Terrible and still £220 down

You have treated me appallingly. You took my money on 30th Nov ypu the  proceeded to tell me 12 days later tha  the item was out of stock and sent an alternative. They were faulty and undesirable.ypu then made me wait indoors all day 9-5.30 on Friday to no avail and again no communication. You now want me to wait in again all day on Monday....still no collection still no communication still no chairs still £200+ down.....I shall repost this to all media channels along with the 26 emails it has taken me to get sorted!!!

I shall now post this to twitter and every social media channel to allow your customers to be very hesitant when ordering from you. You are RUBBISH and I'm done. How long will you take to refund me £200+. I am also contacting the ombudsman and your CEO.

AVOID

Oh dear, they obviously dont believe in customer service. Similar problem to others, bought some star burst stake lights at £25 each and they dont work, started complaining back In September (bought them in July) and have been fobbed of ever since. Plainly they know they are poor quality but have no intention of replacing or refunding.

Lovely and unique with great service

Ordered 3 items and all of them lovely especially the silver lampshade which looks amazing in my lounge. I have searched for the perfect one for months. Had to return some string lights which was my fault as I didn’t read they were battery operated not mains. I received the refund within 7 days. Would definitely order again.

Avoid!

Thankfully I only bought a £25 set of lights, but when they arrived it was clear they were cheap and nasty tat and way over priced, so I decided to return. This was at my own expense. Sent them back two weeks ago and still haven’t heard from Bothy Blue about my refund. Also just noticed their refund policy says they’ll deduct £3 from any refunds, so it’s all just an absolute con that leaves the customer out of pocket even when the item is rubbish.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

I wish I had read the reviews before I bought from Bothy Blue - I've had the same experience as the previous poster, almost to the letter - but I was inside the returns window. I did return the items. They refunded me £93 after a total value of £270 from the footstool and the ottoman was sent to them. I am at a loss as to what to do, I've emailed and complained and they are completely ignoring me. There must be a way to get my money back. They've stolen my money. It's absolutely criminal.

Terrible experience and refund policy

Terrible experience. Ordered two bulky items - a chair and a poufee, both in 'blush'. Chair colour as expected. Poufee completely different colour. Emailed Bothy Blue to say I would like to return the footstool as colour not matching chair. Automated email pointing me to refund policy. With this company you have to pay your own postage/courrier and return item within 14 days of purchase to get a refund. This is impossible because i cannot find a courier for less than £57 and the item only arrived 9 days after purchase. Thus giving me 4- 5 days to organise the return and make sure it gets there in less time than they managed to deliver it to me in the first place - also at my own additional expense! Not what you expect for a £139 footstool.

Emailed them to say this is impossible (don't want to fork out £57 and send it off, only to find they refuse to refund, as then i can't even sell it myself!). No reply as they take up to 72 hours to respond to emails. This will certainly take me over the 14 day refund policy. So they have you whichever way you turn!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!

Absolutely awful customer service

Absolutely awful customer service. Ordered pair of chairs arrived over 2 weeks late. We’re different shade of blue than in image. They arrived on Friday and went on holiday on Monday so did not get a chance to send back. Whilst in holiday I emailed to say they were a different colour I did not like them and wanted to pay to return them as soon as I returned and they said they could not help as by time back from holiday it would be over their 14 day return policy. There was no flexibility what so ever! They are now not returning my emails. Extremely unhelpful would not recommend and would not use again.

TERRIBLE SERVICE

No updates on dispatch, no telephone number to call... Should have looked on here before I purchased. Thankful for PayPal who I will raise the dispute with. It's strange how they take payment immediately, don't deliver or update you but then expect you to wait for 3 days for a response to an email

One of the worst experiences I have ever had

One of the worst experiences I have had. A couple of things I have found out during the rigmarole of dealing with them. These are based on my own experiences and conversations I have had with LPD - the company whose products I actually bought and whose delivery team did all the work. Bothy Blue are just an unnecssary middle man.

- The business model of Bothy Blue is that they are just a website and an office. It doesn't have a warehouse or its own stock, or at least not for all the products it sells. The product they sold me was actually through another company (LPD), whose products Bothy Blue purchased once I had made my order. In my experience, the original company (LPD) were the ones delivering the items so I had to liaise with two companies to get my products. As I said, this means Bothy Blue are an unnecesary middle man that just add stress and time delays on your order.

