Poor aftercare for arising issues

I originally wrote a review linked to the webpage on the information provided on the FB site but have today been informed by the company they had used their sister site web address and therefore as they have updated their details I have deleted the previous review and used this website which is still under construction.

I used a Retford based company from Facebook called Bespoke Kitchen, bathroom and renovations. It had good reviews when I used the company and I met the director Neil who was very reassuring.

I had my bathroom completed in October and even left a review on Facebook originally saying how stunning it was and it is compared to what I had.

All the lack of communication (random contractors just showed up at varying times) and huge delays I even mitigated out due to the gorgeous bathroom I’d been left with once they had fixed the hot and cold tap feed being the wrong way around, scratches on the furniture and chipped tiles.

The project was delayed by 8 days and ruined the plans I had for my 40th birthday. The most anyone worked in the first week was 3/4 hours a day.

After the initial excitement of a new bathroom, I noticed there were some minor silicone and caulking that they’d missed (along with some painting issues as they don’t use tape). The toilet seat kept moving also and the door was rehung but clearly didn’t then open fully. The radiator then developed a fault whereby it kept clicking so loud when it heated up and cooled down that it was waking me up and I had to sleep in the spare room. The grout has developed holes in places and then it’s all cracked around the edges on the floor.

I spent until Christmas Eve’s eve chasing at least weekly for these to be fixed with reassurances that someone would be there and not to worry as I was a priority and thanks for being so patient. In the meanwhile I paid for new fixing for the toilet seat.

I eventually posted a message on the FB page as I found I had been blocked on messenger and received a text someone would be with me the following day. I cancelled all plans at a cost to me as that was the only date they could send someone and they then tried to cancel on the day in the afternoon!

I had someone turn up for 5 minutes on 23rd Dec and left a horrid mess siliconing an inch of the wall aswell but only one side. He said he couldn’t caulk because the wall was dirty... (it isn’t dirt! it’s the same as when they finished the job and just basic plaster showing).

They couldn’t fix the door (an independent person has now fixed it).

They couldn’t fix the radiator as that required one of their heating engineers and they had to speak to their boss about the grout because it must be a faulty batch. I’m still waiting for someone to return my texts nearly TWO months later. I chased again today (24th February) and discovered they will no longer complete any work (I have asked for receipts so I can try to replace the faulty parts myself)

In the meanwhile so I could sleep I had to have a plumber check out the radiator which had leaked!! It’s stained the grout. The radiator now has completely stopped working and the company are refusing to complete any work on the issues identified. The messages I received as to why they are refusing to complete work is because I left a review.

I’m just very disappointed in the company. They definitely know how to convince you to book and pay but such a shame there is no project manager overseeing and the aftercare is so poor. I have subsequently been informed they do have project managers but I’m unaware of one for me personally.

I would have hoped they had stuck to their guarantee that they had given on the work as it is now going to cost me more to rectify the faults.

I have left it so long before leaving this to provide ample opportunity for the company to reply to texts to rectify the issues but it seems once they have your money they no longer care 😞
