Bad service

I ordered a battery from them. They did not deliver it in reasonable time (I waited for a week). I went and bought one from a dealer as I needed it ASAP and cancelled the order. They refunded me for the battery, but charged me £15 for postage and return.
I can't explain to myself how am I paying for postage for something I haven't even seen?! They may as well have never sent it.

I would not use them again and would not recommend them.

Would avoid this company

Would avoid this company. My battery started leaking about 3 months after purchase. Despite a dialogue with their customer services apparently because the battery is such 'high quality' I must have damaged it myself to cause the problem. Big claim considering they haven't asked to inspect the battery. In future will only buy direct from a dealer. Completely let down by these arrogant cowboys. Yes the price is good but if you encounter a problem then best of luck.

Stock control system does not work - orders accepted for out-of-stock items

I ordered a Victron Argofet from their Ebay shop. The order was accepted, paid for and confirmed. Then I got an email saying it was out of stock. The job was held up because of this. Then I ordered a Bluetooth dongle from their own website. Again the order was accepted, paid for, confirmed, and I got a tracking number. Next thing that happened was I received a telephone call saying this was out of stock too! So once again the job was held up. I got refunds but I can't afford to be messed about like this. Their stock control system just does not work. It allows them to accept orders for non-existent stock. One of the absolutely key things for an online business is that the stock control system must be transparent to the customer. In other words, the system should show the customer the same information about stock that the supplier themselves has, so when a customer places an order they KNOW the item they are buying is available. I wouldn't accuse them of fraud because I don't think they are acting dishonestly, but they really do need to hire someone to set their stock control system up properly so when they offer a product for sale the customer can actually receive it.

Minus 10 stars
I have given one star, unfortunately minus 10 stars is not available.
I browsed for a 027 bosch s5005 car van battery and one option was battery megastore on ebay. Their ad was tagged/ and headed 027 heavy duty Bosch s5005 car van battery 12v , NO MENTION OF EQUIVALENT IN THE HEADING, so I purchased. What arrived was a Hankook battery. When I received the delivery, I then made the complaint that it was the wrong battery sent. They responded that it is the equivalent and that there is a picture in the ebay ad of that battery and so that's what I bought. After this complaint, they then almost immediately sent an invoice for the Hankook battery (are you thinking what I am thinking). Both my ebay order details and my paypal transaction details only mention the Bosch battery and NO EQUIVALENT/NO HANKOOK They are willing to refund as long as I pay for the return postage. I have the right under British distance selling laws to a full refund, and they have to pay for the postage, as the goods received were not the goods ordered. Also they have an inappropriate listing and have contravened ebay listing policy. For example:Brand names, celebrities or other product details can't be specified in a listing if you're not selling an item by those brands; confusing or unclear titles or subtitles incorrect or inconsistent information. Yet they still say I bought what's in the picture. Look at some of their other adverts and you will see some have sit-on-mowers and even caravans in the battery product picture, I wonder if you buy the battery, will you get these?.
It is in the hands of Paypal at present and maybe trading standards next.
Of course, I have had to buy a battery from a reputable dealer in the mean time as the battery was urgent. I leave you to make your own judgements.
No doubt they will respond to this review the same way they have responded to other negative reviews, but I leave you to judge the way these people trade and how they respond to this review. To me, it seems they don't know how to trade legally.
I should have read other negative reviews first.
Update:
Battery Megastore have reported this review for breach of trustpilot's guidelines.
Reply to battery megastore.
I Believe (and maybe others) you dont know or care about consumer rights.I will leave it with paypal for the time being and then maybe trading standards.
Do battery mega store really think other people do not know their consumer rights ?? Do they think we are all stupid and will be pushed around? Never!
The title says I quote " 027-Heavy-Duty-Bosch-S5005-Car-Van-Battery-12V-63Ah-4-Yr-Wty-Next-Day-Delivery"
Its there for all those reading this review to see ,untill it is removed by ebay.
So your reply is as misleading as your ad I would say.

Last update, Paypal refunded my money and also refunded the return postage so ,seems I was within my consumer rights and battery megastore were not trading as they should have been.CASE CLOSED.

At the best bullish and the worst rude and arrogant.

At the best bullish and the worst rude and arrogant.

When they supplied me the wrong battery the girl on the phone was rude, arrogant and would not give me her name or the name of her manager, and then wanted to charge me another £15 for supplying the right one which was cheaper than the original. BUYER BEWARE!

In reply to your post, can a make a couple of points clear.

1. I did not order a MF54523. I ordered, and I quote from the header in your listing, Car Battery, Nissan Micra II (K11) 1.0 i 16V / 1.3 i 16V 01/92 -02/2003, which was explained to the arrogant girl, just before she refused to give me her name or the name of her manager.
2.The Girl made I quite clear the £15 was for the replacement and it was at my cost to return the wrong one.
I hope none of your other customers have to deal with this person as she will seriously effect your day to day business. If anybody has been treated unfairly.. I think its me.

Good battery company.

I have bought loads of battery's inverters and chargers from this company and in my mind they offer the best price and have an excellent range of equipment.

All batteries come off the production lines in working order so if sometimes a battery fails soon after installation then 9 times out of 10 its not being charged correctly or in the case of a car it is often the alternator that is knackered and is why the previous battery died in the first place. Learn about mechanics people! and as far as delivery is concerned i have always collected the equipment from the shop as I expect they are a massive pain to send because batteries are really heavy.

