Ridiculous RIPOFF

I had to pay 45 more euros just because my cabin luggage was not backpack shaped but trolley shaped...

That's right. The size and weight of the luggage were not the problem but the shape.

As if this was not enough, they DID NOT even let me pay in cash (neither euros nor the local currency) but with the credit card.

DO NOT USE!!!!

I booked tickets from our local airport last year - the times moved and then they were cancelled. I filled in the online form as requested with no reply and now have finally managed to get hold of them via chat after trying for a week! Apparently I am now in a queue which will take 30 days FROM TODAY not from when i raised the original query 3 weeks ago. They are holding onto my £300 and I need to book new flights. Terrible service & I am not sure how they are allowed to trade.

Thieves

Every negative review here is correct. This airline will delay/ change your flight several times and then straight up cancel. I was promised a refund 2 months ago. I've emailed over 7 times asking for updates with no reply. I’ve called more times than I can count. One time, I waited 30 minutes on the phone to be hung up on when the agent heard me speak English. Another time, an agent promised a refund would arrive in 30 days even though, at that point, it had already been 2 months. My favorite was when an agent flat out said the company “doesn’t have the funds to process all the refund requests in the cue.” Are you serious? What kind of company has that many refund requests that there’s a cue? What kind of company takes your money & loses it? How is this a legal business?

I look forward to seeing a class action lawsuit take this company down. I managed to rebook my flight and it was 4 hours delayed. The company is required by EU Regulation 261/2004 to compensate all passengers on the flight. I am positive they will not as this company has no regard for the law. Criminals.

Should you trust your $$ with this company, I pray everything goes to plan. Get travel insurance. Because if they screw you over and cancel or delay your flight, don't expect any help or compensation whatsoever.

Absolutely shocking company!

Absolutely shocking company!

Zero customer service, they don't reply to complaints, they don't answer the phone and I'm still waiting for a refund on 2 cancelled flights which have ruined my trip.

Take my advice and NEVER use this company.

Canceled flights and NO money back for the tickets after 2 month since i have payed

Regarding the information I have received from Aeroitalia the flights from May2024 have been canceled and I requested full refund to the same form of payment used for the original purchase.They were very prompt in answering me, via email ,that my request was accepted, but 2 months already passed after buying the tickets and I still haven't received the costs related to the tickets, about 600 euros.It is really embarrassing and unprofessional the way Aeroitalia act and treat the customers, I personally will never use the services of this company again and i will claime and ask for compensation for the fact that they do not respect their obligations and policies towards the clients. EC Regulation 261/2004

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would.
We booked our flight and paid our money.
They then contacted us to say the flight was cancelled. Months later we are still waiting for our refund.
This company is fraudulent. I'm waiting to see them declare bankrupt so they don't have to pay anyone what they owe.
Absolutely disgusted.

Still waiting for a refund from a flight cancelled 3 months ago by the airline

I was meant to fly from Ancona to Vienna in December 2023. I booked my flight around 6 weeks prior. Unfortunately all flights between Ancona and Vienna got cancelled due to an argument between the airline and the region. The airline informed me of my cancelled flight and I requested a refund, so far so good. Legally speaking, the airline has 7 days to refund the money from a cancelled flight. I have now been waiting for more than 2 months. I have called the airline 3 times already with no outcome. If they do not refund me within the next few weeks I will be forced to get a lawyer involved since what the airline is doing is highly illegal under European law. Obviously it also implies that I will not book another flight with them again.

Great crew and nice experience

My experience with Aeroitalia was very good. Flight service FCO-BGY, on Gen 16 operated by RAF-Avia with a SAAB340 aircraft. Despite the flight being operated by another company, Aeroitalia still have one cabin crew onboard to ensure delivery of a more comfortable flight to the mostly Italian speaking guests.
Alessandro and Mila, the two cabin crew on duty, went above and beyond during the flight to give us the best possible service. The flight was late by 10 minutes due an airport ground truck not being disconnected on time, but the crew kept us informed and distributed bottled water and candies to everyone onboard. During the flight the cabin crew conducted service giving out free thee or coffee. Overall excellent flight on a rare aircraft type. Recommended for day trips to Roma fiere or places close to Fiumicino, otherwise out of market given the price of train tickets.

