Best Western Hotel Stole My Money: “A Tale of Disregard and Disappointment" review with a sense…

I am writing this review with a sense of deep disappointment. I had the misfortune of dealing with Best Western Hotel's customer service, or rather, the lack thereof.

My issue began with an innocent error, an incorrect reservation made due to a faulty Booking.com algorithm misdirection. I immediately called the hotel and rectified the mistake, expecting a swift resolution from Best Western. However, a series of ignored communications and a blatant disregard for my refund request followed.

It is disheartening to see such a well-known establishment choose to hold onto a customer's payment, even when the error was not the customer's fault. The $150 that Best Western has chosen to retain may not seem significant to a large corporation, but it is a matter of principle and respect for the customer.

The silence from Best Western's end speaks volumes about their approach to customer service. It is clear that customer satisfaction is not a priority for them. Instead, they seem to be more interested in holding onto a customer's hard-earned money.

I am left with no choice but to voice my dissatisfaction publicly. I hope that potential customers will read this review and think twice before choosing Best Western. It is not just about the money, but the principle. No customer should be treated with such disregard.

In conclusion, I am a patron that Best Western has permanently lost. I hope that my experience serves as a wake-up call for them to improve their customer service. Until then, I advise potential customers to tread carefully.

Poor customer Relations!

Poor customer Relations! The site and Best Western not the hotel.
I don't travel often, so I booked a non-refundable room rate several weeks ago on bestwestern.com, thinking I would save money by booking ahead. I took the best rate and saw the "low price guarantee," so I was ok with paying ahead of time. However, when I found a better rate closer to my trip date, I contacted the company and was told I booked the wrong type of rate and they wouldn't adjust the price. I admit I didn't read the fine print, so I get this is partially my fault, but things were not very clear on the website, and instead of trying to help, customer service just said, "There's nothing I can do. You booked the wrong kind of rate."
I will not be using the Best Western site again.

My wife and I recently traveled to San…

My wife and I recently traveled to San Diego, to visit family so we booked reservations at the Best Western Seven Seas (04-04-2024/04-07-2024). We arrived about 11:30 pm to check in and received our room key. It was very late and we were very tired and all we wanted to do was get a shower and get some sleep. When we pulled back the sheets and there was dried blood on the sheets where the last person had slept. This was extremely upsetting to us to see someone’s blood staining the sheets of the bed we were supposed to be sleeping in (see Photo). During this time, we also noticed that the hand towels were obviously dirty and wrinkled. I called the front desk to notify the clerk and he readily switched our room. He was very polite and understanding and apologized for the inconvenience. I left my cell number with him as I wanted to talk to the manager when he/she came in the next morning. I was told by the clerk that the managers Sally or Steve would be in around 10:00 am. I stopped in the next morning to see Sally or Steve and was told by Wanda (not a very nice person) that the manager would not be in until 3:00 pm and asked if she could help. I explained what had happened to us last night. At this point she became very indignant and went on to explain that she had “been in the business for 28 years and had never seen or heard of this happening ever before and said that she inspected the room after the maid had cleaned it”. Wow, she was actually called me a liar!!! I wasn’t about to get into a verbal altercation with this employee. I once again, left my number with the front desk clerk so Sally or Steve could call me. The front desk clerk said she would call me in an hour after she talked with her manager. I said that was fine as I wanted to speak to someone about this. Well, it turned out that neither manager had the decency or took the responsibility to call me to address the issue. I was going to talk to the manager about refunding the cost of our room for that night.
Since I didn’t hear from either manager or the front desk clerk, I called the Best Western main number and reached a Customer Service Representative. I explained what had happened to us at the Seven Seas location and asked to speak to a Regional Manager or a Regional Director. I was sent to another CSR and soon realized that I would not get to speak with someone outside of the CSR loop. I did ask her to have that night comped and she gave me points for a free night. As this point, I am very frustrated with not being able to speak with a Regional Manager or Director I agreed with the free night offer and ended the call.
I have to say that I have never been treated like this at any hotel that I have ever stayed at. The lack of concern for our horrible experience and then I was basically called a liar when we I tried to explain the situation to the hotel staff. I know that this is not a perfect world but, I do expect to be treated with some dignity and respect. After everything I had to go through I am asking to have our whole stay refunded. My reasoning for this is the lack of communication from the hotel managers, lack of concern for this incident and the disrespect, condescending tone and accusations from Wanda and not to mention the health and hygiene issue we encountered.
To date no one has returned my phone call, Email or letter to their corporate office. They simply do not care about the consumer!!!

Never Again

Stayed at Best Western Canon City Colorado. Never again. Did not expect a lot from BW but for $170 a night there are better choices.
Stayed 2 nights as part of 50th wedding anniversary trip. Issues were:
- Room not ready till an hour after check in time.
- Programmed keys wrong so on returning day 2 could not get in.
- Toilet was clogged up. Asked desk to fix while we were out for few hours. On return, there was a plunger in the hall requiring me to plunge the toilet myself.
- There were trash cans in the hall catching water from leaking ceiling.
- Breakfast was ok but people waited 15 min for them to replenish eggs.
- No housekeeping. By second night garbage in the one small garbage can was overflowing, no refill on in room coffee etc.

