POOR SERVICE from MANDY at TAMPA terminal

Rented a car through Priceline with Advantage. I get to Tampa with my son and go to get the car and the lady at the counter was sooooo Rude! Then she tries to add on every additional fee. She (Mandy) of the Tampa terminal, says i cant turn the car in that I designated because it does not match my flight itinerary???? she said I have to change my flight to stay another day... I was like you are crazy. Then we got into it and she says, get this "I didn't put the bombs on the plane"???I was like are you kidding me? why would you say a stupid thing like that. anyway i canceled the reservation and got my $ back from Priceline. I WILL NEVER USE ADVANTAGE AGAIN!!!!! HORRIBLE SERVICE AND DECEITFUL BUSINESS PRACTICES!

What a rip off.! I added a driver when I picked up the car. It was a fairly bog standard saloon , not in great condition and ended up costing me $600!!!! for a weeks rental. I recently rented a car in Portugal and it only cost me about $100!!!!

Beware: Charges Will Double At Pickup

I have always rented cars through Hotwire and never had a problem regardless of the state/airport/location. I never had to pay an extra penny. 7 days x $14.64/day was $102.45. The Taxes and fees was $96.38 for a total of $198.83. When I got into the PHX at about 10PM, I had to pay additional fees almost as much as I paid for the rental. Hotwire says taxes and fees were paid, so why the additional charge? This is my first and last time to rent from advantage.

Danforth and Victoria Park location

Danforth and Victoria Park location.
They gave me a compact civic when I had rented a KIA intermediate with no apologies or decent customer service. The car was completely frozen, and had the hubcaps missing. I returned for the correct vehicle (which had no windshield washer fluid in it) and they tried to change my contact without telling me to a limited km, when I paid for unlimited, which they changed when I told them to, but I did not notice that they had snuck in the insurance that I told them I did not want until I was returning the car.
Just returned the car and checked to see that they charged me an extra $80.00 for no reason. Now trying to deal with customer service again.

Bad service

Very bad service, it seemed like a serious company, but I was wrong, the worst experience, for me after an hour Late they charged me twice the price but when I rented the car I asked the one who attended me and told me that it could take me up to three hours that they only charged me 10 dollars per hour but in the end they charged me double, and when I complained they told me that if I don't think there are other places to rent cars I perished very aggressively on their part and I really hope not use them again those cars for the bad service

I agree w/most other reviewers here

I agree w/most other reviewers here - BAD EXPERIENCE! The people at the counter in Las Vegas are so rude and have a "I could care less" attitude. I asked to speak to a mgr. about problems w/the car, and he made me wait over 1/2 hour before he came to counter with no one there checking out a car. I wandered thru the parking lot only to find him chatting w/another counter rep in the parking lot screwing off. He treated me with total disdain and complete disrespect. The car had issues like the tire light coming on as well as other problems. I won't rent from them again. Their customer service reps on the 1-800 line are just as bad. They talk down to you like you're a piece of garbage there to serve them and disrespectful to customers who drop a lot of money. Find somewhere else to rent from and save yourself the nightmare.

Very deceptive tactics

Very deceptive tactic process at the counter. They twist words around so they can charge you insurance without consent. They say, "would you like to add insurance or stick with basic?" So most people using a credit card that provides car rental insurance would decline the insurance offered by the car rental company. So I said, no thanks, just the basic rental. At the end of the rental, they charged me the "basic insurance" and insisted that I agreed to it. DECEPTIVE!

It's a horrible experience!!

It's a horrible experience!!! We rented the car in Las Vegas and drove to Arizona and Utah to visit national parks. Not to mention that it's old model and DIESEL only (more expensive for gas and inconvenient), the heater in the car is not working! We were driving in snow condition without heater. I had to wear down jacket, hat, mask and gloves in the car to keep myself warm. It was 20 degree outside and probably the same in the car. Couldn't feel my legs after one hour driving. Worst car rental experience I've ever had!

Another great experience!

We just bought our 6th vehicle from Advantage Chevrolet in Countryside. Another great experience! Salesperson Rick C is terrific, very polite and knowledge on all the vehicles. Financing with Dennis R was a breeze. We'll certainly be back for our next new car.

Predatory business practices

Predatory business practices. The agent lied to me saying I needed to purchase insurance which I did not need. Do not book with this company. You will pay way more than originally quoted.

Terrible service

I ordered a seven-seater minivan for out-of-town guests. I was very specific when I booked the minivan. Upon arrival to collect the minivan, I was given a car exactly OPPOSITE OF WHAT I HAD ORDERED, and told my guests could climb over the seats to sit in the smaller seats in the trunk area. Not at all what I had ordered. Ruined everything. Totally do not recommend this company!

