Terrible...Had 2 ovens (of the same model) where the fan cut out during cooking. No one from Hoover/Candy could give me a straight answer as to whether this was supposed to happen or not. It does not say ANYWHERE on line or in manual that the fan turns off during cooking. A single tray of chips taking 50 mins to cook..and they are trying to fob me off and tell me this Is correct !!! Returned both and went for a Bosch in the end.
Lesson learnt ..Buy cheap buy twice !
Terrible sub standard product.
Terrible customer service.

Absolutely disgusted

Absolutely disgusted, had hob fitted in Nov, it blew the electrics so sent for engineer he came after a few weeks wait but wouldn’t touch it because of it being on sealant, but reported it as not being wired properly ( it had worked for a few weeks) this now was Christmas week . The electrician came back and checked it was wired right .Beaumatic wouldn’t do anything and wouldn’t send a copy of the report . Had to have a new hob fitted 2 days before Christmas. This is the treatment for a 77yr old. They will not answer any e- mails.

Baumatic Cooker - Zero rating

Bought Baumatic Cooker - If I could zero rate this I would. The hob is a accident waiting to happen, the big gas is on the front. There is nothing good about the oven part, if I could send it back I would in a heart beat.
Just avoid this cooker at all costs

Baumatic/Hoover Serious Quality Issues & Price Gouging?

Hello there. Whilst we probably don't need to add to the woeful record Baumatic/Hoover [Hoover bought Baumatic in 2013] have with this brand, and one gets the impression that they're not in the slightest bit interested.
Much of what we have experienced seems fairly common and previously we've just sucked it up, rather than waste too much of our life with these businesses.
The bottom line advice is avoid this brand!
Anyway going back to the original purchase, having installed the Range Cooker it looked nice. However what we discoverd was it hadn't been fully assembled , with the Fan cover and numerous screws missing. These were to be found in a lower compartment. Chose to sort out myself.
Coming up to end of warranty the oven door glass cracked near one of the handle connectors, and its a bit like windscreen glass and whole thing proceeds to disintegrate. Long and short of it, glass wasn't covered and had to buy a new one. First one came already smashed, packaged in flimsy cardboard.
Was duly replaced. When I came to fit the new glass, what became obvious was that the protective sleeve around the handle bolt was missing on one side- ..the side where it originally cracked. Not only would they have nothing to do with this issue I had to buy new sleeves to fit the glass myself.
Time goes on and the oven selector switch has given up the ghost. Baumatic no longer seem to do spares online and telephone enquiries to Spares or Customer services are premium rate numbers.
Searching online, there are various 3rd party distributors and these oven selector switches seem widely available.
Browsing various sites most brands of selector seem to be £10 to £20, except ours is £155 -woohoo.
This turns out to be in the UK, whilst on european sites they're about 20 euros.
Patently getting hold of one in a hurry currently seems to be troublesome and 4th Jan saw my italian order cancelled and refunded...another story.
I guess I'll have to pay these charlatans [tbh 3rd parties just passing on Baumatic/Hoover pricing].
Anyway coughed up for my genuine original equipment part, but instead receive fairly obviously alternative cheap part which not only is a different size, but doesn't fit properly and the oven controls are in a different order to the markings on the knob.
Discussions ongoing, and I'm not very optimistic.

Purchased a washing machine on…

Purchased a washing machine on 14/11/2020, which was delivered on the 17th November 2020. It broke down on the 18th of December 2020. i was told it would be five days before an engineer could come out to repair it. He came on the 22nd of December 2020, and could not repair it, as the bolt had sheared off, leaving part of the bolt still attached inside the machine. He tried to drill the bolt out, but it didn't work. The wheel had come off, hence the belt had come off too, so that was why it wouldn't spin The engineer said to see if a new machine could be swapped for this one. He made an appointment for 6/01/2021, in case they wouldn't swap it, whilst he could order the parts, as they didn't have any in stock. The whole unit inside the machine would have to be replaced. I rang AO, who agreed to swap the machine, but not for another Baumatic, as I don't want another one ever again. I've tried to cancel the engineer appointment through Baumatic, to no avail. I'm put through to a department, then no one will answer the phone. I gave up after half an hour. Surely one person could pick up the phone, or there could be a facility whereby I could leave a message, just to say to cancel the engineer coming. If Baumatic do read this, perhaps they could cancel the appointment, or they could contact me, which would be useful.

