my family came from ny rented a air bnb at 981 goldbear dr and on the second day i was bitten by many bedbugs and my grandson was bit to air bnb has done nothing and the host irene is a joke
Airbnb is a joke
Airbnb is a joke . I have contacted them as a host concerning damage done by a guest including pictures. All I get from them is “ we have forwarded your complaint “ . What a joke , stay away from putting your home on this site !!! Would be helpful if they hired people could also understand! This company is a scam ... you will loose money if you list with them !! Mine is going to be about a $20,000 lose !!
Airbnb will cancel you last minute
I confirmed and paid for an extra-large place near Disneyland 6 weeks in advanced. With less than 48 hours of the trip, the host cancels on me so they could resell it for a higher rate. Been a week and no refund.
Airbnb operator says they can't do anything for me and then LIED that they will have a supervisor call me within 24-28 hours.
Airbnb doesn't even allow me to leave a negative review for the host since the reservation was cancelled.
I wonder how many others they have done this to.
What confidence can anyone have when planning a family vacation if Airbnb and it's hosts can pull things like this.
You have been warned. First and last time I will ever use Airbnb.
Air BnB DISCRIMINATION
Air BnB
Yesterday, Air BnB banned me for life for no reason. I had 2 trips planned and within seconds they refunded my money. They would give no reason except I associate with someone who is not allowed to use Air BnB. They would not give me the name or allow me to state my case. At this point I believe they banned me because I am a Woman, I am single, and they are discriminating against me without any cause. Every day they state they do not discriminate. They do!! Even if you have done nothing wrong, they will kick you off their platform. Is it because I am white? Is it because I am a Woman? Is it Political? Is it because I am single? I have the best reviews ever and they terminated me for no cause. They refuse to speak with me or even allow me to know what is wrong. Be VERY CAREFUL!!! Do NOT ALLOW AIR BNB TO KNOW WHO YOU ASSOCIATE WITH!!!! You too can be kicked off of their platform at any time!!!
For Years and Years, I have used Air BnB. If you know me you also know that when I travel I love to get a place where I can cook and have extra room. I love to take my sewing and crafts. I usually have someone with me and I love being with people. I have never had a bad review or a problem. Owners are always happy when I return. SO BYE AIR BNB! YOU DO NOT PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH!!!!

A host gave me an inaccurate review and displayed prejudice. Airbnb refused to delete the review from my account. I will never use Airbnb again!
Just returned from a Borrego Springs…
Just returned from a Borrego Springs stay, one night at a mobile home park. The accommodation was fine overall, no complaints. However, I felt completely ripped off by cleaning and other fees. The room cost was $81, charged $85! The additional fees were $100, with a $75 cleaning fee!!! That is outrageous, abusive and a complete ripoff. I've used arbnb before with success, but this experience has left a very negative feeling about using arbnb in the future. Beware of high fees!!
Panoramic 360 Views in 6/3 Cabin on 7 Acres! Host name is Mel
WARNING: Please only read all of my short story if you DON’T want any surprises. Sometimes, surprises are fun J
This review is not to bad mouth anyone, because these people don’t seem to be horrible, and may have had many who genuinely enjoyed their entire experience while staying at this particular property. We definitely had some fun times, too. We just wouldn’t do any of this the same way next time.
Like I said, the cabin and customer service is awesome at first glance. As time went on, some realizations and epiphanies hit us, and some of these things may be deal breakers for many different types of people, so I’ll list them just so you’re aware.
1) DISHONESTY: This is the most important for me because everything else can be explained away or corrected. Someone’s values cannot change so easily and is primarily why we’d never return. We’d asked about mice before booking since someone else had mentioned them in their review and two of our guests were deathly afraid. They lied and told us that the other reviewer was a liar who’d been reported, so we booked. We saw THREE mice while we were there (or the same one 3 different times in 3 different places…I can’t say for sure). We reported directly to the owner who eventually agreed to a partial refund (in exchange for us not leaving a review), then strung us along and now we have to go through AirBNB and our bank to resolve the issue. INCONVENIENCE is another issue, but I won’t list that separately. Note: AirBNB refund timeline is 48 hours…not up to 2 weeks like the owner told us.
2) CHILD SAFETY: We went there with two small children. The upper floor is off limits for them unless you can watch them non-stop. This master bedroom area is one huge loft with zero enclosures, and the balcony was nice, but it and the stairs were big time danger areas. Same goes for the stairs leading down to the basement. We had to put up a barrier (not just for the kids—my mom and sister almost fell down as well).
3) PRIVACY: That huge loft area upstairs means zero auditory privacy if anyone is on the main level…and there’s ALWAYS someone right there because that’s where the kitchen and living area are. So if you wanna poo or be intimate in peace without anyone overhearing, get it all in before you visit this cabin…or go to the basement (which is the only real private place in the house). While on the upper floor, we could also hear EVERYTHING coming from both of the bedrooms below. So sleeping during iPad action movie night…not an option.
