Don’t buy this shit
Don’t buy this shit! I bought a brand new bmw r1250 gs and ! Only 10 months of use my engine broke down on highway 500 miles from home …. Engine was replaced and new engine is making the same noise again….. and bmw is offering me 1.000,00 to pay for my bad experience…. Really? 1000 bucks ? For a 30 k bike ? 500 miles from home without any assistance from bmw ….

So a massive thank you from me to all at Wolverhampton Motorrad

Pissed off BM owner...
I've been looking to trade in my BMW r1200gs rallye te 2018 for the last few weeks and contacted some bmw dealerships for a p/ ex and what a massive disappointment it's turning into,,my bike and been nursed and no expense spared, but they want it for peanuts but still expect me to pay top dollar for what there offering (s1000xr, 21 plate onwards)
They simply don't deserve the loyalty or the business that customers give them
Williams Motorad Manchester sold me a lemon
Williams originally sold the bike that i paid £500 deposit on and offered me another one with carbon that i thought was a bargain but turned out to be a lemon. Bought a new used with low miles S1000rrM sport. found the riding modes for sport dynamic road not right because the bike does a wobbly and is very unstable n difficult to ride on open rds ie A roads n motorways with the bike moving to the left of the carriageway. The issue is with the suspension front and back including rebound including traction control. Charles Hurst BMW service department told me they cant change the riding settings and Williams BMW expect me to use it in pro race modes that i done myself. I'm not satisfied with this because I can't change on the fly and I have been told by Williams Manager Craig to get a suspension specialist, that will void my warranty or go down the route of taking the bike back and they give me trade price for it and look after me with another bike. I don't call this being looked after. I wouldn't trust them because it could happen again with any bike with electronic riding modes setup including suspension, traction control. I have spoke to head office BMW and will take it further with BMW and legal advice. My bike is not fit for purpose, bmw are obliged to repair or replace item under warranty within 6 months from purchase by consumer rights act 2015. N/B I should of taken bike back within 30 days and got my money back!
M1000XR Purchase
I purchased a new in stock M1000XR, from Balmer Lawn (Brockenhurst) Motorrad early in September.
I got a great deal was was treated brilliant by them.
I've also used them for my K1600GT servicing and they were excellent at that also.
They've not been a Motorrad dealer for that long and I believe they had a shaky start but I definately would recommend them and will use again.
I was let down and insulted today by…
I was let down and insulted today by the service department so I have left and won't be back, (after having a great experience with the sales department in the past and several of my friends have bought expensive bikes here).
My bike, which has a full BMW service history, has a fault code which relates to the exhaust valve which is a known issue with the bike. I called and booked it in for this and agreed to just have it serviced whilst it was in. The service advisor was very helpful and agreed this issue is known and the exhaust system would be replaced.
Today when I arrived she confirmed it was in for a diagnostic, I said it was already diagnosed and it's in for the repair. There was some hesitation then the manager approached and said that he hadn't ever seen me before and knew that I had bought the bike elsewhere. I said that wasn't relevant, the bike has a known recall. He argued that this fault is known but is not a recall and my bike was now out of warranty.
When I explained that when the bike had been booked in I was told it would be sorted, and he said that this was just a figure of speech!
I was made to feel that I am clearly unwelcome as I bought this bike elsewhere. I can't believe he said he hadn't seen me before! I actually drove to this branch to buy a bike but they didn't have what I was looking for which is why I had to go elsewhere, but the sales person was understanding and we said we would come back for our servicing etc. I have more than 1 top of the range bike and am part of a group who all ride BMWs bought from this branch but there's now at least 1 less customer.
I have now booked the bike in elsewhere to get the service and recall carried out.
Approved S1000R from Dick Lovett Bristol
I bought an Approved S1000R from Dick Lovett in Bristol. The bike had it's 18k service prior to delivery. When I collected the bike I complained that the new chain was too long (as there was no room to adjust) and the rear suspension wasn't functioning correctly.
The chain was found to be fitted incorrectly but the rear suspension took 3 visits over 5 weeks, and an independent report, to be replaced.
On the next rideout after collecting the bike a fork seal developed a leak. I supplied photos and after several visits BMW still have failed to accept it's an issue - I was told it's acceptable for this to happen. As a Manx GP competitor I was mortified.
At great expense to myself I have returned the bike to BMW rather than refinancing another bike. To add insult to injury no one dealing with my complaint was available to receive my paperwork; despite knowing when I would be arriving.