- This means the items you buy can likely be bought elsewhere from the original company that Bothy Blue will buy it from, so do yourself a favour and get it cheaper and with better customer service from the original company.

- There is no phone number for Bothy Blue made available to the consumer or the company they buy from and who deliver. A red flag in itself with hindsight. All comms is via an email address with an approx 24 / 48 hour delay so don't expect any timely responses or to speak to anyone directly.

My personal experience was that I never received all my items so after three failed deliveries, I asked for a refund and the collection of the items I did have. This proved just as difficult as trying to get the items delivered in the first place. There is no communciation between the courier who collects (who works for the original company) and Bothy Blue, so paper work goes missing and things are logged, which meant I couldn't get a refund until they had undergone a lenghty process and got the money back from the original company before then refunding me. Despite that being in breach of my contract of sale with them as the retailer.

Everything about this company and the entire experience has been disfunctional.

There is an incredible lack of customer service - everything is on their terms and nothing is solution orientated. Do yourself a favour and just buy the items you want from the original retailer. Save yourself a lot of hassle and time.

Dreadful experience

Dreadful experience. I tried to cancel an order and was later told that it was too late to do so and therefore I had to cover the £30 shipping fee to return the items. When the chairs were received the boxes were falling apart so I had to reinforce them with some of my own tape before dispatching them. Having dispatched them I've been going back and forth since the 19th March trying to get these guys to simply answer one question: "Have you received the parcel?"

Apparently my name and address being on the box isn't useful to identify who sent it and this question is impossible to answer without a tracking number so I'm now stuck in a loop between the courier and seller.

I ordered bar stools which arrived…

I ordered bar stools which arrived without the screws. I've been trying to return them for weeks and Bothy Blue are not getting back to me. So frustrating! Not only have they kept the money but I now have pointless bar stools which I cant use and are taking up space!

The customer service is terrible and the items are poorly made

The customer service is terrible, I can only get an email response even asking numerous times for a phone call!!

I ordered a chair and a lamp, was notified that my delivery had gone to the post office. I receive my parcel and the chair was missing. Which I thought was strange anyway as the Royal Mail don’t usually deliver items like that. I then try and chase my order, this has taken over 3 weeks with no tracking number or anything.
Finally get a response from an email saying DPD have let us down on this one and it’ll be delivered. Still no tracking number given so was a guessing game of when it’d be delivered.
Finally have my chair but it is damaged completely and has all black markings over the material.
Do you think I can get an answer from the company.....no!!
I can’t wait to get rid of it and my money back but I am sure this will be a lengthy process again because you can’t speak to anyway other than an email!

I would NOT use this company and the products are so poor.

If i could give zero starts I would! This is the worst company I have dealt with when it comes to customer service! I’ve only
Managed to deal with one person who seems to refuse to escalate my complaint and I am totally dissatisfied with their ridiculous returns policy. All in all avoid!!! Items are poor quality and customer service is worse!

Avoid this company at all costs

Avoid this company at all costs. Terrible customer service. Ordered my item over 6 weeks ago and still no sign of it. I have emailed them 4 times and get a useless automated response. No other contact details provided on their website to get a refund either.

I have bought 3 products from Bothy…

Extremely poor customer service experience.
I have bought 3 products from Bothy Blue and would not recommend them to anyone. Both my garden lights (stake lights and string lights) stopped working after a year. They were both mean to be waterproof but weren't. I recently purchased a brass standing mirror and it has been over 5 weeks now since I bought my item and have still not received it. No communication from Bothy Blue about the delivery of my item. I had to write to them 3 times (receiving an automated response each time) before I received a reply from a lady named Freya. She advised that they had some problems with the packaging of the items and therefore there would be a delay but couldn't tell me for how long!! Subsequent emails have resulted in the same (unhelpful) automated response. I appreciate that things can go wrong with orders but the least you can do for your customers is to communicate with them when things go wrong - not ignore their emails and keep them waiting when they have paid you money in good faith for a product that they haven't recieved. This is not something you should take lightly. I would appreciate a response to my complaint as soon as possible.