Lady at the front desk was caught eaves…

Lady at the front desk was caught eaves dropping outside my door. When I opened it she accused me of smoking in my room which I did not. This hotel is wrong and I should sue them. I did not smoke in the room!! I am disputing the charges and I am filing a invasion of privacy and discrimination suite against them i do not recommend staying in West siloam springs these people at that best western are horrible and she was saved dropping outside my door!!! I did not smoke in that room and I want all my money back!! This person was lying to get out of being caught eaves dropping. I did not smoke in that room !! I even told her to bring up the camera footage from out back it would show you where I smoked. I did not smoke in that room. I will share on my father's grave!!! This was a horrible experience.

One of the Worst

Stayed in a Best Western in Shippensburg, PA. I am a Best Western member, so I've stayed in a few, this was one of the worst. The office check-in area was dingy and dirty. The "gym" was just a few doors down the hall on the second floor. On the second floor? The room was filthy. Dirt and dead bugs in all the corners of the bathroom. Holes in the carpet and visible dirt on the carpet. Dead bugs here and there throughout the room. The bathroom door was so loss on the hinges, I had to lift the door to close it. the toilet was loose and very low. the sink drain was stuck mostly closed so the sink didn't drain well. The "breakfast room" was dirty and the attendant was silent with no welcome, no how was your stay. I will not stay there again!! The only positive I can give is that after 9PM it was quiet.

Stay at Melbourne city Spencer Street

Stay at Melbourne city Spencer Street. Booked a garden room. The picture advertised a courtyard full of greenery. It was not what was advertised. It was a small concert space with a plain ugly brick wall. No plants. I would have preferred a window instead of this. The room was small but clean. It was quite at night. The shower is so small the water escapes out to the toilet area where there is no drain. Needs more hooks and an extra shelf in bathroom. Staff friendly. Free WiFi is good. It is ok for the price. Not somewhere you would hang out all day but nice enough to get some sleep.

It was easy to make a reservation…

It was easy to make a reservation online. Unfortunately, best western did not honor my reservation at check in. I ordered 3 separate rooms, but was given 2 and a half rooms instead, and promised a 25% discount for the inconvenience. I accepted with the discount. At check out I did not get the discount and was treated very rudely. I called the corporate number number 3 times and they said they would investigate. Well, 3 calls and no response at all and no discount given. I do not recommend going to any best western hotel either domestic or international.

Great Experience Deu to Employee Assistance

I stayed at the Sure Stay Hotel by Best Western, Florence KY 41005, from 5/18-5/20.

My room was as advertised: clean, comfortable, and secure.

My reason for an excellent experience was specifically due to exemplary employee assistance to me by front desk employee Irvin and another employee Jeremy.

My phone died while at the hotel and I had no way to contact anyone, arrange travel, or to be able to fly home.

Irvin graciously assisted me by using his cell phone to go through the process of establishing some link to the digital world. I would not have been able to get home without their assistance.

Best Western Sure Stay is fortunate to have these gentlemen as employees.

poorly managed properties

I have stayed at a variety of best wester properties over the years. They have always been middle of the road to low end. Over the past 2 weeks I have stayed at 3 different bw properties. 2 were horrible (Junction, TX and Tuscon, AZ), 1 was ok. Both horrible hotels had obnoxious staff and maintenance issues. The ok 1 was about what I expected, nothing bad, nothing to brag about either. When I listed my concerns on the review requested by bw, Junction apologized and Tuscon blamed me for the issue. I was also not credited with rewards points for one night.During this time I also stayed at 2 Choice Hotel properties. These hotels met or exceeded expectations. Based on my interactions with bw management, I will be avoiding bw at all costs.

Best Western Yreka

Best Western Yreka. Was nice grounds. Room 102 was a little beat up but comfy. Good WiFi. At breakfast there was a homeless person sitting with 3 full plates of food stacked. Then she filled 2 cups of yogurt. An emp asked her if she had a room. She went off. Unfortunately they allowed her to stay and she kept rambling and bad mouthing the employee. She wanted us to agree with her. It was so unpleasant I lost my appetite and tossed my food in the trash.

Best Western plus

Best Western plus Suprise AZ
04/28/24- 04/30/24… Not only have I worked in the industry for over 20 years renovating hotels, because of that I have had to stay in many while working. This by far is not a new hotel but I will tell you, it was the cleanest, friendliest staff I have ever had the pleasure of being taken care of by. For the price point you might expect far less. The room was clean, well appointed and not smelly in the least. The breakfast was edible, hot and well laid out. They have a noise policy that apparently works pretty well because in my three day stay I was not inconvenienced by a loud guest and the hotel was pretty well filled. Corridors were clean, etc. I could go on and on. I just this property and those who run it deserve a thank you for that these times they came through big time. You have my accolades and deserve them. This was absolutely the worst horrible…

This was absolutely the worst horrible stay I’ve ever had in the 25 years of traveling in the US the hotel best western plus in Wilsonville Oregon will steal your mail and double charge your card for your stay and don’t count on your room getting cleaned if you stay for more than a couple days The general manager refuses to reimburse me for mail that was overnighted that they lost. I have a tracking number I have the receipt and the post office said they delivered it to that location but yet she still refuses to admit it because the bosses daughter collected the mail and took it to another location , be aware travelers if you like getting screwed over and ripped off by all means stay at the best western plus in Wilsonville Oregon you’re better off to keep driving or sleep in your car
