Farseena was great. She explained the tests, the results, the hearing aid options and what happens to the brain when we develop hearing loss. Fascinating. Highly recommend her.

Update revue

They only had one hearing aid to try and none in the shop to buy. But the worst experience came when I had tried my new hearing aids and was ready to buy. I saw in the pamphlet that I could pay by direct debit, and assumed that was what I wanted to do, but the fiance company Boots uses denied my request and said they would need more information. I walked out of the shop without my aids and have been protesting this all week with customer service and the finance company. So don't assume you can pay by direct debit - they might demand an excruciating lot of ID information - or you pay it all up front.

I cannot fault the actual examination. Everything was explained very clearly.

My only very minor compliant is there was a little hiccup on admin in that my arrival was not logged so examiner was not aware I had arrive which meant we started 15 minutes after my appointment.

I strongly recommend Boots

I strongly recommend Boots over the well-known chain I have used previously. The guidance and advice was clear and useful. The audiologist understood what matters to those of us with poor hearing. Most importantly the aftercare seems to be much better. My previous experience with another company was their after care was very poor once they had sold me the aids. This makes a big difference.
Boots have a series of follow up appointments, the first being just a few weeks after giving me the aids so I can check any problems or if i am not using them effectively.
The audiologist has given me his email address so I can specify any problems if they occur - if the previous company had done that it would have saved me so much hassle trying to fix faults.
The new aids are brilliant. When they said they will be much better than my old ones I wasn't sure, but they really are. I can now hear so much better in many different situations, especially on the phone and online
