Rude and arrogant staff. They hurried my inquiry and acted as if I was interrupting their day. I would avoid if you don't want to be humiliated by a starving flight instructor. I will take my £10,000.... See more

Flight Simulator Experience
The simulator does not have any realistic motion, but for the price it is still a fun simulator. You can take off from virtually any airport in the world and ‘fly’ around. I even managed to fly under the Severn bridge. The instructor was very good.
The café nearby does basic but good value food and drink.

Flying Lesson for a Birthday
I purchased a trial flight for my wife's birthday and accompanied her during her flight.
The Aeroplane Club set up was very good. The instructor was first class answering all of my wife and myselfs questions.
The flight was amazing and something my wife will cherish forever.
We would recommend the Bristol and Wessex Aeroplane Club to anyone who may be thinking of a trial flying lesson with them. Great experience and value for money.

Land away flight lesson/experience
My son (aged 13) has said he would like to be a pilot for a few years, and had a 1 hour Land Away Experience with Bristol and Wessex Aeroplane Club. This is normally an experience for 2 people, but in this case we asked if he could do all the flying. His instructor, Jonathan Cormack, was fantastic. He was very calm and explained clearly to my son how to control the plane, and gave him plenty of opportunities to test his new-found skills, with controlling it in the air, as well as those all important take offs and landings. The experience involves two take offs and landings - it can be at Bristol Airport and another (hence the name "Land Away"), but in our case, all was on the main runway of Bristol Airport, which in itself is pretty exhilarating. As it was a 4 seater plane, I sat in the rear, along with my older son, which was also an amazing experience, even for someone who flies on passenger planes most weeks! I can't fault the experience, we are all still buzzing about it even over 2 weeks later, and though it seems like a "once in a lifetime" experience, it was so good that we'll be saving up for another go!!

Great Experience you won't forget.
What can I say. It was an experience I won't forget in a long time. From the moment I phoned to find out how to book my flight experience to landing. The staff were all very helpful and the instructor was very great telling me all about what I will be doing on my flight. We took off from Cardiff Airport and we'll flew over the 2 Severn Bridges before making a landing at Bristol Airport. It was so real and it as feels just so realistic. The whole experience is well worth the visit including looking around the flying school. With all the history and picture's around the room will keep you there while enjoying your coffee or tea.
I must try and go back for a real flight one day.

Recent flying experience day
My boyfriend had a flying lesson as a 30th gift. I went along to watch and was actually allowed to sit in the back of the plane, which was amazing! The instructor was really encouraging and it was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. Even if I wasn't lucky enough to fly along too, the outdoor seating and great location means there would have been plenty of daydreaming and private jets to keep me entertained!

Had the Flight experience as a gift…
Had the Flight experience as a gift from a friend. booked a day for it and arrived on site to a warm welcome and a briefing. the instructor was superb, very calming and encouraging. it was awesome to take off at a busy airport amongst the likes of easyjet. and having never seen that forward view in an aircraft it blew me away. took control of the aircraft for a good portion. would highly recommend.!!

First taster session
I had my first taster session on the weekend. The staff were really friendly and welcoming right from calling in the morning to confirm if the weather was suitable all the way through to the landing.
It was an amazing experience that I definitely want to repeat.
The centre is a warm and comfortable place with a coffee shop with reasonable prices.
Anyone wishing to learn to fly then this is the place to go!!!!

Full Private Pilots License
Trained for my private pilot's license at Bristol and Wessex, based at Bristol Airport. Passed all exams and skills test first time as a result of the excellent quality of training and support from everyone at the club.
Flying in and around the airport and in particular its restricted airspace, was invaluable in becoming a more confident and competent pilot - something that you won't that much practice at doing, at other places.

11 months later and still no flight.
Bought a voucher for my son as a Christmas present for a hours flight. It’s now November and we still haven’t been able to get in the air. We’ve had a mixture of sick pilots, weather or broken plane. My son would book a date, take a days holiday from work, and then find the flight cancelled at ththe last minute.
My son was considering flying lessons but this has put him off.
We’ve now given up on trying to get any more bookings and when I contacted them to extend th voucher period they weren’t very helpful or understanding.