Utterly appalling

Utterly appalling. Top shelf has never worked well - the arm has fallen off frequently (every 2 a 3 washes) and contacting the company for a replacement part has been met with no response at all. Cheap, but actually very cheap in terms of quality and service avoid the initial saving and avoid at all costs - a lousy product and company.

If I could give a zero star rating I…

If I could give a zero star rating I would.
This has truly been the worst consumer experience I've ever had!
We bought a Baumatic Washing Machine from Ao.com which we were charged £416 mid June this year to have delivered and fitted, with our old machine taken away and recycled.
The delivery came and the guys who were taking it off the van were good enough to point out that there was some damage to the computer panel on the front of the machine when they were unloading it.
We politely refused the delivery, considering we had paid for a brand new washing machine in perfect working order and had every right to expect to receive that.
We then had to wait for them to send a replacement which we were told should come on the 30th of June. When the new machine arrived, the guy told us he couldn't fit it as we had a fitted kitchen and did not want the aggro of trying to make it fit in place with our other appliances.
We just wanted our machine linked up so we could do our laundry in our own home again and asked if he could just connect it for us and we would have to get the thing set in place place balanced and the fitted cupboard door put back on.
We got the fitting cost of £100 deducted from our bill.
A few weeks ago ( Mid August ) the washing machine stopped working mid cycle and has not worked or drained since then!

This machine at just under 2 months old and has packed up already and now it's proving impossible to get hold of AO on the phone for love nor money!
It does not matter what time of the day you call there is always a recorded message saying the wait time for a customer representative is over 40 minutes! This is most likely to deter people from holding on to speak to the customer services department, however I persevered several times, most of which lead me to a dead end or to the phone being put down after 45 - 50 mins on hold listening to 80s pop music on loop!

After getting through on one occasion I was informed that as we've had the machine for more than 28 days I would have to call the manufacturer as its now their responsibility to come and repair it.
I was stunned that an appliance such as this (which was not cheap) could have broken down in such a short period of time leaving me with no option now but to have a repair, thereby rendering it practically second hand but all for the price of a brand new machine!

I contacted Baumatic ( Hoover / Candy) who have put me through the mill over the last few weeks trying to get this machine repaired instead of doing a straightforward exchange as one would expect in a situation like this.
The first technician said he had never seen anything like this before as the motherboard had a fault and needed completely replacing.
I asked for a replacement machine and was told that they were only there to repair it.

I was left for yet another week with the machine full of water until today another technician came round, upended my kitchen after saying it was not his responsibility to move the defective machine out of its place for him to do his job!
I asked if it was MY responsibility as 5'1"woman to move the machine myself when this was a unit that I had paid good money for and it had broken down due to no fault of my own.
He was rude enough to tell me that it IS my problem and started to pack up his things to leave.

I asked him to call his manager to explain how they were going to rectify this fiasco leaving me once again without a working machine and with my other appliances he had pulled out into the middle of the kitchen needing to be pushed back into place.
He told me in no uncertain terms that he was leaving and that he would call the police if I did not let him walk out right away without calling his head office!