4) UNWELCOME HOUSE GUESTS: Not just the mice…We brought home live roaches in our food items (all of which we bought while we were there)! I know, I know…we chose to be in the middle of the woods, so it shouldn’t have been a surprise or deal breaker. I still found myself feeling some kind of way as we were struggling to check our home and all of our belongings for other gifts from nature. We only saw a few (and some were dead), but I ended up dragging my family to a hotel for a few days anyway because I’m a wuss :/
5) CLEANLINESS: Not too big of a deal because we know how to clean for ourselves. We just expected more for the price. Strange animal hair on one of the beds? Very bothersome since we didn’t have any pets and none of us had been in that room meaning that the sheets hadn’t been changed in who knows how long. The huge red ring around the bottom of the master shower really just made it less awesome. It was still cool though. Dirty dining room chairs will only be an issue if you have a germ phobia.
6) ISOLATED LOCATION: I think this is great for most people who are looking to spend time in a cabin. However, if you might need to make several trips to the store for stuff for your kids or for any special moments that you have planned, get ready for a more than one hour round trip drive.
Of course, this cabin wasn’t all bad…not by a long shot. There were definitely some things that I appreciated BEYOND what was mentioned in the listing.
1) SECURITY: Even though the cabin is far from town, there are other cabins/homes nearby, so it’s not super isolated (in case you’re worried about a “Cabin in the Woods” type of scenario. For the house itself, there was only one real point of entry for any non-ninja. The basement door was padlocked, so even though we had to walk up the stairs from the driveway/firepit to get to the house every time, I felt better at night knowing that the basement was at least a little more secure.
2) AMPLE LINEN/SOAP: There were plenty of towels for everyone (we only had to do linen laundry once). Plus, the extra sheets came in handy for the animal hair bed.
3) VIEWS + BALCONIES: The pictures in the listing already kind of say this, but I will reiterate: the views combined with the many balconies and the dining room windows are legitimately amazing. We loved it
That’s it. Hope this helped
Wild salmon retreat
Unplug, ski, near the river, hot tub, wood stove:wild salmon retreat in packwood wa hosted by Debbie. I would advise anyone thats looking for a place to stay to avoid this place at all costs. She tried blaming us for other people before us melting her (cheap BBQ grill handle) saying the placed was trashed event tho in the rules it clearly stated we don't have to do the dishes just rinse them off. She was a terrible host. Trying to steal even more money from us. When she already charged an $80 cleaning fee. The hot tub was disgusting. The place has rat poop under the kitchen sink. I was looking forward to a nice weekend away but when I returned home i got rude messages from her. If I could give 0 stars I would. Me and my husband wanted to make this a yearly trip but we will look elsewhere now. She got mad because her cleaning people actually had to do their job. She tried saying the hot tub issue was clean when we got there. Well no it wasn't we used it Friday night when we got there realized it nasty and didn't use it anymore. DONT GO HERE!!!!!
California airbnb. Worst customer service
Booked in California..
After arriving at our Airbnb we were immediately greeted with numerous police cars due to a shooting. I realize this is our or the host control except when it happens almost daily in the Neighbored and she fabricated her story. After numerous hours and days spent on the issues trying to resolve it in the correct manner we have gotten no where.
Airbnb supports misrepresentation, violence and the guest staying in a horribly unsafe situation. They are also ok with host rebooking and making double profits. My experience has been a nightmare at the cost of over $5,000.
The host has relisted the place and anyone can book right now for our dates, but we are out over $5,000 on a place that is misleading in the listing. She can literally rent it out during our paid time. So, she gets to make double the amount while we are out $5,000? This is not legal or ethical, I’m sorry but it isn’t.
The actual listing states “The neighborhood is urban, gritty, and beautiful. It is safe and centrally located, so the surroundings blocks are busy. Within walking distance, you will find; a grocery co-op, coffee shop, giant dog park, playground, post office, taco truck, corner stores, and our favorite bar ”. This doesn’t represent gang violence, vehicle theft, assault, rape and shooting of police officers.
Airbnb’s policy states:
“Misrepresenting your spaces
You should not provide inaccurate location information, have incorrect availability, mislead people about the type, nature, or details of your listing, substitute one listing for another, set up fake or fraudulent listings, leave fraudulent reviews, engage in deceptive pricing, or fail to disclose hazards and habitability issues.”
“Extenuating circumstances Policy
Military actions and other hostilities. Acts of war, hostilities, invasions, civil war, terrorism, explosions, bombings, rebellions, riots, insurrection, civil disorder, and civil unrest”
1. Airbnb expects two young females to stay in a home alone in which there is active gang violence and hate for their race? (Including judgement and hostility from the host, regarding life experiences?) This 100% in your rightful cancelation policy above.
2. Airbnb supports gun violence and police shootings to take place, and a guest should just accept it and take the chance on being murdered themselves?
3. Airbnb is stated that active Police Department are liars when they say that this is not a safe area for any female and should have never been listed as one?
