good employees.

I stopped going to Ace hardware two years because of employees at local store wear their opinion in the open . I broke my rule and visited the local Ace only to find nothing has changed.. Wow

Drove to store itwm not there

Drove to store, website said item was in stock, got to store worker says they don't have any. That's my gripe, please update your website properly and stop wasting my gas.

Ace hardware in Talladega Al

The one in Talladega Al has a large knowledgeable staff friendly, and Johnny on the spot ready to help you find everything you need. What they don't have in stock can be ordered and be there soon.

Worst customer service online shopping - sent wrong item and did not fix or refund

They sent the wrong item - and would not honor a refund or replacement - I sent pictures they acknowledged was the wrong item. They do not have a method for exceptions to their return policy - I shop online a lot and will NEVER use their online again - buyer beware!
If you try and escalate to manager they put you on hold and have you wait for a callback that never happens. One of the customer service agents when I requested manager just kept talking and then hung up - it wasn't a heated conversation - seemed like he was at the end of his shift.
Worst customer call center ever.

Worst experience ever

Worst experience ever, purchased a lawnmower never received any shipping info called customer service got lied to at least 3 different occasions then I called a 4th time and canceled the purchase and immediately after that I received a notification saying my order is ready for pick up. After that I called the pickup location and they said no item has been delivered for me and they accidentally sent me the item was ready for pickup notification. After that I kept receiving emails saying my item is on its way regardless of the rep I spoke to saying that he canceled the order. To this very minute they are still sending me notifications on an item I canceled. Last thing I sent them was their own return policy because they are obviously unaware of their own policies. This should be especially easy for them to understand because I never received the item nor has the local store! Stay away from Ace online their awful at best!!

to cover warranty on a 3.5m vacuum that I purchased which is 3 months old they said that to claim I required a policy number that they sent me by email which I did not receive, when I said to them well if you sent it you should be able to find it in your records that you sent it to me, as usual all as i got was blank looks and no one wanted to know this company are dishonest and are ripping people off i would advise to stay well clear because when things go wrong you will get know answers

Never Again

I thought they sold Sherwin Williams, they do not. It was Sunday & I did not know if any other places were open. The paint rep told me they could make any of SW colors, upon telling him what I wanted he told me they could not make that one. The $72 can I received was rusted as if it had been outside for 10 years. 3 days later I had everything ready to paint, when I opened the can I realized it was not completely closed (thankfully it didn’t spill in my car). The paint was a huge clump that could not be stirred. When I spent part of my day off work going back to the store to get a new can. Did the mgr (Maurice) or the same paint rep even say they were sorry for the inconvenience, no. I was offered a replacement but they were out of the upgraded bathroom paint I originally bought so I had to downgrade, again without as much as a verbal apology. Then I had to use 3 coats to get decent coverage with the low quality paint.

I entered the store and was jumped on…

I entered the store and was jumped on by a fairly large dog. Having been in an accident last year my balance right now is not good. The dog made me lose my balance and took the wind out of me when its front paws hit my stomach. I was really freaked out! When I mentioned this to the cashier all she commented was that the dog occasionally did this. I am appalled and will not visit the store again.

I'm speaking for Ace hardware in Castle Dale. Utah.

I'm speaking for Ace hardware In Castle Dale Utah. There always helpful and so nice. I've been here 5 years now and never had an issue with anyone or anything at Ace. I've always been treated like they've known me forever. Always helpful and I've never even had an issue with returns. Which I only returned it because I got the wrong kind but still, no issue at all. And any promotion or add sale that I've got, Ace has always backed it 100 percent. The people that work here are truly good people. My boyfriend and I recommend them to anyone.
