don't do it!
BullionVault was a leap into Gold and Silver trading which I hadnt done before. Advice from a friend suggested this was a way to improve my financial returns over the immediate future. This, because of Donald Tump and Co. failed miserably, losing a substantial amount in 6 months. Never again.

Nothing but praise for the service from BullionVault over the years, for multiple family members. Everything works online. Getting into metals was so easy, reliable audits and monthly statements, great website and on the one occasion, great customer service. Forget banks, just store your wealth in hard money via a rock solid company.
Ease of use of Bullion Vault site
Their website is very easy to navigate and the selling/buying wizard is excellent for someone who is not that knowledgeable in buying and selling.
Changing a Linked Bank Account at BullionVault Is a Needless Obstacle Course
Title: Changing a Linked Bank Account at BullionVault Is a Needless Obstacle Course
I understand the need for strong security when changing a linked bank account. I actually agree with many of BullionVault's verification requirements. But there comes a point where security crosses over into unnecessary bureaucracy, and that's exactly what this experience felt like.
Here's what I had to do:
Obtain multiple notarized documents, including a utility bill, passport or driver's license, and a notarized bank letter containing very specific wording—plus the bank manager's business card.
Make a small "test" transfer (about $1.48) and provide BullionVault with the bank's confirmation showing the exact transaction details.
I can accept those steps. They're inconvenient, but I understand the rationale.
What I cannot understand is the final verification process.
BullionVault insists on calling only the branch's generic public telephone number listed on the bank's website. They refuse to schedule a call with the bank manager who personally signed the notarized letter, and they refuse to use the manager's direct number—even though it's printed on her business card and was provided as part of the verification package.
Instead, you're expected to wait and hope that, whenever BullionVault decides to call, the automated system knows where to transfer the call to. Good luck on that one!
When they fail to reach that person, they simply send an email saying they attempted contact several times, as though the problem now belongs to the customer.
In my case, I went back to my bank and arranged a specific appointment with the branch manager three days in advance for 9:00 a.m. I emailed BullionVault with the appointment details and copied the manager so everyone was informed. The day before, I even sent a polite reminder.
At 9:00 a.m.—the agreed time—BullionVault did not call.
They called 11 minutes later, using the branch's general number instead of the manager's direct line.
This perfectly illustrates the problem. They ask customers to jump through extraordinary hoops, yet show little flexibility or consideration for the time of either the customer or the bank staff trying to help.
Customer support wasn't much better. While they can communicate in several languages, what seems to be missing is genuine customer service: ownership of issues, product knowledge, and the flexibility to resolve straightforward requests efficiently instead of rigidly following procedures that create unnecessary delays.
Security is essential, especially when protecting financial assets. But there is a significant difference between robust security controls and needless friction.
BullionVault's current process for changing a linked bank account falls squarely into the latter category. It creates unnecessary work for customers, bank employees, and BullionVault itself, without providing any obvious additional security benefit.
Strong security should inspire confidence—not frustration.

Good technology and a good user experience. I've only used to buy but I trust that selling will be just as smooth.
Unexpected transaction…
It would appear that this transaction was concluded by BullionVault is excess of the normal bids which was very much in my favour, for which I am most grateful. I don't understand the process but this is most recommendable.

Bullion Vault enables anyone to buy and sell gold 24/7
Bullion Vault is a reliable and absolutely genuine company, which uses financial technology (since about 2012) to enable Joe Public to buy and sell Gold and Silver, which is held in professional vaults. There is no VAT payable. Prices are near to the wholesale prices that big institutions buy Gold at. The IT is very reliable; so are the very secure banking arrangements. I have been using Bullion Vault since 2017 and completely recommend this company.
