Appleton-Green is a total scam
Appleton-Green is a total scam. Do not engage with them in any way. All the positive reviews here on Trustpilot have been faked.
Appleton-Green scrapes the Internet and use stolen email addresses for a mass spam campaign offering work opportunities. Those work opportunities are not what they appear to be and require large upfront cash payments to Appleton-Green.
It is a total scam. Do not have anything to do with them. They are totally disreputable.
Scam company, fake reviews …
All the five star reviews on this platform are fake. Don’t be fooled. This is a scam company. Hey Trustpilot, Verify your reviews.
One of the most awkward and concerning…
One of the most awkward and concerning companies I’ve encountered. The entire setup feels like a scripted funnel designed to extract at least $1,500 upfront, under the guise of either becoming a “training provider” or continuing as a consultant. The moment you decline the training route and express interest in staying on as a consultant, the conversation ends abruptly—and you’re never contacted again. No reputable firm demands that level of upfront payment while making such exaggerated income claims. Promising standalone consultants $200K to $1M without credible proof or market context is simply not grounded in today’s reality.
Scam outfit
Scam outfit, operating out of Cayman islands.
Just received a cold call from them to offer me work.
They find your details on LinkedIn.
After the call they emailed me details of a first interview proposed, plus details of USD fees they require up front.
Beware, only scammers operate this way.
Do I have to give a star at all?
Do I have to give a star at all? This (probably fraudulent) company reached out to ME urging me to schedule an appointment for a phone call. I was skeptical, but I'm game for a company phone call. They never even showed up for the phone call! I called the company, they told me that there were no available appointments (odd since I had a confirmed telephone appointment). The next day I got an email that said we didn't have "synergy." Run like hell, please. This company has scam written all over it!
Outdated, underperforming, intransparent
Feels like a pyramid scheme, outdated, with an incompetent marketing arm.
The initial outreach and discussions were professional. I signed on to become a certified learning provider and developed content. Then the specific requirements started, coupled with Appleton Greene pushing their own services. This would all be acceptable, were it not for their campaigning service which started with a four month delay and yielded nothing. Questions were not answered. Time to write off a high four digit number and massive content development efforts.
Be suspicious when companies ask fees upfront
Immediately suspect when companies ask for fees upfront before they supply any business to a consultant Their website pops up many of what appears to be fake customer reviews. Many others have reported less than honorable practices, repeated SPAM, violating From and Reply to email domains, so it appears to be a less than honorable firm. They have no experience in consulting, they are training firm for small companies
This company is dishonest to the core
This company is dishonest to the core. Fake reviews, fake people, 100% scam. I verified this by digging into the people who provide online reviews for them and none of them exist.
Avoid at all costs
cold email outreach which insinuates that I reached out to them. Harassing level of emails. No specifics about what they do. No easy to find - you find them! clients who extol their virtues.
Faker than a $3 bill
This company, Appleton Green & Co., is a scam, a company preying on those looking for work with opportunities to source work for high fees. I never need help finding my own work, but am interested in the model so I investigated. Here is what I found:
1) Appleton Green & Co's NYC office is a Carr coworking space. The office in Grand Cayman does not exist.
2) Of the 6 people on LinkedIn that list Appleton Green & Co as their employer, 2 don't work there, 2 are not real people, and 2 have hidden profiles.
3) The company uses predatory e-mail practices, sending e-mail from a different domain than the reply-to account and embedding tracking code in their e-mails.
4) The reviews are laughably fake. They never say who the actual reviewer is and list reviews from big companies about fake or stolen people. Take the review from "L Garnier" from France for example, a reverse image search will find her picture is a stock photo used on other corporate websites. The review from S. Gross shows a photo that is 2010 copyrighted by Jupiter Image Corporation. The image from P. Lowe is on at least 12 other websites as a stock photo.
scam pyramid
Contacted by Appleton Greene I was happy to hear my skills could be useful to join a coorporate training company.
And then, second email prepare the second interview is really promoting high salary :
As a guide, Accredited Senior Consultants (ASC) earn between $250k annually (20 hours per week) to $500k annually (40 hours per week), whereas Certified Learning Providers (CLP) earn $300k annually while learning, during the program development phase and then between $1m-$3m annually once they are qualified.
And of course, to join Appleton Greene as a Certified Learning Provider, I need first to pay to join the company. Here is a copy of the 3rd email I received :
IMPORTANT NOTE: ADDITIONAL 2 POSITIONS (50% TUITION FEE DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE FOR A LIMITED PERIOD)
The Certified Learning Provider (CLP) department is currently expanding due to ongoing demand and as such additional places are being made available exclusively to Appleton Greene Accredited Consultants for a limited period only. These additional places are available at a 50% discount, thus reducing your tuition fee for the Certified Learning Provider (CLP) program from $8,000.00 as advertised, to only $4,000.00, thus representing a saving of $4,000.00. This offer will only be available on applications that are processed on or before Friday 16th August 2024 and are subject to ongoing availability.
Shall I pay $4,000 to join Appleton Greene?
Thank you for loosing my time.
They're clearly a pyramid scam.
I went ahead with the 2 calls with them, just to ask the difficult questions. They quickly understood I see right through them. That 2nd call just confirmed what I suspected.
They have a website well made, so do the nice programmes and testimonials. as any good pyramid should have.
When you do check about this Cayman Islands company elsewhere, e.g. for those "hundreds" of employees on the different departments they claim having, you discover what seems to be a quite shady operation. Only 6 "associates" on LinkedIn (and look well who they are); They claim a "few hundreds of millions" turnover and only serving large enterprises... Find me those enterprises that pay them millions a year...Ah ha.
Their LinkedIn page barely having a few followers, no-one heard of them in the real consultancy sphere. They claim it's cause they "choose" to be off social media...come on :)
The funny stuff, they expect people to work, prove themselves worthy and all that crap before they "approve" them. I guess it's a great system to filter the suckers who will send their money to this phantom play.
P.s. Check all those 5 stars reviews here, how many reviews they had previously (if any) and what type...
Total scam outfit
Total scam outfit. They had me fooled at first. I was initially sent an intriguing email offering a couple of years ago, and then I was interviewed by a very credible-sounding British male who promised me my own niche as an expert offering my content and building a team. The website and materials were extremely convincing, but I could find no one on Linked In to back up the claim that they had a large group of consultants. (And I have a large database of credible professionals worldwide on Linked In). I found this odd, but I was so intrigued, I persisted until I was asked to transfer money to the Bahamas! HUGE RED FLAG. When I emailed them about this, I received a strange response: "We don't say bad things about you. Why do you say bad things about us?" Run don't walk away from these charlatans! (I just got an email from them AGAIN today. Apparently they don't even keep track of who is on to them). That's why I dated this with today's date.
To demonstrate this, here's the banking info they sent me requesting that I send them money:

