Facilities pretty rough
Easy entry - odd siting of main stage, tv screen partially obscured by tree. Too much of area seemed to be given over to corporate stands at the expense of stage siting. Signage poor and siting of rubbish bins well away from bars seemed to guarantee loads of rubbish dumped all over the place. Rubbish pickers did appear but didn’t make much difference.
No mobile drink sellers so huge queues at bars.
Toilet facilities were very poor - haven’t seen communal sinks (no hand wash) any where for years. As you walked to the cubicles a long line of men were urinating into the trees at the side of the urinal queue. No management of the cubicle queue which could been improved quite easily. Clearly bargain basement toilet hire.
Overall we had a good time - didn’t feel too crowded but then we didn’t try to push to the front for a stage view.
Easy exit but no idea what the chap on the megaphone was saying - completely inaudible!
Doesn’t go home when you have looked at…
Doesn’t go home when you have looked at your tickets, need to exit and go back in, no support for two e mails (tickets transferred in linked to two purchase routes). No info on running order , support artists etc . Quite shocking really unless you were using in 2003 not 2023!
Extremely Unfortunate Experience at BST Hyde Park
I recently attended an event at BST Hyde Park and was profoundly disturbed by the poor organisation and aggressive behaviour exhibited by the security staff. The entire experience was marred by the lack of clear communication, hostile environment, and the unprofessional conduct of the security personnel.
Firstly, the bag policy was not adequately communicated prior to the event, leading to confusion and frustration at the entrance. Instead of handling the situation in a calm and professional manner, the security staff behaved aggressively towards attendees, creating an unwelcome atmosphere from the outset. This lack of professionalism and customer care was disappointing and set a negative tone for the event.
We paid for our tickets with the expectation of a secure and enjoyable environment. Instead, we were confronted with an unnecessary level of hostility from those whose job it is to ensure our safety.
The experience took a turn for the worse when, after the event exit 19-20, a security officer, identified as the manager by his t-shirt, physically assaulted a man in full view of everyone.
This aggressive behaviour by someone in a position of authority was shocking and distressing. It raises serious concerns about the safety protocols and professionalism of the security team at BST Hyde Park for the guests. The dismissal and rudeness from the security staff suggest a systemic issue with the way security personnel are trained and managed at the venue.
I believe all attendees deserve a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience, which was certainly not delivered in this instance.
I cannot in good conscience recommend BST Hyde Park to anyone after this deeply regrettable experience. They seriously need to reconsider their customer service approach and how they train their security staff. I hope they rectify these issues so future attendees don't have to experience the same distress and discomfort.
rules about bag sizes followed inconsistently
The security at the entrance inconsistently applied the rules regarding size of bags allowed. I was made to dispose of my empty backpack only to find in the venue people with much bigger backpacks allowed. It left a very bitter taste in my mouth and spoiled a day I was looking forward to. The rules were included in the app but despite numerous emails, none mentioned these rules.
Just got back from seeing guns and…
Just got back from seeing guns and roses who were absolutely brilliant but the venue was let down by the screens having a time delay on the sound so it looks as though the bands were miming and the food prices are an absolute rip off £20 for an uncooked burger and chips and a can of coke and the queues for the toilets were just to long to the stage that blokes were peeing on the railings
BST Hyde Park Gold Circle and Hydeaway GnR
Tickets: Bought them online and loaded them into the BST app download from app store. Followed instructions and had no issues. We had Gold Circle and Hydeaway access.
App: Got plenty of messages in leadup to gig telling me to load the tickets and refresh them. Tickets have a QR code that changes every 60 seconds to prevent screen sharing. There are options to transfer tickets to your friends (in case you bought a number but have friends arriving at different times) and to sell tickets, but I did not use these functions.
Getting There: Arrived by tube and walked to Hyde Park. Well sign-posted to entrance. Arrived about 3pm and there was no queue for the VIP entrance. Tickes scanned and wristband on. Was waved through security in less than 30s.
Hydeaway: Used this area twice, once on arrival for a drink/loo/sitdown and once before main support for food/sitdown/loo. Zero queues for toilets and bar. Plenty of seating.
