Scam....attenzione...stay away from this airline!!

Total rip off. I tried multiple times to check in online and despite buying a better seat( the transaction went thru)it would not complete the check in transaction. So i go to the desk at the airport to pick up a boarding card and they tell me that i have to pay 35 euro to do the check in at the desk or basically you cannot leave. Another 3 or 4 foreign passengers next to me had the same problem.
Amazing that in order to gain a few extra euros a company would take advantage of customers by denying them online check in so tbe can collect a fee at the airport.
I will NEVER fly this airline again

Be careful of check in times

Be careful of check in times, 3 hours before boarding minimum if you want to avoid an extra 25 euro fee to print your boarding pass. The website doesn't make this very clear unless you read very, very carefully.

1 hour and 20 minutes to get our luggage

Very rude staff. It took an hour and 20 minutes to get our luggage which made us miss our next flights. When I tried to look for their office in the airport, they told me that there is no manger on site. Don’t recommended!!!!

Avoid it

Avoid it. Very old planes. Nothing works properly, very hot inside people were sick because of the heat. But they still didn’t get us water free off charge. Ventilation was broken so no fresh air.. flight was delayed, but we were siting in the hot plane for an hour.

No service, no refund!

Flight cancelled – no service, no refund!

Flight XZ2015 Rome – Milan Bergamo 10. Apr was delayed and then cancelled. Had to get a ITA flight and a train to Bergamo (paid €251). Aeroitalia only willing to refund their ticket price (€109). That's not according to the flight rights customers have!

Aeroitalia is not answering calls nor mails. I will need to use one of those flight rights service providers to get my €250, but this will cost me the fee they charge!

So, Aeroitalia costed me money and provided no service, no excuse, even hung up my call twice!!!

Worst airline ever

The worst airline I have ever been on and I have been travelling for 35 years. They moved our flight to a later time which would have made us missed our flight back home (internationally) and then refused to reimburse us. When we asked them to change the time to an earlier flight for that same day, they wanted to charge us 350 euros for 2 passengers one-way! They also moved our departure time at a later time from FCO-CTA saying there were technical problems but when we got to FCO airport, we found out that there were flights leaving for the original time that we booked our flight for! We had to purchase one-way tickets for 2 going back to FCO from Catania so we won´t miss our flight back to Iceland even though we had a round-trip ticket with them. We never got reimbursement, no apologies....nothing. Never......ever....book with Aeroitalia. Not if you value your time and money.

I wish I had read these reviews before…

I wish I had read these reviews before booking a one way flight with these bandits. Buyer beware, you pay for everything and some. When attempting to check in online before the flight the message stated that to do so will cost you 15 euros as opposed to checking in at the counter for free. Not the case...and after speaking with the staff at the check in desk who I will refer to as dontgiveacrap1 and dontcareitscompanypolicy2, had to stump up another 50 euro for the privilege of checking in. The one way flight of an hour ended up costing us hand over fist. Never again.

Flight cancelled but still no refund!

Booked return flight from Southend to Milan in January 24 for this new route by Aeroitalia due to start flying in March 24. In February Aeoritalia advised me that the flights were cancelled (in fact the route was not flying at all) they offered me alternative flights or refund. I claimed refund using the correct form on 26th February this was acknowledged. I have since asked them for a timescale for the refund they ignored that bit of the email and just said it was approved for refund.....still nothing.

Fraud practices and total lack of any customer support

Wanna checkin online evening before flight but website tells checkin without additional costs is only avaible at the counter. Next day at the counter they tells checkin on counter is not possible without additional costs of 50 Euro / 2 Pax. I told them the situation, he told us he knows about the problem but cannot do anything except the advise to send the confirmation of the payment to the customer service.

We did that but in three weeks no answer and even on the hotline nobody reachable.

Definitely a no-go...or no-fly.

Just like most others here, I have a bad experience with Aeroitalia

I can only agree with all the other people below who have complained about Aeroitalia. The same thing happened to me. I received a message that my flight was cancelled with an option to request a refund. I did that, and then two weeks later, when I had already made alternative travel arrangements, I received another e-mail that there was an error in the system and the flight was not cancelled after all. This did not matter to me obviously. Since then I have been waiting for any sign of life following my refund request. No response so far and nobody answers their customer service phone number.
I can only hope Aeroitalia reads these pledges from frustrated customers and steps up to their game to improve customer service.

This airline is fradulent

This airline is fradulent. I booked a flight that then cancelled and offered a refund. I submitted multiple forms for a refund and called but no one answered. They have not provided a refund or responded. Avoid at all costs!

Definitely stay away from this airline

Definitely stay away from this airline. As other people mentioned, they canceled my flight and I immediately applied for a refund; 3 weeks later, I still have not received it. I tried calling (an international call) and while it said I was first in line, after 15 minutes, they disconnected me. An automated support email said an agent would contact soon; I've followed up several times and no response. So frustrating!

SCAM !

SCAM !! Absolute crooks. Had a flight from Ancona to Rome on December 3, 2023. Flight was postponed 6 times in three hours and then cancelled ! Had to organize a taxi to Rome, cost a fortune, and missed my connecting flight. Waiting for my refund ever since! Now they don't even answer my emails anymore. STAY CLEAR THEY WILL ROB YOU !!!

The worst company

I cannot give to this company 0 stars. It's the worst.
I booked a fly from Bucharest to Rome in December 2023 and they canceled it promising I will get my money back in a month. When I write this review is the middle of March 2024 and I called the company four time, and I did not my money back.
Dont use this company!

SCAMMERS; FRAUD; ILLEGAL

I WOULD GIVE 0 STARS. SCAMMERS! I bought 2 tickets in January for a flight in April. The cancelled the flight a week after saying that I can receive a refund. That was straight up a scam. I've been waiting for my 250 euros since then and still nothing. Those from customer support do not understand English properly and won't even respond to messages in the chat. Avoid this company at all costs, they are SCAMMERS. This is straight up FRAUD. Stay safe and avoid AEROITALIA.

One of the worst airplane company ever

Changing flights schedules up to 3 times on this flight and others too. Had to book other tickets with another company another day, when my connection did not make it possible to take the flight scheduled for the second time, with them for 1h 35mn before. No refund and terrible online assistance. Today on another flight wanted to changed in checked baggage to cabin bagage, not possible. Be careful with this company, they are only good in taking your money. Forget any refund, your money is theirs, even if you can't take the flight. Worst company ever

Absolutely appalling

Absolutely appalling. They cancelled my flights, I filled in online refund form next day. Had to chase to get a reply.Three weeks of chasing to be given a generic reply and think refund won't be coming anytime soon. Avoid this airline !!