I have just spent the last 2 and a half hours on a call to Customer services at Hoover / Candy who have said they are sorry but as they didn't directly sell the machine to me I have to take it up with AO, even though THEY have the responsibility to repair it and are making every excuse not to!
I asked for the name of the main manager in charge and the postal address where I could write my official complaint but I was told they couldn't give that to me but I could write to the CEO of Hoover Candy based in Wales if I wanted to!
I am now in a situation where I have paid through the nose for a machine which doesn't work, that I cannot physically move myself, and that the manufacturers are making every excuse not to repair, and AO hiding behind a false wall of customer service hold music forever to avoid dealing with a machine they have sold me that is not fit for purpose.
I am absolutely livid with how this has been handled and am now looking to escalate this through the legal process if I have to, to get my money back as this is unheard of !
I have NEVER thought I would be in a situation where I felt I had no rights after buying a brand new appliance in this country !
AO and Baumatic are a disgrace!

We recently bought a Baumatic rangehood. Looks smart, but the installation of the 2 piece stainless chimney arrangement was an exercise in total exasperation. Holes weren't drilled. The Instruction Manual is poor. Metalwork required alteration. The instal which should have been simple, took at least 6 hours. Wish I'd spent more money on an F & P or european appliance. I don't think we'd ever buy another Baumatic appliance.

Terrible design

I bought a baumatic hob, worst decision ever, most infuriating and badly designed hob ever, wont switch on when you want it to, but will switch on rings when you don't!!.

Controls are at the front, just where you are going to put things whilst cooking so get accidentally turned on or turned up just when you don't want, all it takes, you take the lid off a boiling pan and put it down for a moment, the steam creates moisture on the hob, that activates the controls!

Equally the hob is unresponsive, you turn a ring down, wait a minute, the ring gets turned down, the only way to speed it up, turn the hob off, then turn back on and reset the rings to where you want.

Clearly baumatic engineers don't do any cooking and don't talk to users whilst designing things.

DO NOT BUY BAUMATIC EVER.

Seems like a good deal.... really NOT

I bought a Baumatic oven and hob together from AO. The service from AO was faultless but it went downhill after that. The oven only came with 1 oven tray so I had to immediately order another, cant feed a family with just 1 tray. The temperature dial does not tally up with actual oven temperature, necessitating use of an oven thermometer to cook at the right temperature.

Then 2 months in the door seal just suddenly snapped, so the oven leaks heat. 6 phone calls to Baumatic and every operator has stated I must pay combined fee of around £200 for call out and repair, even under warranty. They flat refuse to simply post me a new oven seal to fit myself. They do not respond to emails, tweets, facebook messages etc and the call centre staff are rude and unhelpful. So now I have to fork out more cash to repair the seal myself. Buy Baumatic at your peril.

Warranty is worthless

Bought a baumatic oven due to its 2 year warranty. Breaks after 14 months. Waiting 8 days for an engineer to call he turns in 5 mins states that he is not trained for that error code and leaves. Call back hoover/candy who states I have to have the same engineer return and make him ring the technical helpdesk whilst he is at the property. In addition if they cannot repair I need to go back to AO.com for a replacement. Warranty is worthless. Brand is awful. Stay away from any product

Very poor appliances.
Dishwasher leaves the dishes very dirty and takes 90 mins.
Washing machine is a nightmare. Clothes stink and not properly washed. Cant open the door.
Hobs just burn food.
Fridge is forever leaking water.

I am really surprised this company has not gone bust. You would have to be crazy to buy from them. I only have them because they came with the flat.

So many faults and poor cooking.

We purchased a Baumatic BOM984 Built in Double Oven from one of the big on-line retailers. I do not normally post negative reviews but this is unacceptable.

First of all it is the same chassis and engineer as many of the Candy, Hotpoint and others so most of the complaints apply to other models as well.

1. The alert noise that it makes when the timer finishes is so quiet it is impossible to hear unless you are in the room. The work around suggested was to use the end-timer which switches it off or buy a stop watch. All brands suffer this feature.

2. It arrived with one shelf per cavity. Seriously ? Does no-one in the company cook and understand why this is rubbish.

3. The black finish means you cannot see the markings for the three buttons that operate the controller. A small detail but really annoying every time you use it.

