Fantastic customer service. They replaced a faulty bread tin 9 months after I bought it, no questions asked. Highly recommended!

Worst Customer Service Ever and product!.

I placed and order for a Pullman Bread tin and 2 X cake tins. Decided to pay a little bit more than other websites thinking I was getting a good quality Catering Product.
Delivery took almost 3 weeks although website stated will receive in 2-3 days.
On arrival my parcel was very well packaged, credit for that, but not instructions how to care for the tins or invoices.
I had to search for hours on the internet to make sure I will treat my tins perfectly for long lasting. So I went ahead and wash the Pullman tin with just water and unfortunately sliced my finger tip badly (I wish I could put images here). The finish touches of the aluminium are sharp and no polish properly. Nevertheless continuo to treat my tin as I was so excited to use it. On the second day went ahead and make my first loaf of bread ready to bake and when came out of the oven the aluminium or paint has come off and was all over my loaf and tiny marks/holes on my new tin.
I emailed the company and more than a week after no reply so send them another message. After almost 2 weeks I have their answer, very arrogant a using me of putting the tins in the dishwasher when I don’t own one at home.
I feel conned for this company as the rest of reviews here. I will make sure I will take it to trading standers as their items are no fit for safety use and can injure badly any one.
Seems the company doesn’t care about keeping a good reputation within their customers which is a very bad way to deal with a business.
If you ever decide to buy from them just remember you can be lucky and things work out great but if you are sent a faulty item or have to deal with a problem they are a totally Nightmare to deal with.

New to ordering from here

New to ordering from here, but very happy with the experience. Yes there are some delays but this is to be expected in a time when flour is in a national shortage. I always receive my orders within around 2 weeks and they are packed well with no damage. The prices are reasonable as well for some very fancy flour! Thanks guys.

Great experience

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the team at bakery bits, my experience was fantastic in a time that is difficult for all due to the fact half the world is in lock down they really are doing a great job, I received my order in great condition and without them I would be unable to make bread. I will be using again thank you so much.

Great Service

These people are GREAT! In such difficult times they have done their absolute best to keep supplies going for bakers. They do not deserve the negative comments whatsoever.

Fantastic supplier of all things for baking bread (and other things)

I've ordered multiple time from Bakery Bits over the last 4 years or so. Fantastic range and great for delivering. Can't say I've ever seen the low level of service other reviewers have stated. I also can't help but think that there is a lack of understanding of the current situation for anyone supplying flour. They are always my first stop for any baking items and quite often flour too. They even managed to ship me some flour a week or so ago (in spite of the way things are at the moment).

DO NOT USE BAKERY BITS

I have just had the weirdest experience with this person, Patrick, at Bakery Bits.

I have placed several orders with this company in the past, they are always a bit slow to deliver, but ok. I placed an order last week and normally get a confirmation email, nothing, all i had was my paypal receipt. So I got in touch, by email because you cant get through on the phone, and couldn't get a satisfactory response, he just sent me a link about Covid-19 and the delays its causing, I replied and said I fully understood but wanted a delivery schedule, because I ordered a week ago and had heard nothing, he then said I had no sympathy and proceeded to cancel my order, without even discussing the situation with me!

This man has an incredibly sensitive and childish attitude towards even mild criticism. The sheer arrogance of what he did is simply because he is riding on the crest of a 'demand' wave. Absolutely shocking behaviour

My advice DO NOT SHOP WITH THIS COMPANY take your business elsewhere, there are lots of online retailers selling quality flour

I tried out bakery bits based on a…

I tried out bakery bits based on a recommendation in James Morton's baking book. Quite a lot of items are out of stock on their website but on 3 March I ordered some flour as a test as I am looking for a regular supplier. The website indicates fast delivery but is misleading as others have said. After a while I chased by email, and the auto response says they will reply in 2 days. No reply at all. I chase by phone on 11 March and was told, off handedly, that they are busy. However, they would despatch by DPD for next day delivery. On the 12th I get a Bakery Bits / DPD email saying "sorry to have missed you". I reality no delivery attempt was made - as was evident from CCTV. Confronting the DPD driver today he admitted this.

Frankly, Bakery Bits have absolutely dreadful customer service for internet customers, poor email handling and poor telephone procedures. To thrive this business will need to get its act together and deal with its supply chain. Not recommended that you risk much money here or buy anything that you need for restaurant or bakery use quickly. Disappointing.

who cares if your goods are wet as long as we get your money

Bought two brotforms from this company. They arrived In packaging which was damp, ripped and looked like it had been left outside! Contacted customer services to enquire about the damp goods only to be told to dry them out and they should be ok

Amazing advice really, be careful folks

Totally agree with another reviewer here, Patrick appears deluded with a huge notion of “I’m right, you’re wrong” - arrogance personified! Be extremely careful when dealing with this company/Patrick

Update
In relation to Ben’s comments below my issue predated Covid 19 by some time and virus aside Patrick’s attitude wasn’t good but I accept you have had good experiences. Doesn’t mean this guy is right all the time

Update 2
Sadly Michael we didn’t all have your wonderful experience. Please accept that people like me are entitled to express our views based on factual experience

Do not purchase from these charletons

I have just started to bake my own bread and needed two large loaf tins. I came across this site as it is recommended by "The Observer" allegedly a Quality news paper. On finding the tins I wanted it displayed a message saying that if I ordered within the next 22 hours I would receive them by Friday 21 February. I received an e-mail telling me they would notify me when the goods were dispatched, expecting them today I called and was told that I hadn't selected next day delivery and so would have to wait another 305 days before receiving the item.

I feel conned, cheated - I could have bought the identical product cheaper locally and be using it today for less than the cost of the item I have purchased through these charletons.

Their website is MISLEADING and customer services take a "We've had your money - TOUGH" approach when you complain.

I will contacting trading standards over this issue and will certainly mention it to the Guardian Newspaper - i'm sure they don't want their good name besmirched by this company. .

Shocking

You know, I used to quite like this supplier. Interesting stock, helpful customer service.

Then today, out of the blue, I get a demand for payment. Saying that I, a cash-account holder that had never had a credit account with bakery bits, owed them money for an order placed two months ago.

They insisted that I waste my time looking through bank statements.

Talk about guilty until proven innocent.

I will not give these people a penny of business. I am placing all my future orders elsewhere.

Good riddance bakery bits.

Oh dear, sadly a review with a false name (Ben P) and in response to a bookkeeping error that our bookkeeper tried to apologise for profusely after sending the statement just human error after picking up from her predecessor...not quite how described above. Not a very good first review - we are quite nice really!
