This is an excellent service. A few tweaks here and there from the feedback could improve it more

Barclaycard is fair and approachable when searching for a product.
They give a good credit limit and are very helpful.

Credit card delivery is awfully slow. They don't use first class post. There is no way to email Barclays. They just don't have an email address for customers. None whatsoever. You have to go through a very clunky app.... Which barely works or a telephone system that is incredibly frustrating with a million questions to answer. Eg... Your date of birth and then how old will you be next birthday. Your full mobile tel number and then what's the last 3 digits of your mobile number. List is endless. Best one yet. So you didn't receive your credit card.... Have you set up any recurring payments. Lol.

I have to insert my card details every time I make a payment. Didn't use to be like that. Sometimes doesn't go through, especially when I am clearing the balance. So annoying and outdated App.

This is not a great experience but hope it will make using a credit card a normal everyday experience.

Absolute crap for a service. The card doesnt work abroad, cant rely on it. the app doesnt work when you try to make a payment to them. App shuts down as soon as you go to other bank app to approve the pyment. The website doesnt recognise my card number. The phone automated assistant keeps looping. You guys just shut the bank, please. You are not made for this.

I’ve had an account with Barclays for over 20 years and have been watching the changes—seeing how the bank is evolving in a very positive direction.

My longstanding Barclaycard Avios account was abruptly restricted and I was initially told it had been closed, despite having no missed payments.
I have since been told by Barclaycard’s fraud team that the reason was simply “changed lending criteria,” rather than fraud or misconduct. That generic explanation does not address why a correctly maintained £1,500 facility suddenly became unacceptable after several years.
The handling has been extremely frustrating. I had already completed £8,356 of a £20,000 annual Avios spending target, with around ten months remaining, and had collected more than 92,000 Avios through longstanding use. I also had over 3,000 Avios pending. I have been left seeking answers about the closure notice, reward progress, pending Avios, refunds and credit reporting.
My account-specific agreement distinguishes between restricting further lending and closing the agreement, and normally provides for two months’ written notice. I am still waiting for clear written confirmation of what action was taken, its effective date and the contractual basis.
I have raised a formal complaint and requested a genuine manual review. I hope Barclaycard will provide a clear, evidence-based response rather than another generic explanation.
Update – 18 August 2026: Thank you for responding, Tom. I followed the link provided, but it appears to be Barclaycard’s general contact page rather than a specific route to your team. I have already submitted a detailed formal complaint with supporting evidence through Barclaycard’s official channels and am awaiting a substantive response. If there is a specific secure route through which your team can assist or escalate the existing complaint, please provide it.

I've had a platinum Barclaycard card for years now and never miss not one payment. But in may I was hospitalized for almost 2 weeks because I suffered severe heart failure and I couldn't get to the bank to transfer funds over to pay my bills. When I got out I paid what was owed including the late payment fee and got my account up to date. Now they have lowered my credit limit amount and sending me emails now saying that I'm close to my credit limit and also when I log it's saying I need to make a payment because I may go over my limit. Barclaycard please read this. If you didn't lower my credit amount available to me I wouldn't be close to my credit limit. I am paying off a balance transfer I have with you and I'm not using my card so there's no chance of going over my limit. As I said I've never missed a payment and always paid on time over the last few years since I've been with you. I think it's disgusting the way you've treated me a long time serving honest customer. I informed barclaycard that I heart heart failure and I was in hospital for a time and the customer services was friendly and said sorry to hear what it happened to me. I told them that was going to pay and get my account up to date which I did and they said ok no further action would be taken and not once did anyone mention about about lowering my credit limit. Very disappointed and once my balance transfer has been paid in full and cleared I'll be closing my account.

After being a customer for 20 + years I’ve been treated disgusting. Been told an absolute load of rubbish about my cards , which are now paid off and accounts closed. Would never use them again , always trusted Barclays , but not anymore ever .

Had a letter from debt collectors today. On the letter they put that owe just over 1.300. So I called the debt collectors that I never had a Barclay card and never used one. So they asked the postcode of my property, and apparently it was second of point of contact. The primary contact was totally different and nothing to do with the property I live in and me.So the debt collectors deleted it off there system. So it show how secure barclaycard is.