4. If you get a powercut and the clock switches off it will not return to cooking when the power comes back on. It requires a manual button push to set the clock to anything in order to allow power to the main oven to return.

5. The warranty is short and confusing. The paperwork said 2 years parts and labour with 5 years parts. When speaking to the help line they claim one year parts/labour. Given what happened it needs to be longer.

6. The black finish makes the windows into the oven so dark you cannot see the food very well. Probably true of many black fronted ovens but not practical with cakes etc.

When it first arrived it the fan failed in the first week. The engineer did not have quite the right part but managed to replace it.

Recently we used it a few times and found it cooked like a beast. We bought some oven thermometers as it was a lot hotter on the right hand side of the main cavity. They showed a difference of >30'c from side to side. The control was set to 190 but the LHSide was 210 and the RHS 235. We made a ginger cake and the back right was full height. The front left had hardly risen at all.

The small sealing plastic/rubber ring around the main oven had sagged across the top and no longer covered the rim of the oven.

We tried using the Pizza setting (lower heat plate) only to find that the ceramic coating had developed cracks around the metal curves in the panel. These were large enough that food and oils would have got in them. This will not bode well for the long term health of the unit or the cleanliness and safety when cooking. Unhygienic and unacceptable.

The engineer was booked and came within a couple of days. He did not have the parts and passed a message onto a replacement appointment. On arrival the second engineer had wrong information but most of the right parts. Top and bottom heating elements as well as temperature probe replaced.

Following this we cooked food and when we checked 30 minutes into the 60 minute time it was cremated. We used the thermometers and found the 180'c setting was actually 260'c. We checked again the next day and the element went on and stayed on way past the temperature. It had lost control completely.

The unit was then replaced, they did not have a Baumatic in stock and so a Candy version of the same unit was provided. All same design problems still exist, bleeper, shelves etc.

Now the replacement is failing as well. A fan oven is meant to be -20'c below normal for cooking, this one is -20'c below the control and worse from side to side. If you set 180 it has trouble reaching 160 and is worse on the other side. We even purchased a digital thermo to see if the others were broken after being boiled in the previous ones bad day. Now it is >20'c different from side to side but neither are up to the level of the setting.

We also known someone else who purchased the Silver version. Same issues. The door seal just fell out. The engineer who visited did not even have the spare. Then recommended our 88 year old arthritic mother fitted it herself. Way to go for caring and service fellas.

This is a totally rubbish product. RUBBISH. Just make certain you don't end up buying it under one of it's many other brand/model identities. Not fit for purpose.

Same problem no support from Beaumatic.

Basically reported a problem, engineer came to see the problem. I was told there wasn’t one. Engineer was called again. Still no problem according to Beaumatic. Now the problem is so bad that every time I open the fridge I have a pool of water on which the whole family is slipping on very regularly because there is just so much water coming out of the fridge. Kids often lose their balance near the fridge as the surface is so slippery with all that water. Beaumatic are now saying the warranty is out of date and it doesn’t matter if I was told there was no problem when it was under warranty!!!! Really doesn’t seem right nor does it seem fair.

Avoid this company like the Plague - crooked operators!!

Purchased an oven/ hob less than one year ago. Its supposed to be under manufacturer's warranty.
Within the one year warranty period, the glass door of the oven shattered on its own - probably due to shoddy production quality. Luckily no one in the house got injured.
I tried to contact this company to claim under the warranty. Discovered that the warranty is essentially a sham. The lady on the call said that the warranty covers only mechanical and electrical faults. Despite repeatedly asking, she would not define what this means and whether the glass breaking on the oven door would be covered under the "warranty".
She kept parroting that I can book an engineer call-out and the the engineer would decide whether the fault is covered under the warranty. If not, then they would charge me £120! Best of all - she says that in order to avoid the £120 charge - I can always purchase additional protection from these crooks!!
Avoid this company like the plague!!!