Very happy with experience

I was quickly helped tho the line was long @ MCO, given my keys and on my way. I opted for the alliance full coverage when booking with car rental.com and still came in 100.00 less than the competition.
I was not overcharged and only paid exactly what was quoted.
Very happy with my experience.

Rented a car in Vegas.I received an email stating it would cost $273.50. When I got home I got an email saying they charged me $481.11. The agent charged me for road side assistance, which I didn't ask for. They also charged me for insurance, which I told them I didn't want at the time I picked up my car in Vegas. When I called customer service, they wouldn't let me talk to a supervisor. I email corporate, they don't get back to you either.Iv'e read other reviews, this seems to be the norm with this company. I would never use Advantage again and will let as many people as I can know this.

Beware of this company

Beware of this company. The price you book at is not the price you end up paying. We pre booked our rental @ £265.13 but ended up paying more than double. We elected to pay for a full tank of petrol so expected an extra amount there however the agent at Orlando airport advised us that no toll booths accept cash so propelled us into taking their prepaid package, which we did but this was a LIE as ALL tolls have a cash line, the amount per day of $9.99 is exorbitant as most tolls were around the $1.75. There were also a myriad of extra charges that he failed to tell us about or show us(such as concession fee,RSP, CFC etc) by cleverly folding the paperwork & not showing the computer screen to us., we only found out about the final amount when our credit card bill came through. This is an absolute disgusting way to cheat customers especially as on the brochure it states " the car you reserved at the price you were quoted " yeah right! DON'T BOOK WITH ADVANTAGE!

High fees at the counter, dirty and smelly car, poor customer service

I paid $240.02 for a car hire (incl. collision damage waiver)(Houston Airport) for 2 days, the same service would have cost me $152.60 with a better company like Hertz.
The car interior was clean but had an extreme smell of tobacco, I had to drive with the windows down for the first 15 minutes of every drive. The car exterior was not washed, it was dirty and the front full of bugs. When I told the attendant that the car was dirty and smelly, he said "what do you want me to do about it" as if he didn't work there!!!
A BIG MISTAKE, next time I'll hire from one of the larger international companies!

Just got back from Las Vegas

Just got back from Las Vegas. We waited almost an hour for rental car which was a Chevy Malibu which had a unhinged front fender on passenger side. It was the only car they had. So we left with it. The next day we were driving to the strip and the tire pressure light lit for tire on front passenger side which we stopped to fill up. Warning light went off. After dinner and our show, light went back on, same tire. To make a long story short, this happened 4 times during our rental time. We called customer service on Thursday and were told to bring the car back to the airport to be switched out or put the emergency spare on. We choose to do neither because our plans for the next day did not involve driving this car. We filled it on our way to the airport on Saturday morning. The fellow who checked us in for Advantage suggest we speak with the manager inside. When a young woman came out to speak with us, I could tell by her eyes that she had already dismissed us. We didn’t want money back, just wanted her to know that the car has a problem with the tire and probably also needs a front end alignment because it shimmied all the time also. Her response to us was “With all the construction going on you probably picked up something in the tire. And because you didn’t pay for insurance there is nothing I can do.” We are done with Advantage.

Poor maintenance

I rented a vehicle at the Houston airport on October 10, the contract number is IAHEZ-22255. On the second day, the vehicle had failures, including the switching of the check engine light. In addition, the vehicle could not exceed 20 mph. In the call to the office, they told me that I should take the vehicle to the place where I rented it, since I was relatively close, about five miles. At no time were I given the option of trying to get to me in a safe way or send me a tow truck or a new car, although I told them that the vehicle was not in a condition to be driven. In total, it took me about half an hour to get to the rental place in the Houston Airport, in a journey where I felt in danger, since there were sectors where there were vehicles that were going more than 70 miles per hour. There was even a climb in which the vehicle looked like it would not reach the top.
Upon arriving at the offices in Houston, I was never offered an apology, even though I spoke with three different people. Nobody offered me compensation or apology and even one of the operators told me that since I had no insurance coverage purchased directly from E-Z in order to send me a tow truck, I should have paid $ 500.
When I was offered a new vehicle, the rate had risen from $ 112 to $ 163. I let the person know that there was a mistake and after acknowledging it they gave me the contract again for $ 112. All this without having received an apology.
The new vehicle, another Hyundai Accent, gave me problems again the next day, Sunday, October 13, when the tire sensor light came on in the morning. Since I was very far from the office where I rented the vehicle, I decided to put the air on the tires myself. After that, the sensor light went out. However, on the morning of Monday, October 14, the tire sensor light was turned on again. After realizing that the tires seemed in good condition, I decided to continue to the airport office and deliver the car.
All this experience gave me an important lesson, never to rent a vehicle with EZ, because it is clear that maintenance standards are not rigorous and that simply with an EZ vehicle you run the risk of a mechanical failure that may have consequences even fatal to the user.