Food: Paid a very reasonable £10 for a nice Katsu chicken sushi burrito. Was not drinking much, cant remember drink prices but not too bad.
VIP Toilets: Clean (cleaner was literally mopping them) and no queue.
Gold circle: wristbands were being carefully checked twice on entrance. Uncrowded when we went in halfway through main support where we stayed until end of show. We ended up about 10-15 people back, with an excellent view. However, we are tall (6ft3) which really helps, when lowering (crouching) down to average crowed height view was not so good, but a not the fault of BST! Apologies to those behind me.
Staging: Great massive wrap around screen with graphics and the live acts, as you would expect. Giant oak tree did not get in way of view for me, but seems unnecessary.
Sound: Great, crystal clear
Leaving: show finished at 10:20pm and the exit was crowded but well managed we walked to paddington and got on a very busy train at about 11:20 (would give the railway 1* for the way they had cancelled trains and poor announcements )
Merch: good selection, £40 t-shirts. Picked up a bonus £10 knock-off for cash outside after show. Queue for merch was long at some stands. Do not wait until after the show!
Final comment: Guns and Roses were great, with a 3 hour show. The atmosphere in the gold circle was very tame, few people dancing and rocking out, lots of NPCs, I guess I expected more bouncing. The gold circle is, however definitely worth the price as it was huge. The front of General admission was way back from the stage. I know it is expensive, but gold circle tickets are essential if you want to actually see the act rather than the screens.
Bought tickets for GunsNRoses
Bought tickets for GunsNRoses. My credit card was charged but the tickets were never sent. Customer service is non-existent, no number to call and have spent 2 hours today in a queue for live chat never goes down. Appalling.
I paid for gold circle I am disabled awful it…
I paid for gold circle I am disabled it was a patch of uneven grass with no view of the stage. Could not get any drinks or food my friend had to push me miles in wheelchair as there was no designated drop off point or pick up no places in the blue badge car park as sold out months before we bought our tickets. Couldn’t see the stage at all. Had to try and make our way out through the rubbish and detritus.
Have to agree with many of these…
Have to agree with many of these comments. Pink was stunning - however the venue overcrowded and poor provision for the number of tix sold. Loos substandard (no loo roll on either occasion) and urinals that made me feel like an animal (I walked straight through). Queues for greasy fairground food were depressing and same goes for the drinks queues. Focus was on profit over customer experience. Greedy
Water unavailable, 'tree' built in front of main screen
Paid for Gold circle, but entrance area was so wide and wristband checking minimal, so area was rammed full.
2 water points vs 7 last year? plus 4 'water bars' whatever they are - queues for all were well over 30 mins so never got to find out. Hottest days of the year this is unacceptable. App/map was useless on the day as wouldn't load. Not letting people in with water is ridiculous and unsafe.
Why build a fake tree obscuring half of one of the two large screens beside the stage? There weren't enough screens as it was.
Not a comfortable or enjoyable experience, althogh P!nk and Gwen were great. See them in a different venue though.
BST Diamond Circle tickets to watch a Screen - Over priced Experience
We paid for Diamond Circle Ultimate bar tickets based on the viewing area that we saw at last years event, where we had Gold Circle Ultimate.
This year the Diamond Circle was less prestigious, over crowded with poor stage views unless you were down the front. Not what you would expect for a top package with a prime position.
We were disappointed with how the Diamond circle was half the size and provided restricted views of the stage, we couldn’t see the performers unless we watched the big screen....front row tickets to watch a screen!!!
We feel short changed and we will not be returning again after the money we spent on this overpriced experience.
R U B B I S H
most toilets closed.
Golden circle completely oversold and security abysmal.
massive queues for everything and some comedy prices.
Much worse that last eyars events
Went to see Pink on Sunday 25th June
Went to see Pink on Sunday 25th June. She was brilliant as usual but the VIP tickets were an absolute waste of money. The VIP terrace was an absolute joke,so overcrowd. I think greed has ruined a great venue. The VIP area was so overcrowded, to a point of being dangerous on the terrace.
