Aetna International health insurance is despicable!

Aetna International health insurance is a fraud -- my wife and I choose to live in the European Union, but Aetna refuses to pay any and all non-emergency health care costs outside of the U.S. We both have compromised health, including Type II Diabetes, but Aetna Insurance absolutely refuses to pay any claims for our care for our conditions, even though we are in our 80s and disabled. AETNA INSURANCE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF ITS ABUSE OF US PLAN MEMBERS!

Aetna Inc?? NO MORE This Cheater

Versicherung Aetna Inc. NICHT empfehlen.

The Insurance Aetna ist very worst…

If a parent falls ill, they don't want to pay for the return flight.
A double pulmonary embolism, pulmonary bleeding and multiple blood clots as well as pulmonary emphysema are supposedly not dangerous enough to justify a return flight.

Dismissed as not bad enough.
If the Father dies, it would be a different story.
So there is a need.
The daughter is in an extension.
She will only be allowed to return if she pays for it herself.
If the father dies due to this illness during the time she MUST stay in the USA, we will seek a procedure in the USA, which will be much more expensive than the 900€ for the Ticket…

My employer is unhappy with Aetna

My employer is unhappy with Aetna. I spent over 20 business hours trying to resolve issues with Aetna such as incorrect EOBs, incorrect claims, misrepresentation of benefits.

Aetna incorrectly processed PCP visits as specialty visits. After Aetna verified that my PCP is not a specialist, Aetna did not correct the claims. I involved RightWay service to dispute the claims, and despite that Aetna confirmed that my PCP is not a specialist, Aetna still does not correct the claims. The battle with Aetna cost my employer several paid hours.

Aetna website is buggy and won't let me login or use my benefits. It's been 2 months that I reported the issue with technical support. I still can't access my account. Aetna prevents me from using my benefits.

When I contact Aetna over the phone, the representatives who misbehave refuse to hang up, as a way to prevent members from leaving a negative feedback at the end of the call. This happened several times with their technical support, especially. I think Aetna HR should look into this malpractice.

Aetna is by far the worst insurance I ever had. Not recommended to employers.

Avoid this company

I reside in Thailand, I was a member for a few years until in January this year, I woke up in hospital, yes i paid my own fees. There was some dialogue with Aetna, but it was a waste of time. On the 7th February this year, I sent them 49,000THB to extend cover. Turns out they never applied the cover, i'm fighting to get my money back now

1) High monthly premiums

1) High monthly premiums
2) Inconvenient payment process that's limiting to the consumer
3) FINE PRINT that they don't show on all their documents: an out of pocket maximum for preventative routine checkups
4) No direct billing
5) Troublesome to get a letter of authorization to prevent upfront payment

If you are considering a health insurance plan, steer clear.