Flight costed 99.99€.

the worst experience ever : I had a flight with wheelchair…

I had a flight with wheelchair assistance.
because of traffic they decided to move me to the evening flight.
they told me to go to the ticket shop and they will just change my ticket. At the ticket shop they told me I had to buy a new ticket. I payed already 250 circa for the one way to alghero from Milan.
I asked to use the travel for working option during the winter IATA: I’m Italian architect, from Sardinia, resident in Switzerland and have some restoring projects that I need to check in Sardinia.
I told them I can do the self-certificate
They told me I need Partita IVA, which I don’t have because I don’t need it in Switzerland for smaller projects. I showed the business card of the company, with internet site and all.
They told me in Italy you need to have the Partita IVA.
The company I work is Swiss, so we don’t have Partita Iva, we have the Swiss correspondent.
They said no.
I had to pay on my own expenses, needing the assistance, a last minute ticket one way for around 320 euro. Or I would be stuck in the wheelchair in the airport without any real other choices. Because they work right now in an actual state of monopole: no other company does this connection.
I’d rather not go to Sardinia until they restore another flight company, or I go by boat.
They’re definitely scam.

The flight was never there

The flight from London Heathrow to Milan was never there. Bought tickets for 2022 Christmas but they never flew a flight, they said they notified the intermediary like lastminute.com for canceled flight. But lastminute.com said they did not. Therefore Aeroitalia refused to pay my canceled flight compensation that I am entitled to.
I wait until now after so long for this review. I got the ticket fee back from lastminute.com but I suffered loss for my accommodation, my ruined christmas holidays and the unneccesary trip to Heathrow (£100 round trip for both me and my wife).
I should have been legally entitled for compensation for this late notice flight, but they said they did notice lastminute.com. So it became he say she say, what can I do but to give a one star review to you.

Rimborso totale sulla stessa forma di pagamento / Full refund

Fine ottobre (23.10.2023) ho comprato due biglietti per dicembre per me e mi padre. Ancona - Vienna. Il giorno successivo i voli sono stati cancellati e ho richiesto un rimborso totale sulla stessa forma di pagamento utilizzata per l aquisto originale. Fin ora non ho ricevuto nulla! Fine novembre (24.11.2023) ho riuscito ad contattarli. Me hanno detto che i soldi (circa 230 euro) me arrivano la prima settimana di dicembre. Non e arrivato nulla. Da allora ho provato a contattarli piu volte, via e-mail e telefono, senza sucesso.... Siamo a gennaio e ancora non ho ricevuto i soldi dalla richiesta di rimborso che ho fatto il 24.10.2023.... Prossima settimana faccio la dennuncia alla polizia.

At the end of October (23.10.2023) I bought two tickets for me and my father for a flight on December, Ancona - Vienna. Next day the flights got cancelled and I requested a full refund to the same form of payment used for the original purchase. I still haven t received anything back! At the end of November (24.11.2023) I reached them and they told me I should expect the money (circa 230 euro) during the first week of December. Didn t receive them. I tried to reach them several times since then, via e-mail and phonecall, without success. Its January and I still haven t received my money back from refund request I made 24.10.2023.... I'll file a police report next week.

Worst airline ever!

Not only they rip you off at every step of the booking/check-in process, make you pay for choosing a seat and for having a normal cabin luggage (55x40x20) and then the distance between the backrest in front of me and my seat turns out to be unmanageable 27cm (is that even legal???) plus they ask me to fit a backpack under the seat in front of me, removing the last square centimeters where my feet could have been placed. All this accompanied by the extraterrestrial charm of a cabin crew demonstrating a mood that suggests that they are treated as well as the customers of this airline. Only a quasi monopoly situation on the flight segment Olbia - Rome can let such service quality sustain. If I had ANY other choice at ANY price I would fly with such alternative rather than flying again with Aeroitalia..

Paying for check in???

I came to check in at the front desk and was asked to pay 25€ for a check in fee. Never in my life have I ever paid money for checkin in to a flight. They were extremely rude about the entire situation telling me to read the airline policy page before flying because they require you to check in online or pay a fine for checking in at the front desk which I find insane to even have. All in all terrible airline terrible service.

Great customer service (Sara especially)

I had a great interaction with their customer service.
They rescheduled a flight but they were quick and easy to reimburse the cost of the affected ticket.
In particular, the rep that assisted me, Sara, was very kind, listened to my concerns, showed empathy and provided fast and clear resolution. Her service (including warm voice tone, calm, polite and positive attitude) was outstanding.

Avoid this airline

There was no option to check in on line. When l got to the desk at the airport they demanded €50 Euros and said l should claim it back. Waited on line to chat with someone for an hour and then gave up.