Dishonest

Confirmed items in stock, ordered them, paid for them, had email confirmation, then despatch notice to say would be delivered the following day. Then had a phone call to say items out of stock, but no refund for 3 days!!! Asked to speak with the MD not available, was told they would ring the following day, still heard nothing.
To make things worse they were and have been advertising item as still in stock - Do Not Use, they take your money, then tell you there out of stock and will then order for you - total dishonesty!!

It is a shame that you feel you had to reply with dishonesty - We were told by Battery Megastore that is would take 3 days so I am quoting what was stated and we were assured we would get a call back the following day of which we are still waiting... In addition we did check the stock levels the next day along with the day after and these were still showing as in stock, we have also reported to eBay for contravening their policy.
'as previously stated- dishonest'

Terrible

I'm not one for usually writing reviews but I'm so angry.
Just left Tewkesbury branch. They one have one member of staff today, you'd think with it being the coldest day so far, they might have more staff????
Waited an hour and ended up getting a battery to take home and fit myself. I've waited an hour for No reason, go figure.
My advice to anyone is to use another company. I WONT be a returning customer and will ensure everyone I know is the same.

UTTERLY SHOCKING SERVICE!!!!!

Purchased my battery back in December 2012 through eBay, been an ok battery until recently it's malfunctioned.
I call up battery megastore to claim a new one on warranty, told I need an invoice number, ok I hunt my email for an email from them with the number they are wanting, no email, I have searched thoroughly for an email, even as far as calling tech teams at Outlook/Hotmail, eBay and PayPal. Outlook/Hotmail confirmed there was never an email received from them so I have no order number to claim on my warranty!
I have 12 months left on my warranty, have all the purchase proof anyone would need but because there is no ORDER NUMBER they won't do a thing! Probably no order number down to the fact I ordered from eBay, not direct!
So still with 12 months of warranty left I'm left with a heavy paperweight for a battery. Not overly impressed with the warrant 'procedures' of this place.
So because I was never issued an order number via email I can not use my warranty, process is made bias for the companies interest by the looks of it. Looks like it's phone calls to seek advice on the matter now then.

never ever ever deal with this company

There is not enough space on this post to tell my story or explain my absolute mis-trust and hatred for this company it only gets one as that is mi8nimum this site would allow if it was down to me would not rate at all. NEVER been so annoyed at a company or its policies which act for themselves. Warranties are USELESS like this company. You deal with this company you may as well give your money away as you will be for no product or warranty back up. Give it to the homeless at least you will have given it to a good cause

A right pain in the preverbial

I got a battery of these guys for my car it failed within 2 months and since then it has been a nightmare to get a replacement. They want a battery report but the thing is knackered wont raise or take a charge. took it to my garage as requested they advised quite candidly that it is in their opinion SCRAP. But these guys still want a report. How can I get a report when the thing is goosed wont take or retain a charge...when it is knackered its knackered so don't ask for irrelevant and useless reports that cant be done on a lump of scrap

One month for delivery, battery picker chose wrong size battery and the one received was a different make to what I ordered!

Ordered a battery in January because the website stated next day delivery, and the car picker lets you choose a battery for your specific make and model of car. After several days I contacted Battery Megastore to be told it's with UK Mail. Waited and waited, no response. Emailed again and was told they would find out what was happening from UK Mail - didn't hear back. After several more chases I was told UK Mail had a problem with my postcode it turned out this was incorrect. Gave correct deals and was told this would be sent on to UK Mail. I checked the dimensions of my existing battery and became concerned that the details on the Battery Megastore battery picker was incorrect as the one I'd ordered looked too big for my car (despite their website stating it was compatible). I told them and was told it could be returned if it didn't fit. Waited and waited, chased and chased, nothing. After a month I demanded a refund only to be told the battery would be with me the next day. A few days later it turned up. Except I had ordered an Alphaline and this was a different make - and it didn't fit! I complained on 08/03/2015 and received a reply at 16:50 the next day saying that the website says to check the dimensions are correct - it doesn't. I replied to demand a full refund and I'm still waiting to hear back. I will never use these people again - I've been lumbered with the wrong battery, it took months to arrive, and Battery Megastore aren't even bothering to respond to my complaint properly. They also *only* ever seem to reply to emails ten minutes before they close. I'm reporting them to trading standards and will be going to the small claims court.

THIS SELLER SELLS FAKE BATTERIES.

I ordered and paid for genuine Samsung battery for my Galaxy S3 but the battery I received was not genuine. I returned the battery for refund but it came back to me saying "addressee gone away". They have given wrong return address on their web site, when you return something it comes back to you.

I have now contacted my card issuer and asked to recover the money for me.

Very Poor Service

Today, (31.7.14) I ordered two leisure batteries from Megastore to be delivered on Wed.6.8.14. I specified I don't want to order if they cannot be delivered on the agreed date. I paid the money by card (£252) and they promised the delivery on the specified date. I phone d them on Mon. (4.8.13) after a loosely worded message saying the batteries were out of stock and would not be delivered on said date. Megastore confirmed they were out of stock when I phoned. After speaking to a member of staff, I was told my money would be returned to my account, however, I would not see it for a few days. This meant I would be wasting a week before I have the batteries delivered by another company. Now that is poor service!