4. Airbnb encourages its guest to stay in environments that are misrepresented, unsafe, falsely advertised, hostile?
5. Airbnb is ok with a host double booking a property and making double profits while still accepting reservation.
95% bad should tell you something
95% bad should tell you something. a week is 7 days where i come from yet host is telling me time is up. had to show host original reservation at 11 oclock at night. oh... so sorry
SCAM! Lakeview Cottage at Lake Weir hosted by Frank
SCAM ALERT Lakeview Cottage at Lake Weir hosted by Frank and cohosted by Eileen. CON ARTISTS! AirBnB and host totally ripped me off.
Host advertised his place as a LAKE VIEW cottage NEXT DOOR to a restaurant. When in fact this mobile type home (advertised as a cottage) is across the street from the lake, behind houses and trees, there is no lake view, and it is not next-door to the restaurant. When I asked for a refund, the host was arrogant and rude and refused to refund my money. Air BnB customer service gave me the runaround for weeks and wasted hours of my time. They would not refund my money, even when it stated in the guest refund policy that, "the listing’s description or depiction of the Accommodation is materially inaccurate with respect to: the physical location of the Accommodation (proximity)." and "the place isn’t as it was described in the listing description."
The host actually edited his pictures of this "lake-view cottage" AFTER we booked it. Thankful we looked at the pictures later, so not to have wasted a weekend with 2 families and kids hanging out in a carport of a mobile home potentially getting bedbugs. The host also changed his description from next-door to "walking distance" because his original description was a lie. I am absolutely disgusted by how this situation was handled by AirBnB. They would never let me talk to a supervisor and just closed my case.
This was my first time booking with this company and I was totally conned.
Scammed by Susan @ Mountain Grove at Cloudland…
Susan @ Mountain Grove at Cloudland stated her property was located “atop Lookout Mountain.” However, her property is located almost an hour as the destination known on every major map as Lookout Mountain. It was a last minute booking I tried to cancel as soon as I realized she was using deceptive advertising to lure in unsuspecting travels, but there’s a reason she won’t give refunds. AirBnB did nothing to help get my money refunded. I’m so disappointed that AirBnB is enabling such dishonesty.
1551 Red Cedar Rd Eagan Mn All the…
1551 Red Cedar Rd Eagan Mn All the reasons why I picked this place and the amenities it was vey disappointing the fire place didn’t work, pool look like a swamp, backyard unkept, heat very inadequate colder inside then outside, grill inadequate. After all of the host lied on how I left the place. However I have pics, the host said he got a noise violation which could have not been further from the truth. Meaning that we were the only 4 black people in a white town so no we’re not looking for any trouble or we were hardly ever there, but this was because he didn’t want to return any money. I feel if I was scammed. Air bnb did not try to get to the bottom of it by asking for pics or proof they took the host word. Im not a race card player but boy do I feel like I’ve been felt the hand! Thanks air bnb. Never again
Our first reservation ever was…
Our first reservation ever was cancelled because airbanb over booked. The property owner had to help us get a full refund. The second reservation was cancelled at the last minute with no explanation. It's ok we went directly to this other property owner. He is lovely! The property is Beautiful and we saved $200. We don't need airbnb. They were horrible and that was the short story.
Think Twice Before Becoming a Host
Be very careful and think twice before becoming an Airbnb host. First there is the likelihood of damage to your home as well as mentally unstable guests.
I was a highly successful host even during the pandemic with thousands of good reviews, return guests and a good cash flow. Then Airbnb blocked me from viewing my account, guests still arriving but I had no way of seeing when or communicating with them. Airbnb refused to explain due to their privacy policy. Then my account was deactivated! Still waiting to here what is going on.
They have become too big and indifferent to guests and hosts.
Well it kept giving me listings and…
Well it kept giving me listings and none with the dates i requested got all the way through the reservation process for a place i found in another town and it would not let me add my id for the final step and i updated the app and it still wont work im way over trying this even though i know the places are nice i tried to book it wont allow it if i cant book without the airbnb app they wont get my business
Airbnb should be ilegal please stay in…
Airbnb should be ilegal please stay in a hotel. I did reservation after it had a super host and good reviews to find that is was a basement of the host house. I felt the host was stalking what I was doing and then at night time there was loud noise and lose dogs in the upper room. There was also domestic violence, the host was fighting with a man. Please this is illegally . This people host this location to make extra money and I believe it not inspected for people to stay in. Please go to a hotel
I wish it were possible to give airbnb…
I wish it were possible to give airbnb a no star rating. That is what they truly deserve. Do not use them. They are thieves!!! Con-artists!!!! They care nothing about their customers. Don't waste your money. I wish I had read the reviews here before using their service. The customer care is no help at all either!!!
SCAM - Conned Out of Stay
SCAM, SCAM, SCAM -- This vile company cancelled my Airbnb stay and proceeded to send me other places to stay. Guess what was in the list of places to stay?
The place I had already booked and they canceled! But get this, they upped the price and tried to say "this place isn't available."
Pitiful, no apology, nothing. I'm only hoping we truly get refunded the money we were promised since they've lied through their teeth about everything else.
