Very good customer service and had my bike ready earlier than expected.

Initial interaction with the shop all seemed great, until collection where they refused to release the bike to my wife citing legal requirements (who, incidentally, had both her own and my driving licence, proof of address and the order email as stated on their collection page, plus was with me and recognised when the order was placed a few days prior). As we live 40 mins away, a refund was issued however the utterly bonkers part of that is they were happy to refund the deposit I paid to my wife's card?! Complete contradiction. Arrogant and unhelpful, we certainly won't be going back nor recommending to others. It's a shame as being the first bike for my son, that's decades of potential business lost, although doubt they care. Look elsewhere would be my advice. Thankfully, I've managed to order the exact same bike, more local for same day collection.

EDIT: following a reply from the shop below, I thought it would be remiss of me not to point out that the whole response is contradictory. If they recognised my wife enough to refund the deposit to a different card, surely any application of FCA rules would fall under "common sense" and applied to the handover (considering two forms of ID, proof of address and the order email). Or why not just simply give me a call from the details held on the finance agreement, as this seemed to be fine 3rd hand for the deposit. Real class shown in suggesting my wife was "agitated" too, true colours. All in all, a shambles.

From telephone enquiry to viewing and then purchase they have been excellent. The guys at Buyabike have been great to deal with and really know their stuff.
This is a huge bike store to visit with a massive range to try. It was quite a drive away from me but was worth every mile.

So yesterday we’d promised our daughter that we’d put the bikes in the van (hadn’t tried it with all 3 bikes) & go for a bike ride somewhere. After trying to get the bikes in in numerous ways with the wheels attached, we decided to take the front wheels off. 2 of the bikes, no problem at all, came to remove the front wheel off mine which had quite a different quick release mechanism on than the other 2 & ended up unscrewing it too far resulting in parts pinging off! Operator error! Wasn’t looking good for our bike ride & we had one upset child. So chucked the bike in the van & 10mins later landed at Buy a bike. Lewis came out, quickly identified the issue & wheeled the bike straight in. Couldn’t have been more than 10mins later & the bike was sorted. A bit of training was given by Lewis on how to remove the front wheel & we were off ready for our bike ride with one very happy little girl.

Thanks to Lewis & the team, not just for the help we got when purchasing our bikes but the after care service we have received has been exceptional. We wouldn’t look at going anywhere else for bikes.

We went there expecting to pay a hefty fee to get my son's bike repaired but what we got instead was a helpful service and a low cost solution.
Without judgment they diagnosed the problem with my son's bike very quickly (a missing part costing £14), noticed another problem with the bike, pointed out the cause and gave us the solution for free. It actually cost them one rubber band and a demo of what to do with it. Problem fixed and new knowledge obtained. Win. Thanks BaB.

We went to Buy a Bike after purchasing a child’s bike seat from Halfords and then had to go back as it was wrong and we were left stood waiting for 15 minutes and no one came to help…

However, at buy a bike it was a different story…quick to greet us and see how they could help… the guys were brilliant and showed me their Hammax system that they had in stock and what parts I would need and basically a quick run down of how to install it! They did offer to fit the part but my little girl couldn’t wait to get out on the bike so we took it home…

Thanks so much. You guys made a little girl very happy that she could go on a bike ride at weekend in the sun after being promised for a whole week!!

Just collected our sons new bike, the service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble, and we receive a free safety check in 6 weeks!
