I've placed an order with Bergzeit.be on the 17th of July. Estimated delivery time displayed on the website is 2-4 working days. Today we are the 4th of August and I have yet to receive my package. That makes 18 days and counting.
Bergzeit.be provided me with a track & trace code from DHL. When I try to trace that code it mentions DHL has transferred the package to BPOST. When I track the BPOST code it mentions my package is being held by the customs.
However I placed an order on Bergzeit.be. Belgian url, paid Belgian taxes and nowhere was stated this package was going to be send from outside of the EU.
Tracing the package shows us that the original package was send from Switzerland, to Germany and finally Belgium.
I have been trying to reach out to Bergzeit customer service on various occasions with various platforms.
- I've send them a formal complaint and question regarding the customs import fee using the form on their website on Thursday 28th of July. No answer.
- I called them on the customer service number stated on the BE website to follow up on my submitted form. I got to talk with "Leia" who was very unhelpful and couldnt provide me with any answers. We agreed she would send me a follow up email of my question on Monday the 1st of August, which I have yet to receive. On top of that "Leia" did not speak Dutch and her English was below average which made communicating very hard.
- We contacted the customer service team via Facebook on Tuesday 2nd. No answer.
- I contacted Instagram customer service team on Wednesday. Again, no answer.
We're starting to feel hopeless by now. Again, 18 days and counting for a package that has been paid in full and nobody to reach out to.
I recommend to avoid Bergzeit at all costs.
They do not follow up on their promises and it seems impossible to get in touch with them. We have no clue whether or not we're ever going to receive this package. If we ever receive this we'll probably have to pay additional custom import fees, not stated on their website at all.

The shop cancelled 2 pairs of my orders (4 orders out of 5). All orders were placed with the same cards. The first one has already been received, no questions were asked by the shop. The next two the shop cancelled (payment was also via PayPal) without explaining why it did so. After the refund, I decided to try again and placed the order directly with 2 different credit cards. The money was charged, the order was confirmed, but cancelled 3 hours later.
As a result, I don't know when my money will come back, but I already lost 5 days to buy from this shop, and the shop couldn't explain anything clear to me, except that the bank that issued the card and me, are in different countries 🤦🏻 What did not stop them to accept the first payment. Will have to order from another shop that is interested in my money, apparently that's what you were after.

Horrible experience, they shipped us defected goods, which we had to return for an expensive return price. No communication from their side.
Ordered a rope on a Thursday, realised the incorrect delivery address was on the order, immediately emailed Berzeit twice on the Thursday, once via the web form and once via the customer service email. Had a response from them the following Monday stating the order could not be changed. I should receive a refund when the delivery of the order fails and the item is returned to their depot. All in all, no rope for me and a lot of hassle caused by slow / non existent customer service from them. Now ordered a rope from Banana Fingers (whom I should have used in the 1st place). The attempt to make a small saving is just not worth it with Euro retailers now.
I bought two pairs of trainers and returned the pair that did not fit. It has been 3 weeks since I returned the trainers and I have still received no re-fund even though I have spoken to someone on the phone and sent an email. My order number is bz 20209417 if Bergzeit wish to rectify their shambolic customer service.
Ordered on 18th March. Had this message on the 22nd:
It is now awaiting further processing in the Evri (The New Hermes) parcel center. Due to the Corona crisis and extremely huge numbers of packages, our logistics partner is experiencing delays in processing. If your shipment is delayed, we ask for your understanding that nobody can estimate how long the delay will be.
19 days later according to Avri they haven’t got it yet. No replies from Bergzeit. Think this must be a con?

My experience with them so far is positive. Pretty quick dispatch, answering by customer service, and refund.
Based on my experience their score is 4,5/5. I would deal with them again. The only improvement suggestion is more to improve their partners.
Pricing fairly good, delivery times bad. Delivery time indicated on the website 2-4 days. Ordering on Wednesday morning, the order was only picked up by DHL on Monday (i.e. after 5 days). Still in transit on Tuesday in Germany. So, not likely that the package will be delivered anywhere close to the 2-4 days delivery time. What makes it worse is that the customer services center indicated that the package had already left the warehouse on Friday, whereas it was clear that it was not even processed with DHL by then.
I ordered a pair of expensive ice axes for technical climbing. On their website they seemed to be available. They took the money from the card and the next day they announced me that the item its not available and they supposedly refunded me the money. That was 2 weeks ago when they clearly said in theyr e mail that it takes 3 days only...so now i m wondering where is my money???!!!!!! They claim that the bank its being late but they refuse to contact the bank and ask where the hell is my money!
I sorry but this is not the way you supposed to run a bussines.

Horrible customer support. I ordered cycling pants with a seat pad and an outer layer; received only the outer layer. After I made a complaint, the customer support team replied that they will be able to proceed with the claim only after I have made a return request, printed out a return label, and gone out to the post to return the item I received. So, they promise a service and do not deliver, and then they want you to use your time in addition to the money you already paid (!!) to be able to deliver. Impossible.
