I had a very disappointing experience with Appliance City due to their poor customer service.

The appliance I received was defective straight out of the box. I reported the issue immediately by email and had to repeatedly chase them with multiple phone calls. Despite all my efforts, I never received a single proactive call from their team to update me, nor did I receive even a simple apology for the inconvenience.

Although the appliance was eventually exchanged, the entire process was frustrating and exhausting. I constantly felt ignored and had to do all the chasing myself just to get the issue resolved.

Mistakes can happen, and I understand that defective products are sometimes unavoidable. However, it’s how a company handles those situations that matters. Unfortunately, Appliance City’s lack of communication, poor customer service, and complete absence of empathy left me with a very negative impression.

Really disappointing experience with Appliance City, particularly given how smoothly everything started.

We’re currently renovating our new home and initially ordered two fridge-freezers and a dishwasher through their Multi Buy service, with the intention of purchasing the rest of our kitchen appliances from them once our kitchen design was finalised. The quote process was straightforward and the service initially seemed very good.

The one thing I made clear was that we needed the fridge-freezers by a specific date. I was told that Appliance City could guarantee delivery on that date, which was an important reason for placing the order with them.

The day before delivery, I received confirmation giving me an 8–10am delivery window. We therefore planned around this and waited for the appliances to arrive. 10am came and went with no delivery and, more importantly, no communication from Appliance City.

I eventually had to call them myself, only to be told that they couldn’t fulfil the delivery because they only had one of the two fridge-freezers in stock and were still waiting for the other one to arrive.

What makes this particularly frustrating is that nobody contacted me beforehand to explain there was a stock issue, despite having confirmed the delivery window the previous day. When I asked them to simply deliver the one fridge-freezer they did have, along with the dishwasher, I was then told the earliest they could do this was five days later.

For a company selling large household appliances, a guaranteed delivery date should mean something – especially for essential appliances such as a fridge. If there was a stock problem, I should have been told before the promised delivery date rather than having to chase them after the delivery window had already passed.

We had intended to purchase several more appliances from Appliance City as part of our renovation, but this experience has seriously undermined my confidence in doing so.
