Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 56 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers encountered issues with products, including receiving used or damaged items sold as new, and experiencing product failures shortly after purchase. Reviewers frequently reported problems with their orders, such as cancellations, items being back-ordered after payment, and significant delays in shipping or pickup. The customer service was widely criticized for being unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to reach, with many feeling that their concerns were not addressed. Staff members were often described as pushy, unknowledgeable, and exhibiting poor attitudes. However, some customers were satisfied with their purchases, noting that their items arrived in mint condition and sometimes even earlier than expected. A few reviewers also highlighted positive interactions with specific staff members who were helpful and knowledgeable, making their in-store experience pleasant.

Very very bad customers service

Very very bad customers service.
Juste after paying for my order for comupter parts the website crashed and I never received a confirmation emails from them. I wanted to be sure that my order passed so I tried to communicate with them by emails, telephone and opened a ticket online... without never been able to get an answer from them! After four days i canceled my order.

horrible customer service

Just horrible online customer support/help, emailed/opened a "support ticket" on Dec 17 2024, did not hear back until dec 25 2024.

Zero help, in the reply email from customer support, they tried to deny any type of return for defective product, ignoring their own stated return policy as well as deny the extra support that i paid for.

Mention issues i am having with product, and the only answers i am able to get are, no refund and take it back to the store for the issues im having.

Do not even try to answer the questions/issues i ask about.

Should have read the reviews (zero stars)

Bought an Acer Laptop for my son for college back in early Sept from the Whitby store. Was a middle-tier laptop as I wasn't willing to spend more than $1000. First mistake, it was an "Open-Box". Fast forward to Nov 27 (a mere 4 days before the In-Store warranty was to expire) the PC screen wouldn't turn on. PC would not appear to boot up and even tried connecting an HDMI to an external screen and also didn't work. Brought the laptop to CC to get a replacement. Both my son and I had looked the PC over and no dents or scratches on it at all. Only thing missing was a screw at the bottom (which I was then asked if I opened it up) and told him I hadn't and maybe it was missed as it was an open box. Tech tried a few things, and said he has to look more into it over the next week or so. Before he took it, I signed paperwork that said, "No physical damage" and "missing screw from the bottom". I signed it, accepting these conditions. I didn't hear from anyone for 2 weeks. Finally fed up, I called and they apologized and said they were waiting for a response from head office as to whether or not they will warranty/replace the laptop due to the fact it's damaged. I said,"WHAT"? "What damage"? He said, all 4 corners of the laptop are damaged as it someone dropped it. I said, "Nope, that's a lie". He also said there were a few scratches on it to which I replied, "Also a lie". Told him the laptop was in mint condition and I even signed off on the "No physical damage", to which he replied, "Sometimes they missing writing these things down on paper and find them after the fact". I was livid by this point. I hung up, grabbed my keys and went to the store and demanded they show me the laptop and that I need to speak to the manager. As soon as he showed me the laptop, there were indeed marks on all 4 corners and 2 scratches, none of which were there when I dropped it off. Someone there, sabotaged the laptop so head-office would deny the warranty request. In fact, I would doubt they even raised anything to "head-office" at all as they wouldn't share the emails with me when requested. The guy said, the best he can do is look at the camera footage when I dropped it off to see if it's damaged and go from there. So....I already know. He will come back and, either say, nothing was found on the video's or it was damaged when I dropped it off. Just brutal. I wish I had read all the reviews here before purchasing. In the past I have never had to deal with tech support and now that I have, I will never purchase another laptop/computer from them ever again. They don't care about customers, and if there even is a head-office, they don't care even more. Ironically as I scrolled through all the comments, many had similar experiences. I thought mine was a unique situation, but it turns out, everyone gets the run-around when trying to get a replacement in the warranty period.

Buyer beware! Avoid CC's at all costs. It's not worth it. Seems like this may be "Pat Foran" worthy to make more people aware of the shady practices of this company.

Absolute garbage

Absolute garbage! I bought a new computer part just before the Canada Post strike. Canada Computers knew 72 hours prior to the strike that they’d be striking. CC sent the item through Canada Post anyways. After 3 weeks of waiting I requested a replacement part and for it to be sent via other means. They responded quickly with, yes, we are aware of the issue and will be forwarding a new part shortly via other means. That was almost 2 weeks ago now. They won’t even respond to my messages/e-mails at all.

I’ll never do business with them again!

Unwilling to help

It's been a while but when i installed upgrades on one of my friend's computer last night, i had a dream about the experience i had in April 2024 at Gatineau's Canada Computer store. It compelled me to share this experience. I purchased a 5900X CPU and it worked for less than 10 minutes after installing it. I brought it back at Can. Comp. to see if they could test it. One of the clerk was willing to help but his supervisor intervened and refused. Upon inspecting it, he noticed i placed the CPU the wrong way in the packaging, causing the 4 corner pins to be slightly bend. Ok, my bad and i understood if they did not want to replace it or give a refund. But their complete unwillingness to help however left a very bad taste about that store. Fortunately when i tried installing the CPU the next day, it worked and worked ever since. The CPU pins were so very slightly bent that i did not even need to realign the pins when i reinstalled the CPU. I never set foot in a Can. Comp. store ever since.

