The end of the great Belk retail experience

I have shopped in store for many years. Basically, satisfied. A few years ago I began shopping with them on line. During pandemic at Christmas. Had a few issues but mostly it went well enough. Fast forward to 2024. They have hands down the worst online service and customer service I’ve ever experienced. Rude ppl who seem to lack training and the only thing they are authorized to offer you when you have been thoroughly screwed over is an apology. Really? Read the reviews of your business online. They are horrible. In a way, I’m glad I got pissed enough to stop shopping there before I got taken advantage of in the much more costly way other reviewers have. You have to ask yourself what kind of executives make the decision to spend millions earning your business and not have the business acumen to spend the far less amount it would cost to keep it.

Belk defrauds customers

Belk is the worst fraudulent company on earth. I bought 2 polos. First, the firm sent the wrong sizes. I returned the wrong products, intending to exchange for the correct sizes. Belk shipped the same products I returned back to me. Upon visiting online to return the wrong goods, there was no option to do so. In other words, I am stuck with wrong products

Lost order …

I placed a order on August11 with Belk.com
Did not receive it but the money was taken from my account.
Belk can not find my order and will not refund my $112.11

Returns are a complete scam

Returns are a complete scam. You pay for delivery, and when you return an item, they not only keep the money for shipping it back, but take off additional money by putting in a disclaimer with your estimated* refund:

I returned an item I did not even try on, for which I paid $15.47? Nice scam.

Complete misrepresentation.

I know the this item well as I have purchased it from other stores. When items arrived they were not as pictured, and had an odor. I attempted a return on line, but info stated I could not do so until after a date that was a month away! Unheard of! I called to initiate the return. The rep allowed me to do so, but included only one (of the 4) identical items in my order. She did not, however, disclose this. I had to ask how much I was to be refunded to discover it was only one item. She then agreed to refund all items on my order. I was told I would be charged return shipping only AFTER I asked about it. When I stated I would not do so for a defective item, shipping was waved. I am skeptical as to what will ultimately show up on my credit card. In short, misrepresentation, evasion, concealment, and no disclosure. In other words they lie. I don’t know how this company can operate in the US with such practices.

Total crooks. Don't give them your money!

I bought a pair of sandals from Belk in the UK. Unknown to me, the order was fulfilled by a company in China, which took two weeks.

Both soles split after three days! Under UK consumer law I am entitled to a full refund. When I sent photos and complained, all they offered was 15%. Either that or post back to China at my expense.

Paid full price, sent same item with sale price attached

I’m a stylist and found the last pair of a certain style of Frye boots on their site. We ordered with her credit card. These boots are almost $500 so I was surprised when they arrived in just a plastic bag with no box and held together with a zip tie.
On the bottom of the boot was a sale price tag for over $100 less. I just spoke to customer service, rude and not informed on dealing with any situation that doesn’t fall neatly inside the lines. Waiting for a manager to call back, wish me luck. Will never order from them again, they are worse than Walmart, which is horrific

Returns are NOT free. $10 per item.
Sent 3 items back in one package with return slip for each. They claim they only received 1 item. 15 days, still no refund on any.
Scam company. Foreign reps cannot understand or resolve issues.

I sent my package to the wrong address…

I sent my package to the wrong address after 3 phone calls, 1 call 1 hour after I made my order, and 2 emails in 3 days. After being on the phone for well over an hour I got nothing. I was never contacted by Belk after my emails that were sent. Very disappointed I will probably never see my 300 dollar order. I wish I would have read the reviews about Belk before ordering. Needless to say I will never buy from Belk again.

Do not order from this company!

I will never order from this company again! I was charged $9.95 shipping to purchase an item and I was charged $9.95 to return the same item. I was charged $37.45 for the item and only received $17.55 as my refund. Basically, I was charged $20.00 for an item I didn’t even keep!!

Never ever have I dealt with a company sooooo ignorant. Don't reply to emails. When they did return 1!!!! Yes 1 didn't he say who they were. Was some Chinese writing at the bottom. Waiting on my money back . That was 3 days ago they said paid it in. RUDE is too mild a word for this company. My bank know about it .and I have a screenshot of them telling me they are returning my money
Took 10 emails to them for me to cancel the order. Then that is when I received the email to say order cancelled. And money would be returned. I phoned my bank again today
As it has been 3 days since I got the email. The bank said they looked into Belkstore policy of money return. It says it takes UP TO 15!!!!! DAYS
BIZARRE is a word I would use.
NEVER AGAIN WILL I ORDER OFF THE INTERNET . THROUGH ADVERT ON FACEBOOK

I have been to the Belks in Gallatin…

I have been to the Belks in Gallatin twice and I have to say that the store is a complete mess.

More than anything though, the prices, even with discounts are absolutely ridiculous! I don’t know who is paying these prices!!

Also the colors are aimed at ladies of a certain age. How is this store even in business still?

Poor customer service

Belk customer service has really gone down. I live in America, please hire some American speaking agents. I'm tired of dealing with the language barrier and rude agents who don't know what they are doing. 45 minutes to make an order for a belt and I was still over charged. This is ridiculous!!!

Belk Scam

I made an online purchase totaling $105.67. I returned the entire order to Belk through FedEx, which they have received. I was refunded only $85.07. I've inquired several times about what constitutes the $20.60 difference between what I spent originally and what I was refunded. I've been told several different things, the latest of which is that there was a $9.95 return shipping charge. Well, of course, that doesn't account for the entire $20.60 difference, and nobody at Belk can seem to tell me what the other $10.65 was deducted for. Simple theft if you ask me. If I don't get that $10.65 I will never purchase another thing from Belk and I will tell everybody I know not to, and that will cost Belk a lot more in the long run than $10.65, but I guess that's why this company isn't doing so well. They don't know how to do simple math, they don't know how to honestly refund a person's money when they return merchandise, and they don't think ahead about the consequences of their terrible customer service.

Shipping costs- Not worth it

I recently purchased a pair of boots and the boot was uncomfortable. I had paid $10 to ship boots to my address and had to pay $10 to return the boots. Net loss was $20

Awful

I ordered 3 pairs of sandals in a different colour in the same size from this company. I received 2 pairs of the same size and a pair of beach shoes which I hadn’t even seen never mind ordered. The quality was absolute rubbish!
I’ve tried to get in touch with them but emails bounce back and phone not answered. Needless to say I won’t be using this company again.