Definitely fishy when all the 5-star reviews sound like AI and were posted in batches in the same week. Had a brief email interaction but decided not to pursue after searching on Reddit and review sites. No record with the BBB either.
EDIT: If all reviews are independently verified, why are they all posted in batches on the same day?
Looks like a scam site.
Looks like a scam site.
Outreaches over linkedin with cold emails.
Website looks shady.
Website privacy policy contains parts taken from Accenture.com privacy policy it seems.
Only 6 employees on linked in.
All the reviews on TrustPilot are fake, badly AI generated garbage.
There's a thread on Reddit too, which they've engineered with fake accounts. Nice.
Oh and it's registered in the Cayman Islands....

They say I'm not a customer. No, you cold email outreached to me. I researched. Things don't seem to add up.
Our organization has always been…
Our organization has always been innovative with product development. It is in our DNA. But we never want complacency to set in. We are always looking to improve. All of the consulting services we have employed have always looked for problems to resolve. Appleton Greene were different. Their Product Development program helped us improve the things we were doing well over a period of four years. Special thanks goes to Lisa, Paul, and Dr. John. Thank you all.

This company seems extremely shady and too good to be true.
I was told that I could pay $4,000 for a program that would allow me to earn $1 million to $3 million per year. If that's true, why wouldn't everyone on Earth do that program?

I enthusiastically endorse the Stakeholder Management program from Appleton Greene. Every stakeholder was an integral part of the development and implementation of the strategy, a great way to achieve buy in and commitment.
