Absolutely disgusting experience

Absolutely disgusting experience. I hired and paid a car for my DK trip through the airline in combination with my flight tickets. When collecting the car (completely different than org hired) I paid an extra insurance to be sure. Allowed them to take the extra 1500 kroner from my visa. When returning the car all was good. A week later I got an email from their insurance claming I damaged the car in two places. Them dents have been on the rental paper's from previous renter's,so they tried to blame me. As I had the additional insurance I was clearly assured via email that I had not to pay anything and see about from any contact received. Today almost two months later, they tried to charge my credit card 1200 kroners. I was lucky to decline the transaction. So be careful not to deal with those criminals. Not recommended at all !!!

Think before using Travellink/AVIS

Think before using Travellink/AVIS; they just stole my money.

I normally don't share like this, but the service at Travellink is like nothing I've seen before. They took my money for renting a car but did not provide the car. Yes, they took $1333 USD.

We rented a car through Travellink, and we have rented cars many times before when we have been traveling, and there have never been any problems. But this time, they could not get my card to work (already paid online but for insurance) and did not provide the car. They did keep the money we paid. I have been corresponding with them, but I will not get the money back. They kept the money, but I did not get the car.

So, think about that next time you rent a car. I know I will not use Travellink/AVIS again.

HIre car broke down completely

HIre car broke down completely. I had family nearby who took me home. Trying to get Avis to do ANYTHING was a nightmare. I eventually got myself to the nearest Avis office and had to hire another car. I was without a vehicle to over a day, had to arrange my own transport to and from my hotel despite promises by Avis to arrange a taxi to get their office and am still fighting with them to get extra charges removed. The rental ended on Monday 27th Feb. I am still emailing them to get a satisfactory conclusion.
It is now a week since I returned the car.
I will return here to let you know how it went....

What a costly mistake. We rented a car from this location

We rented a car from this location. The guy who helped us was very nice even getting us unlimited miles at no extra charge. We got the car and it was filthy. We drove it less than 150 km. We returned it at the exact time and place on a Sunday. No one was there. We left the car as instructed. We then got charged $900 for damages supposedly caused by our hitting an animal. We never hit ANYTHING ! Their claim is ludicrous. They sent us pictures that I wish I could post here. They have the distinctive pattern of a zig zag from pinking shears and with the effort the fiberglass broke. The feather is tiny.
But we were stupid and we did not take pictures so it’s our word against theirs. Do NOT rent from here. They are dishonest and horrible.
I have already left a review in Avis’ website. They literally are THE WORST. No wonder they have a 1.3 rating.

If I could I’d give 0 stars I would

If I could I’d give 0 stars. Avis/Budget have claimed compensation for a damage despite an agreement of 0 excess. No less than approx €250. The money has been charged from my account without no prior agreement which is illegal. WE’LL NEVER USE BUDGET OR AVIS AGAIN.

Fraud

Appalling customer service

I am actually an AVIS President's Club member and based on my most recent awful customer service experience, I will not spend another krone with AVIS. First I get a car with a lot of pre-existing damages -again- but given the long queue when returning, I - for once- use the key drop- only to get billed for the pre-existing damage! Customer service is impossible to get a hold off either by email or on the phone. Clearly, Avis Denmark is just appalling as also evidenced by the Trustpilot score. Stay clear!

Never again

We booked a car and cancelled it, they took the money out of our account and keeps on saying we will get it back within 14 days. Guess What, its been 14 days and now we have to wait up until 14 more days, because they apparrently cant make an “immediate transaktion” as the only company in the world! Customorservice is horrible and hung up on me!!! Never ever would i recommend this company to anyone and never ever am I using this company again.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!

Absolutely abismal service. The car broke twice in three days, essentially ruining the holiday. The car was never replaced even though we asked. They just jumped the battery and wished us luck. It was impossible to get a hold of anyone. They were either closed or you have navigate a maze of phone prompts to only end up speaking to someone in the UK! When I returned on June 5th they charged me for “damages” and “down time” but won’t provide proof that they fixed the scratch on the rim. They didn’t fix the previous scratches just informed me about them, so what am I paying for?! And to top it off I still have 4330,21 dkk pending on my card two weeks later and just got a mystery charge of 1750dkk on June 15th with no explanation. I paid for the car and “damages” when I dropped it off. Don’t rent from these people. They are just trying to rip you off.

Never ever again rent a car with Avis

Never ever again rent a car with Avis, Split Airport.
Be very wary of any dealings with this company. They will try to sell you hugely inflated insurance which will be more than two times the cost of your actual car rental, even if you decline it and say you have your own car hire excess insurance. They don't take the payment until after you return the car. Make sure you read the contract you are signing - they will use an electronic signature pad at the desk where it is impossible to read what you are signing, so insist you see a paper copy of what you are signing first and read again before you leave the desk to make sure they have not added on the insurance against your wishes.

reservation bankaccount for non-existing rental

Avis has put a reservation on my bankaccount (9054,67 dkk) for a non-existing van hire in Virginia Beach. I have never booked a rental there, never been in that country either. I am trying to get them to confirm to my bank in Danmark that the reservation was a mistake, and that they kan close the reservation so I kan use my bankaccount again. But that seems to be a very complicated task for Avis Costumer Service. I have no money now to buy groceries, to pay my bills, and they just do not return my calls and e-mails. I have called to them every day since the reservation was put on my account, without any result whatsoever. Never in the rest of my life am I going to rent a car with this company. Ever.

Terrible

Terrible, just terrible.
Upon checking in, I noticed a dent in the front license plate of the car. The customer service agent saw this too a took a picture with his mobile and told me that he’d take care of this issue.
Upon returning the car I’ve received a claim of EUR 200 for the exact same dent and nobody can tell me who the service agent is or what happened when he took the photo. Such a scam. Never again Avis…it used to be a reputable company in Denmark.

Absolutely zero customer service. No response for 7 months. Fictive billing.

The following e mail chain is a fraction of the nightmare we've had with Avis Denmark going back to Sept. 2022.

We have heard this since September. Nobody from customer service ever contacts us.
I would like you to resolve this directly with your customer service. I do not want to wait in vain for someone to contact us who never will.

Today the attached rykker was found in our mail. Dated Feb 13, with a threat to turn over to collections after 10 days, i.e. Feb 23.

I need written confirmation from Avis by end of day March 7 that this invoice and rykkergebyr has been cancelled, and that Avis did not turn it over to collections. Please attach the credit note as proof.

Absent such confirmation end of day, I will be forced to post this story and email chain on social media. From what I can glean online, Avis customer service seems to only respond to problems which escalate to social media. I hate to have to resort to this, but enough is enough.

If A has any problems with a collection agency, our attorney will be contacting you.

Avis made a mistake and it took 2 weeks…

Avis made a mistake and it took 2 weeks to get winter tires on the leased car. We could not drive the car during that period (weather below minus degrees) so we were paying for the parked car at the garage while waiting for Avis to make an arrangement for the tires to be changed. Avis didn’t agree to prolong the lease to the period that the car was not in use due to their mistake, so we ended up pay for the parked car in the garage without being able to use it. Avis service sucks. A lot of money is out of the window . Do not recommend.

Fraud

Regarding Avis Estonia
The car was picked up at 10.57 local time. The car was delivered at 10.20 local time. This is only 3 days – Avis charging for 4 days.
I had a voucher from Holiday Autos for 143,79 incl. VAT + everything else.
I accepted an extra cover (I was informed about payment of 3 x 30 € = 90 Euro all together). However I was charged 246,70 €.
After writing AVIS 4 times, still no answer...