Bought a new S1000XR from Dick Lovett…
I bought a new S1000XR from Dick Lovett Motorad, following some negotiation on price, the salesman tried to palm me off with a different spec'd bike than we discussed. This was rectified however. i was then told the luggage i had ordered with the bike was on back order and would not be delivered with the bike. In a subsequent conversation with the salesperson he tole me it had arrived but the could coded decals were on back order and the locks required coding. When i collected the bike i asked to take the language & i would sort out the lock keying myself and call back in for the decals when available. He then told me the luggage was on back order and contradicted what he had told me on the phone. I was messed about when collecting and was waiting hours before the bike was ready. When i arrived home i discovered the AntTheft alarm was not responding to the key fob. I reported this immediately and no one has contacted me about the alarm issue or when the luggage will be available. Not a good experience so far buyer be ware!!
Since writing this review the manager made contact and has assured me that the issues I had experience would be resolved. My bike is booked in Aug 27, fingers crossed will update following my next visit.
Hidden customs charge
I ordered a low seat for the BMW F700GS 2012 edition. I looked up reviews of motorad and all the reviews are negative and particularly mention delivery being so poor and to avoid. I thought I would give them a chance.
I paid a fair amount for delivery which was to my address. It litterally stated to my address. I was charged for this delivery.
A few weeks later I find out that my item has arrived in the UK and is in customs. I have to pay annother delivery fee of £72.00
I messaged motorad and got the response of it states this on the site, in my innitial email I explained it doesn't say that their will be a customs service charge. Lastly motorad blamed Brexit which has given myself and my friends a laugh. The person who emailed me clearly isn't professional so here's my unprofessional response from the former second highest contributor to the EU ...These Europeans are so bitter about brexit... get a grip, suck it up and do your job... you know... like we do you sausage and snail lovers jeez while I munch on my fish and chips. The site should either state it or add an additional charge. It stated clearly I was paying delivery to my address. This was not fulfilled and I dipped into my pocket at quite a shocking fee. If you sell and state the delivery address and take money to achieve this you have no right to lul a person into an additional hidden fee... lazy
I will never buy from motorad again. Disgusting company and I'll make a point of going out of my way to create public awareness
Vote with your feet people and walk away from motorad
PARK LANE LONDON
PARK-LANE LONDON
The worse customer service I have ever experienced in my life! BMW has a great reputation for good aftercare, but this was terrible care from the start! I called Park Lane for a simple quote on a new TFT screen, front and back tires, and to finalise the quote stirring lock, also booking the annual service as last year was done by them, MOT as is due soon. I was promised that the quote would be emailed next day. Nobody from BMW Park Lane has phoned or emailed to update me and I was completely in the unknown. I tried calling at least 8 times without success , bottom line I am still waiting..
I urge everyone just to avoid Park Lane.
You are better off driving 2 hours out of London but getting a proper service.
My experience with BMW Motorrad Canada…
My experience with BMW Motorrad Canada has been an absolute disaster. From day one, I was unable to log in to the connected service, and the situation has only gone downhill from there.
The customer service is beyond atrocious. Each time I sought assistance, I was deflected to different departments, each one more useless than the last. It's clear they have no interest in actually resolving issues, only in passing the problem around until the customer gives up in frustration. This level of incompetence and lack of accountability is infuriating and a total betrayal of the premium brand image BMW tries to project.
The product and service I received were the complete opposite of what was advertised. The seamless connectivity and top-tier support they boast about are nothing but blatant lies. Over the past two years, I've wasted countless hours on the phone and sent dozens of emails, all to no avail. The unresponsiveness and sheer indifference from BMW Motorrad Canada are beyond belief.
The biggest slap in the face is how grossly misleading their marketing is compared to the abysmal reality. They promise a high-end, hassle-free experience, but what you get is a nightmare of frustration and unmet expectations. It’s an absolute scam.
Investing in a BMW product has been one of the worst decisions I've ever made. The stark contrast between their polished advertisements and the shocking reality is appalling. BMW Motorrad Canada needs a complete overhaul of their customer service and product reliability. Until they address these serious issues, I strongly urge everyone to avoid their products at all costs.
I bought an R1250GS Adventure back in…
I bought an R1250GS Adventure back in fall of 2019. It has been a great bike to ride (one of the top bikes I have owned). But quality control has been awful and Bmw Motorrads handling of the quality control issues has been horrible. Within the warranty time they dealt with the problems acceptably. But just out of warranty they left me in the cold. The throttle handle and the wiring harness gave up 1 month out of warranty. That’s a part that should last fir the lifetime of the bike, as is the wiring harness. They left me out in the cold. At 19000 km the workshop told me that the cam gears were worn. Again, that’s something that should last the lifetime of the bike, not only 19000 km. Again they left me completely in the cold to cover everything on my own. In the 4.5 years that I have owned this bike, it left me standing roadside 6 times for different QC related issues.