Clueless Idiots and Bellends: Canada Computers' Customer Service Disaster…

Their customer support and online experience are an absolute joke. Clearly run by idiots who don’t care about their customers.

I tried to buy a laptop for Black Friday. Went online, found the one I wanted—no shipping option, only in-store pickup. Fine, except I’m out of the country for five days. Tried to pay online, but of course, their system wouldn’t accept my card. Finally got past that hurdle, only to find out they only let you pay 15% as a deposit online. What kind of nonsense is that? I just wanted to pay in full, but no, the rest has to be paid in person, which obviously isn’t an option for me.

Called the Barrie store, sat on hold for 45 minutes, and finally gave up. Tried Newmarket, and the idiot I spoke to was a complete bellend. Told him I’d be back in a few days and asked if they could hold the laptop. Nope—3 days max. Asked if I could pay in full over the phone. Another no.

Alright, f*** it then. They say ‘shop local,’ but with customer service like this, they’re just pushing people to big-box stores. Best Buy will be getting my $4,500 instead.

Black Friday deals are a scam

Black Friday deals are a scam if only I could put a picture here to explain what I'm seeing right now. :: but ill explain you get this packages below for :

Limited Time Deal
$449.98
Save $6
Intel Core i7-12700KF CPU + GIGABYTE B760M GAMING PLUS WIFI DDR4 Motherboard + G.SKILL 32GB D4 3200MHz CL16 RAM

Now if I open each parts that come with the packages on their website the cpu,ram and motherboard they go by this price right now :

GIGABYTE B760M: 139.99$
Intel Core i7-12700KF: 239.00$
G.SKILL Ripjaws V 32GB: 64.99$
Total: 443.98$

So basically the package deal of "Limited Time Deal
$449.98 Save $6" its just a scam because if you buy all the article separately without taking the black Friday package you save 6$

Its false advertisement a big 0 i'll go buy somewhere else from now on

If could give zero stars, I would. While can't speak for their in-store shopping experience, their online shopping is the worst I've ever encountered. Waiting a week just to process a payment? That's unbelievable in 2024. Their website FAQ claims orders are processed within 1-3 days, yet it's been a week, and still haven't heard anything about my order.
contacted their Contact Center, but the response was unhelpful. They redirected me to the accounting team, essentially leaving me to beg them to accept my payment and ship my items. I've emailed the accounting team, but the wait time for a reply has been ridiculously long.
Having worked at a couple of retail computer stores myself, I'm amazed at how poorly this company handles online orders. If you value your time and money, I strongly recommend avoiding online shopping with them.

Ordered a monitor and a can of air

Ordered a monitor and a can of air. 2 weeks later I received the can of air by itself and a $38 shipping fee.

Online customer service wouldn't reply to emails. Their order confirmation ticket tracking link 404d.

I called after 3 weeks and they told me that the monitor was backordered and wouldn't be available for at least 2 more weeks. I had to call in to learn about that.

They wouldn't do anything to make the experience better. I cancelled the order and won't buy from Canada Computers again.

I tried to order online

I tried to order online, went to sign up as I had purchased there in the past but that failed. Went to guest checkout, they needed a verification code sent to my phone(weirdly) but then my shopping cart is empty and I can't purchase from them. I tried again, and then a third time... They don't want your business, they just want your email and phone number.

Very helpful and patient Canada computer staff at hwy7 & warden

I visited the Markham Canada Computer store today located in Warden & Hwy7, Jason the guy from service pointed out an important point - the device I bought is supposed to be used in a laptop and not a tablet, so he patiently helped me test the device on my tablet chromebook, he is very knowledgeable and patient. And he is honest, instead of always trying to get me to buy extra stuff, he told me that I dont need to buy an extra cable. I truly think that he is more helpful and more honest compared to some other guy at another famous electronics chain store!

If you value your money and time

If you value your money and time. Don't spend your money at this store. Horrible site navigation, and if you buy an equipment and didn't even open the box and wants to return, they won't accept back because "I bought the product "on sales".
Spent $1.900 CAD and this how they treat a customer.
Never will buy anything at this store.

I bought a Red Dragon sports chair

I bought a Red Dragon sports chair. Was told I couldn't return it!
Apparently the reason for no return was because it is a cheap chair!
To begin with, the width is so slight that it takes a good deal of time to accustom your backside to being comfortable in it, still not used to that.
To top it off, after a very short while my chairs cylinder collapsed. I sent several emails requesting help and was completely ignored.
I even asked the company if they could sell me parts to fix it myself, again ignored.
I eventually put a heavy duty rubber tube surrounded by 3 large hose clamps.
I used to buy all my stuff from these charletons, now I will only buy things like mousepads.
Too bad, I really wanted access to a good supplier of computers parts, and periferals . . .
