Very Quick Service

From the date my GP done the referral to the date I got my meds would have been 2 weeks. (I already had my diagnosis)

The prescriber was friendly and very professional, made me feel comfortable throughout the appointment.

I was referred under RTC with an existing ADHD diagnosis. Quick processing and short wait list for titration. I was quite anxious for my first appointment but my clinician, Suzanne Hawkins was very lovely and positive and made me feel very supported. She is very knowledgeable and gave advice about taking the medication (such as diet, sleep etc). She listens to my feedback and has tailored my medication to try and fit in with my lifestyle. I have been very pleased to have Suzanne as my clinician and would recommend her and Berkeley Psychiatrists to others looking to follow the RTC route.

Exceptional and Utterly Brilliant Psychiatrists

I’ve had both my ADHD assessment with Sarah and my medication review with Suzanne at Berkeley Psychiatrists, and I genuinely couldn’t recommend Berkeley more highly.

The level of professionalism is exceptional. Their knowledge is more than academic/ medical, it's grounded in real-world understanding and genuine insight.

Every piece of advice was thoughtful, carefully considered and tailored to me as an individual.

What surprised me was how much I enjoyed the appointments. I laughed, felt completely at ease, and because of that I was far more open than I expected. They didn’t just ask questions; they created a safe environment, and therefore gained a much deeper understanding of me than I thought possible in a clinical setting.

I was blown away by level of detail and observations in my report. I felt genuinely heard and understood.

The medication review was equally impressive. It wasn’t simply a conversation about medication. We explored how I actually live, and the wider factors affecting my ADHD, so that the decision was the right one for me and not a box-ticking exercise.

My experience wasn’t unique, a friend saw a different psychiatrist at Berkeley, and came away saying exactly the same thing.

If you’re considering an ADHD assessment or treatment, I honestly don’t think you could be in better hands.

I was really nervous going into my ADHD…

I was really nervous going into my ADHD assessment, but Dr Ian Prenelle put me at ease from the very beginning.

It can be really difficult talking about yourself in such a deep and personal way, and there were times during the assessment when I felt quite uneasy or found things difficult to explain. Dr Ian was incredibly patient and helped me to relax, take my time and talk things through without ever making me feel rushed or judged.

He explained each stage of the assessment clearly and, most importantly, made me feel genuinely heard. He was also able to help me understand and put into words some of the feelings and experiences I’ve had, which I found really helpful.

I would highly recommend Dr Ian Prenelle to anyone who is feeling nervous about having an ADHD assessment. He made what I expected to be quite a daunting experience feel comfortable and supportive, and I look forward to continuing to work with him following my diagnosis.

Excellent communication and professional team

The communication throughout my experience so far has been excellent. I struggled at one point to complete information correctly and the admin team were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I felt listened to and understood during quite an emotional situation. The professional staff have also been helpful, attentive and clear with explanations and next steps. Highly recommend.

My ADHD session with Dr Joanna Woodger…

My ADHD session with Dr Joanna Woodger was absolutely fantastic. She was kind, calm and empathetic, which really helped me to feel comfortable from the start(even though it was the first time I had met her). She really listened and I felt like she was asking the right kind of questions and most importantly she was very thorough without making the session feel rushed.

Before the appointment, I was quite worried that 90 minutes might not be enough for a full assessment, but Dr Joanna managed the time really well and covered everything in detail. It took me a lot of time to process the diagnosis, but I came away feeling listened to and understood.

Also want mention the fantastic aftercare from Stacey Barrows. After the session she followed up, I replied with quite a few things that needed action. She literally dealt with every single one of them and resolved everything in one email.

I would recommend Dr Joanna Woodger and the team at Berkeley without any hesitation!

Sarah is Incredible

I spoke with Sarah and when I say she is an incredible person I mean it, her level of understanding and empathy speaks volumes, immediately she was warm, kind and made me feel at ease. I was very nervous, as ADHD is a condition I have struggled with my whole life. I had multiple missed opportunities for diagnoses because of cultural stigma attached and my parents at the time not wanting me to be diagnosed. She made me feel seen and I could let down the mask I had been wearing for years (not very well mind- as my partner on meeting me and sister who I grow up with urged me to be tested). Sarah humanising my experiences and making me feel relieved to not be alone. I truly was in safe hands and I feel so grateful to have seen her today and look forward to continuing to make sense of what I have been going through alone for years and receiving treatment. I want to say thank you Sarah for supporting me on this journey, I am so grateful and look forward to understanding myself with more compassion.

Dr Hollie Hearfield is Incredible

Dear Dr Hollie, thank you for my diagnosis... its taken me a while to process.

I was so glad to have met you and would surely never have known you were assessing me in such an in depth way. I felt incredibly safe in your company and on a zoom call which is a rare thing for me I must say. What has really stayed with me the most is the very beautiful and magical words which you used which described Autism as a treasure that I must hold and dearly and take loving care of... this really made my brain light up.

Thank you again

Sarah Jenkins is a superstar — a diagnosis handled with real humanity

I came to Berkeley Psychiatrists through Right to Choose after 37 years of struggling, wondering, and getting nowhere.

Sarah Jenkins did not just assess me. She spoke with me. She listened. She understood.

That distinction matters more than I can put into words. Anyone can work through a checklist. Sarah made it feel like a conversation between two people, and she never once made me feel like a case to be processed.

She was patient where I needed space. She was clear where I needed clarity. She was human throughout.

I have come away with a diagnosis, yes. But what will stay with me is *how* that diagnosis happened. Sarah gave me an experience I will remember for the right reasons, and after nearly four decades of doubt, that is no small thing.

If Berkeley Psychiatrists are reading this: Sarah deserves to be recognised. She is an asset to your clinic and to everyone who walks through your door.

The whole process was straightforward, well communicated and genuinely dignified. I would recommend this clinic without hesitation.