Be aware - you don’t get the quality the price tag implies you should have. No more Bmw’s for me. A pity because it’s a real driving machine.
Be very wary of this dealership
Be very wary of this dealership. I purchased a used/approved BMW motorcycle with a warranty from Balmer’s Brockenhurst BMW motorcycle dealership in May 2023. A couple of weeks later it was in for a minor recall at my local service centre in London, when a number of ‘critical’ brake-related issues were identified. This immediately indicated to me that there had been a very poor attempt at servicing and MOT-ing the motorcycle prior to its sale. Balmer refused my request to reimburse me if I had the repairs carried out at my local BMW service centre, citing likely excessive costs as the reason. Instead they collected the bike and attempted to repair it themselves. As soon as the bike was returned the front brake immediately failed. Yet again they refused to let me have the repairs carried out by my local dealership and insisted they attempt the repair again. At this point I had already lost any confidence in their ability to carry out satisfactory work, and we agreed on a compromise; I’d get the repair done at Motorrad Servicing and Repair (now Bavarian Motorcycles) in Surrey and reimbursed by Balmer. Several months later the front brake has failed again, and the manager at Brockenhurst BMW has curtly informed me that as I’d had the last repair carried out by another dealer it had nullified my warranty and they will take no further responsibility for addressing the problem.
BMW Balmer Lawn- New Milton Paid £100+ Faulty Diagnostic
Paid £100+ for fault diagnosis on my BMW S1000r, was told it was ECU needed replacement at a cost of £1000, have since put in another repair centre and fault diagnosis as wiring issue, Bike is now fully repaired at a cost of £200, I was warned about Balmer Lawn but felt I had no option, I’m sure they will read this review but will not offer me a refund on their FALSE diagnosis, Very disappointing service from BALMER LAWN
Preston MOTORRAD BMW bike service - never again .
I refer to my experience at the Preston branch .
Poor customer service . Poor mechanical service . Poor attitude .
I took my BMW R Nine T Urban GS for a full service .
The bike was 6 year old and had only done 4800 miles .
I rode my bike in for service and I was given a 300cc machine( scooter like thing ) with a an empty tank , next to it there were many better bikes to ride but they were not offered to me .
The service was done , the service sheet and what was written in the log book didn’t match . For example the alternator belt change was not noted .
Shortly after the full serivive , literally straight after driving the bike the service icon appeared on the clock.
I could not believe what I was seeing - serivce icon after a service . It was after 5 pm so I rode home in the winter cold , muck and horrible .
Went home which in my case was 40 miles away , and called them the following day .
They tried to fob the issue off, sayingit it was not major thing , and even suggested that I continued to ride ?!?
Had to call repeatedly to re-arrange bike pick up and eventually when that was done , after a week , it appeared that this was ‘ a new software ‘ fault , which had nothing to do with the service .
Unbelievable .
I was then made to feel like now they were doing me a favour by repairing this software issue ‘ with the possibly of the bike needing a new ECU’ for free .
In summary , the bike was delivered after another week ‘ repaired ‘. Amazing …
In summary:
1.Full serivce , you bike may be returned ‘serviced’ but with a new fault .
2.This may well be ‘ something new ‘ - a coincidence for example. That’s an official BMW dealer in the UK .
3.You will be waiting for pick up and delivery of your bike 2-3 weeks from the time you’ve made an appointment
4.You will be told that your bike is ‘ old ‘ when it is actually a mint 4800mile machine . That’s very important to be put in your head so you can go and buy a new bike from this dealership . Why not .
Simply - Never again ..
Thank you BMW Motorrad for providing me…
Thank you BMW Motorrad for providing me with a spanking new K1600B at over £20K that lasted a whole 233 miles/ 63 days before requiring a complete engine change due to a mechanical defect at manufacture.
I would also like to thank you for your appalling customer service and complete lack of empathy purely because the bike had been owned by me for more than 30 days. You have only offered a refund of the loan amount outstanding leaving me out of pocket by 3 huge monthly payments. Furthermore your. Complaints team were not interested, you’ve refused to replace the bike (asked for the same K1600, but different model) and have offered no compensation. You are just not interested in your Customers. In fact the complaints person even told me there was nothing she could do. I didn’t even get an acknowledgement when writing to the head of Customer Service UK!
Maybe you could learn something from your dealers who have bent over backwards to try and help! Well done Vines of Guildford and Sycamore of Peterborough. Shame on BMW Motorrad for making them deal at the point end with an unhappy Customer.
What comes around goes around, your reputation will continue to decline and I plan to ensure I do my bit to help it along the way! As an organisation you lack integrity, empathy and do not care what is most important to any business - The Customer!
