Brooklyn particularly absolutely lovely, helpful and friendly but all the guys there are wonderful, my garden compactor broke, took it back, was mended in minutes and was given an extra week free hire as I hadn't completed task during my annual leave from work and needed my son to lift it into my car! We hired a digger to prepare the ground to lay a drive and found it to be a problem free experience. Lots of advice from the company and prompt delivery. The digger worked well and was in good condition. Overall very happy.

Hired a hedge strimmer as been wanting to sort garden out for a while. From start to finish experience with this company was great:) had no issues whatsoever with using the product as was all explained to me upon delivery. Was also noticeably cheaper than other companies. Would definitely use again:)

As a buyer for over 20 years in construction, Advance Tool Hire offers the best service and price of any hire company i have ever used. Staff are very knowledgeable and always available to offer advice on tooling, plant and materials. They also accommodate delivery dates and times that we request.

I also personally use Advance for any DIY requirements and I can honestly say i would highly recommend this company for both personal and business!

There should be an option where I shouldn't be able to select a star after the experience I have had with this company.

This company from the start was never honest. They don't specify prices clearly when you request for a total amount. The prices on the website are different to what they finally rob you off. When I called several times for the tools to be collected they would never collect. It would be one excuse after another until they finally find a reason to overcharge you.

They take your card details and continuously take payments without even telling you. Again, it's a very scummy thieving thing to do.

At the beginning, I made the mistake to go with this company without reading previous reviews. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone.

The quality of their tools are rubbish, the overall service and customer experience has been absolutely awful.

I would personally recommend for anyone reading this to AVOID this company at all costs and to go to Frank Key for tool hire instead.

Please if you are reading this, AVOID THIS COMPANY for any tool hiring!!!!! After explaining to them the type of rotavator I needed they delivered me a rotavator completely unfit for purpose it barely scratched the top of a relatively soft soil despite my full efforts and previous experience in using rotavators. Over the phone they were very shady and unhelpful and refused to refund my money, they even threatened to call the police on me. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!

Here was me thinking I was going to be a little unfair to this company after my experience today. Imagine my surprise when I see they have 100% BAD reviews. Motto of story, check Trustpilot BEFORE you contract with them.
Had a carpet cleaner from them. It was filthy on collection. Had a tutorial and nice man carried to my car.
Fast forward 24 hours, I have sodden carpets. Not noticeably cleaner, but very much wetter.
Took video of 'cleaner' in action and complained when I took it back.
Guess what? It was probably MY fault. My fault it leaked. My fault it flooded the carpets. My fault it didn't extract the water again. Even took videos but no, it was my fault apparently.
90% extraction rate I was told.
For each 2 tanks of water applied - 1/4 tank extracted. For your information that is 12% not 90%.
Their remedy (after taking £30 payment) was - hire another machine.
Yeah, right.

I went on line to hire a rotavator this company advertised it at £40 per day, so I ordered. The guy asked me for £100 deposit which I paid. O n the day I had to call 3 times as it was late. Then when it arrived it did not work and the guy had no tools. after a while we got it going did the job and had to call them 4 times to collect it. I then asked about my refund they said it would take about 3 days. to my horror the £40 quote was now £83.94, When I asked about the extra cost they said someone should have told me about delivery charges ect. I find this company are real con merchants and would advise people not to go there but use a respectable hire company. For me never again, learn the lesson read the reviews.

Absolutely awful company! Wish I’d read the reviews before going here! I hired a floor sander to give my wood flooring a neat finish so I could paint on top. I showed the workers a photo of my floor and was advised it would make my floor smooth to paint. I used the sander and it didn’t work on one part of my floor, so I used another sanding sheet and it wrecked another part of my floor! Upon advising them this and sending photos on Monday, and being assured I’d get a call back, I had had no call back by the Friday. Called on the Friday to be advised there is nothing wrong with their sander and it’s not their fault I didn’t get the result I wanted. I advised the result I wanted was the result they assured it’d give, and they advised it’s essentially not their problem. Worse customer service ever! They charged me for the sander, sanding sheets and dust bag, no discount whatsoever. I’ve now had to go and buy laminate floor to over up my wrecked splintered flooring!

After ignoring the 100% BAD reports Advance Tool Hire have finally decided to reply. 1 review is from 2017 and they have just replied today, 4 YEARS after the incident !!! A joke, they can't possibly recall the incident after so much time.

I have to wholeheartedly agree with the previous review of 2 years ago. I mirror everything the lady said. I hired a dumper truck and a digger. I spent all day chasing delivery and when the guy delivered the dumper he just handed me the key even though I had told the guy on the phone I had never used one before. I told the delivery driver this so he gave me a quick run over the controls, he was in and out in just over 4 minutes. I was given no paperwork, either hire documentation or any safety instructions. At the time of hiring the company were using T&C's that belonged to a trade organisation that they did not belong to. I had an accident, turned the dumper over and had a very narrow escape and ended up at A&E having a head wound treated. Over the next couple of days I acquired safety operating instructions which clearly indicated that the way I had been operating the dumper was in fact very dangerous. It was inevitable that the dumper would have turned over at some point but had I been given proper safety documentation my accident would never have happened. When I contacted the company to inform them of the accident no one could be bothered to call me to check how I was. This company are only interested in getting as much money off their customers as they can.

It is totally unbelievable that this company has taken almost 2 YEARS to post any kind of response. First of all the claim that "Safety instructions on how to use the machine are in a tube that is attached to the machine" is JUST NOT TRUE, well in 2019 it wasn't. Secondly,"We were unaware that the operator was unexperienced in using a dumper and we offered instruction on site of the controls to the machine" is also totally untrue. I made it clear that I had never operated a dumper during my initial enquiry and was told "no problem, it was quite easy". I had been chasing the delivery of the dumper all day and when the guy dropped it off he wasn't interested in providing any instructions whatsoever. It wasn't until I actually said "are you not going to show me how to drive this" that he then gave me a training lesson which lasted for 10 minutes at the most. Thirdly they were well aware that I had to go to A&E, they were told this at the same time they were informed of the accident.

I started a claim through the courts and realising that they didn't really have a leg to stand on Advance tool Hire settled out of court by returning the £1000 they took from me to cover damage to the dumper. They got off lightly, I should have claimed more.

If i could have given less than one star I would have!! Its The worst company i have ever come across. We hired a mini digger which was supposed to arrive for the friday for weekend hire, asked the company to let me know when it would becoming that morning was advised lunchtime called after lunch time was told it was on its way!! Was it eckk it turned up at 8pm friday night so we had waited in all day had the day off work for it to turn up when they felt like it. Had no fuel in either. It then got collected after I had rang the company numerous time and again asked if they could call so i could make sure I was in for the collection had no call there either! Dont think they know how to use a telephone but THEN i got told someone would ring about the £500 deposit they make you pay to get it back no one rang AGAIN so i had to ring them and was told i would get an invoice posted out still have no invoice 2 weeks on and they took out alot more money than quoted and when ringing he said ill look into it and ring you back.. guess what still no phone call!! i will be contacting trading standards about this company and how i get the extra money back they took!! I would steer well clear of these Arrogant people!!

NO it was not stated that it would be a late drop off and NO it did not arrive full of fuel ready for use. Top points for remembering this phone call though after all of this time. Laughable arrogant man! And it was 100% 8PM it was delivered so don’t try lying your way out bad review after bad review shows what your company is!! A SHAMBLES!!
