I must contact this office at least a few times a year and every time, I'm so pleasantly surprised at the help I receive in return. This time I was fortunate enough to have met Karen Green, who was so very very thorough with her response ! She provided me with all the information I was seeking and more. She's such a kind person and I REALLY appreciate her help. It feels as if I always get the answers I need form your site and I hope to continue to in the furture.

This business has treated our valuable inventory with total disregard, and has damaged our stock with extremely deep scratches. With decades of experience in the industry and many thousands of pieces passing between hands for repairs, polishing and hallmarking I have never seen something be returned in condition as bad as this. It is a Cartier bangle with a value of over £7,000. The screwdriver has clearly slipped on 3 separate occasions, on both sides of the bangle. If you don’t have the tool - don’t do the work. If you damage the item, have the professionalism and respect to report your mistake. I will be escalating this to the highest possible person at the Assay office. The item was in mint condition when they received it. I have seen many other similar reviews - this is sadly the latest in a long list. Unbelievable.

Terrible terrible service. After signing up and applying which costs a not so small start up fee I sent off my work to be hallmarked and excitedly waited weeks for its return. I followed all the instructions, even though they are very unclear. My items were never hallmarked and sent back to me as even though they were solid silver, their connectors weren’t. Even though I had stated that the connector pieces were not the parts to be tested. All in all this took about 6 weeks of my time waiting for the set up, then I lost out on over £300 that I still haven’t had refunded and it seems unlikely I will be either. Don’t even get me started on the customer service but they really enjoy using copy and paste from their terms and conditions to answer questions which, as we all know, isn’t the easiest to get your head around. Honestly I wouldn’t bother.

I took something to be assayed and they took photographs of it which I will be forever grateful for.

Sent bangle to Assay office London, they lazered clasp 9ct gold. Doubted this was correct, returned for retesting. They stated in writing they had made a mistake, would have to remove from clasp. In doing so, the clasp now contains, scored cut marks, large scratches, file marks: Customer service non existent.
I requested bangle be repaired to cover up their mistakes, damage caused by their so called professional team of markers. Sent estimate, for repair, compensate for THEIR INCOMPETANCE, still waiting.....

If I could offer less than 1 star I would. Please AVOID. They left lag marks in a gold ring, I've had silver marks disappear after polishing and their customer service is none existent. They seem to act on a immunity clause of: we say we might bash your work. If we do, and we even damage it, its your fault.

Hostile and aggressive customer service manager, although the other staff were helpful. Please chose another assay office unless you want to gamble your work and be told to be grateful.

No issues so far and use them 3-4 times a month
