We went to view a car yesterday (05/03/2026). The salesperson we initially dealt with was lovely and helpful. However, he did say he would knock £50 off the price if we left a review, which didn’t sit right with us.
We took the car for a test drive and it drove fine. But when we started looking through the paperwork, we noticed a big discrepancy in the mileage history. One year it showed 10k miles, the next year it dropped to 5k, then the following year jumped up to 19k. That immediately raised alarm bells.
We also noticed the name on the logbook had been covered with a “void” stamp. We were told this was because the car had been bought at auction and it was due to GDPR, which we accepted at the time. However, we then asked if they could show proof it had actually been purchased from auction, just for reassurance.
At this point the manager got involved and became very awkward. He refused to show any proof of purchase and the conversation became quite uncomfortable. After some back and forth he ended up walking off in a strop.
Overall the situation just didn’t feel right, and because of the lack of transparency we decided not to go ahead with the purchase.
