Absolutely disgusting and vile company. All about scamming and robbing their customers. Lived in a digs property as a year for a student: they constantly ignored our pleas for anything to be fixed eve... See more

Hi, I got locked out and Luke kindly came to assist me, I really appreciate it and don’t know what I would’ve done without him.

Avoid Digs where possible
Avoid Digs where possible! They have been unreliable all year long. They respond incredibly late and use sly moves to get out of every possible issue and task needed to be done in a property. The latest rip off is taking £714 from the group deposit, due to cleaning costs. Being aware of the nasty nature of digs we made sure we left the flat as spotless as we found it. So, how does an oven clean and a quick hoover cost that much in a clean and tidy 6 bedroom flat?
Just another rip off students
Just another rip off students. Will make you pay deposit just to then cancel you and keep the deposit for them.
Absolutely awful.
DO NOT USE THIS AGENT UNDER ANY…
DO NOT USE THIS AGENT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!
My student daughter rented through them in Bristol over the last year (20-21) and was a guarantor for the rent. The property was appalling with slug infestation, evidence of rats, dangerous water leaks onto electric wiring, all of which were ignored by the agent. Eventually, the council inspected and found the property did not meet Fire Standards, had excess cold hazards and risk of falling between floor hazards, few of which were rectified during the tenancy.
Digs are totally unprofessional, unhelpful and have no interest in the welfare of the students in their properties.
DIGS SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS!! AVOID
Honestly, Digs should not be in business!!! I wish I could give 0 stars
Similarly to others' experiences that have written below, I wish I never had to deal with them! Mould in the living room and the bathroom, broken water pipe (coming from upstairs shower, streaming down into our back area), old skirt boards that are falling apart, broken beds, no double glazing, broken and old heaters, smelly sofas, broken tables, property manager with a snarky attitude and condescending approach, you name it all!
Don't EVER, no matter how desperate you are to find a place, NEVER EVER RENT WITH DIGS!
Digs are not acknowledging some…
Digs are not acknowledging some possibly all hand posted labelled key returns . Please video yourself returning posted keys as they are saying they have not received them and are looking at charging you for new keys out of your deposit, even though they have the keys in their office.
Extremely unprofessional and…
Extremely unprofessional and unreliable. The place I rented was filthy and we even found dirty underwear under one of the beds. Their manager shouted at me for laying down a carpet (without adhesive) over the lifted tiles in my apartment even though that was completely legal under the contract. They still took a lot from our deposits even though we left the place spotless at the end with no damage. Check the google reviews for more if you want to convince yourself that you SHOULD NOT deal with them.
Mould
They refused to address the mould issues that was on the walls and turned our possessions green. We were advised to "move all our belongings to the center of the room". When we told them a previous Tennant had been advised by a doctor to move out due to asthma, we were told "well a doctor would say that". When asked if they would paint the flat they said "no, it was painted last year, you wouldn't paint your own home every year" even though the previous year's Tennants had left a penis scrawled over an entire wall.
I'd rather be homeless
As an international student, it was hard to find accommodation in Bristol. I signed a 1-year tenancy agreement. When I moved in in September, the flat was filthy. I made them aware of the situation by sending them all the pictures and they told me not to do anything and that they were going to take care of that. The company called somebody to clean and fix some of the broken stuff in the flat and told me not to worry about it. Everything was cleaned and fixed during the year, and I got back to my country following lockdown. However, to get my deposit back, the agency told me that they couldn’t do a British bank transfer, which is quite odd. They told me to get the cheque at the agency, but obviously, it was dangerous to go to the office because of COVID. So, they deducted £25 from my deposit to do an international bank transfer whereas I had a British account. To top it all, they deducted £50 from my deposit for the cleaning that has been done when I moved in, and £7,50 for the absence of the mattress cover that I never got, in addition to the rents that I had to pay during a lockdown. These deductions were sent to me by email, showing me 3 pictures of 1 g of dust that I forgot to clean. The email indicated I hadn't cleaned, but I left the apartment spotless, whereas they gave me a pigsty when I moved in (what a shame I cannot attach pictures).
The most elaborated scam I have ever seen. Please don’t ever deal with them in any circumstances.
Shameless - i dont know how they live with themselves
When we moved into property last year, the house was filthy as if no cleaning had been done for years. We had to spend a week cleaning when we moved in. A musty smell permeated throughout the year which meant you could not breathe without windows open. They ripped out our grass and left us with a mud pit for the year despite promising a paved garden. No hoover, microwave, kettle, toaster or bin for a FURNISHED property. No notice given for maintenance men to let themselves in.
Overall, the company treated us with no decency as a tenants and I do not know how they sleep at night.