More water!!!!
This was my 3rd event to attend and definitely most crowded one. Hard to see anything.
Also the queue for water was unacceptable. Need more water stations instead of silly “top up” stations!!!! Or if your going to let people dye of thirst at least allow people in with more water.
Poor organization by BST
I just attended Pink and while the concert was excellent, the logistics at the park were bad. I have seen festivals done well (Coachella), but not at BST. The restrooms were at opposite sides of the venue and the lines were horrific. As a Gold ticket holder, I had to leave the area to use the toilet and the line was easily 200 people long. My husband said women were squatting over the men‘s urinals and I saw 3 people peeing by a tree. There should be more toilets spread out across the park and inside the Gold circle area. The food stand lines also commingled with the toilet line making the whole experience an absolute zoo.
P!nk & Gwen amazing, BST poor premium experience
Paid £379 a ticket for a 'premium' experience. The stage was so far away and it was literally every man for himself on the balcony, we were five people back so watched it all on the big screen, too packed for what you think you are paying for. In the garden area it was so packed there was nowhere to sit, probably about enough seating for half the people in that area. Food queues were so long we didn't even eat there, the bar and toilet queues weren't much better either. Nothing other than a wristband to show for the premium experience, the staff weren't even checking the bands either. I feel it was quantity over quality and definitely wouldn't choose that experience again. Sadly, already booked for Take That next weekend! Have had far better experiences at other venues.
P!nk and Gwen Stefani were incredible…
P!nk and Gwen Stefani were incredible from what I could hear. I saw nothing 😞 The large screens had massive speakers in front of them obscuring the view too. I spent most of the concert watching Gwen Stefani enjoying the concert (she was loving it) .
The stage was to low, no hope at all of seeing anything.
It cost a fortune and was a horrible experience.
Thankyou P!nk for your aerial display it was the only time I saw you.
OVERSOLD AND OVER PRICED
Pink was amazing, great voice and show. I bought the wife garden view tickets as a present for xmas as a special treat. I was thinking that they were quite exclusive and we were going to be rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous! How wrong was I? Lets get it straight it wasn't as busy as the main arena where people were packed in, you did have a little bit of space. For the £ 350 quid each you'd expect it and more. It was easy enough to get a drink, a 5 min wait and food was about a 20 minute wait. Yes, all overpriced as you'd expect. I certainly will not be going to another BST event, poor organisation and delivery from all concerned. Its such a shame they always leave you with a bad taste in your mouth when you've been and seen some really good acts. Shame on you BST.
PINK - Staging is terrible...Hope doesn't have this awful stage throughout the tour!
Paid £130 to see PINK yesterday. Undoubtedly she was fabulous, just you couldn't see her. The stage was stupidly small and too low so with everyone standing there is no eyeline to the stage. 75% of stage is made up of screens but they have huge speakers in front of them so you can't even properly see the artists on the screen. All the off stage action was directed at VIP side of the concert, like the other odd thousands were just there for padding. Pinks performance was flawless but the stage design and nanagement was utterly C**p. Also need to sort out the bars.....I could have brewed my own in time it took to get served.
Pink amazing , BST experience appalling
Pink and Gwen Sefani were amazing, organisation of BST disgraceful! After a dire experience at Adele last year having paid £100 to watch a screen, we bought gold circle to see Pink. Checking of wristbands was a token gesture so area was rammed. It felt so dangerous and goodness knows what would happen in an emergency. I’ve never been to a concert with so many rude, self entitled people who just turned up just before the concert and barged their way through to as close to the front as possible. Being over 30 degrees didn’t help. The huge price for the tickets was nothing short of a a rip off, way too many people in the area and facilities which are atrocious. Queues for water and loos so long, just not sufficient for the numbers attending. Prices are a complete rip off especially as you are a captive audience not being allowed to bring anything in. However, searches upon arrival esp in bags was a token gesture. I will not be returning to Hyde Park as a venue for concerts perhaps American Express should relook at their sponsorship of these events which surely don’t align with their brand values and ethos!
