⭐ 1 Star

⭐ 1 Star – Extremely disappointing experience with Boots Hearingcare
Thank you for your response. I appreciate the invitation to discuss this further, but after approximately a month of correspondence with Boots Hearingcare, I feel that I have already explained my concerns clearly.

My disappointment is not simply about a cancelled appointment. I ordered and paid for my hearing aids on 25 July and made it clear that I was leaving the UK on 9 August. Boots arranged my fitting for 8 August, only for it to be cancelled on the very day of the appointment, despite knowing I was travelling the following day and needed the hearing aids for my forthcoming travels.

My entire order was then cancelled without informing me first. I subsequently had numerous exchanges with Boots about reinstating the 15% promotional offer and about a possible goodwill gesture for the considerable inconvenience caused. The 15% offer was eventually reinstated, but that was the offer I had originally been entitled to.

There was also the matter of the letter Boots sent asking me to bring someone close to me to assist with my assessment. This was subsequently denied, and I had to provide Boots with a copy of their own letter to demonstrate that the request had in fact been made.

What I find most disappointing is that, despite all these exchanges, I have seen little acknowledgement of the inconvenience caused or any meaningful gesture of goodwill.

I therefore feel I have said all that I need to say. My review reflects my genuine experience as a customer, and I am leaving it for others to make their own informed decision.
I am extremely disappointed and upset with the way Boots Hearingcare has handled my hearing aid order.

I had placed an order for hearing aids and paid a deposit. My fitting appointment was arranged, and Boots knew that I was travelling abroad the following day.

Just hours before my scheduled fitting appointment, Boots cancelled the appointment. This was incredibly inconvenient, particularly as I had already made arrangements around the appointment and was due to travel the next day.

I subsequently discovered that Boots had also cancelled my entire hearing aid order and refunded my deposit without informing me beforehand. I had not asked for the order to be cancelled.

I was then effectively expected to start the whole process again when I returned, despite the fact that I had already gone through the consultation, chosen the hearing aids, placed the order and paid the deposit.

My daughter had also taken time off to help me, so this was not simply a minor inconvenience.

What has made the situation even more disappointing is the response I received afterwards. I was told that Boots hoped that “by retaining the 15% discount” they could make it straightforward for me to continue with my hearing aids when I return.

I do not consider this to be a solution to the problem. The 15% discount was already a promotion available to me. It does not compensate for cancelling my fitting at the last minute, cancelling my entire order without informing me, and then expecting me to start the process all over again.

I expected much better customer service and communication from a company such as Boots.

The way this has been handled has left me feeling extremely let down. I have decided that I no longer wish to pursue the matter with Boots, but I feel other customers should know about my experience before choosing Boots Hearingcare.

The annual visit was OK

The annual visit was OK. Relatively brief, and now my hearing aids are a little all over the place. BUT my big gripe is that I have emailed Boots Hearing twice to ask about having moulds fitted to my existing hearing aids, and there hasn't been a response. What do I have to do to get them to contact me, apart from going in to make an appointment at the boots in town and then coming back and waiting for an appointment? Come on, boots. Respond to emails ! ! ! ! ! !

Hearing aids

I had a recent appointment to look into getting hearing aids. The audiologist was friendly and informative. She talked me through my options. In all a good experience. I would recommend them.
