Web service is rubbish
I selected a specialist paint from the website and arranged to collect it at a local store. When I went to the store to pick it up, an inferior grade of paint had been sent. I pointed this out to the store manager. The store manager recalled seeing an email regarding this an pulled it up on his screen. The email had not been sent to me. The colour that I wanted was apparently not available in the grade that I wanted despite the website allowing the order to proceed. The web team did not send an email to me asking if I wanted the same grade at a different colour and simply downgraded me without my consent. I needed the paint in a hurry so I took the paint. The store manager handled a poor situation very well and contacted the web team to send a refund for the difference in value. The refund arrived but again without any communication to me from the web team or any detail of how it was calculated.

Delivery service was excellent
Delivery service was excellent - arrived next day as promised. Click & Collect from Abingdon was good and helpful; would have given 5* if paint had been mixed in advance of arrival to collect.

What's not to like?
I ordered a 2.5l tin of Osmo 420 wood protection oil for delivery. It was competitively priced and was delivered on schedule the next day. It was very well packed in a strong box with a moulded liner so it arrived with no damage.

Quality products, expert advice, not just for tradespeople
Firstly, whilst a lot of tradespeople use Brewers it's not just for them - it's open to the wider public too. The staff provide a level of expertise and advice that you're unlikely to find in a general DIY store, and a lot of Brewer's products are built to a specification rather than a price. After one bad experience with cheap DIY paint many years ago, Brewers is now the only place I buy my paint.
