Helpful and sympathetic advice
I was struggling a bit to know where to start looking when we were wanting to find some respite care for my mother in law. The very sympathetic call handler was lovely and it felt like a relief to talk to someone about it all. The subsequent list of care homes was a good start and I've now visited many homes and have, hopefully, solutions to our problems.

I was desperate to find a suitable respite placement for my 81 yr old husband who, at that time, was very uncomfortable on the Acute Assessment Unit at our local hospital. I had to get him out of there but didn't feel I could cope with him back home. I made dozens of phone calls - it was so stressful and frustrating. My salvation was carehome.co.uk. Blocking negative review
I posted a negative review about St. Nicholas care home located in Bootle Liverpool based on my own personal experience.
This website is for all care homes and it is St. Nicholas care home website as well.
Carehome website is preventing my negative reviews to be published and keeps looking for excuses not to publish it.
I have received numerous telephone calls and emails from this website in regards to my review. My review from July 2026 has not been published so far.
i can only assume that carehome website is receiving incentive for not publishing and blocking negative reviews about various care home including St. Nicholas care home in Liverpool.
The service can only be described as poor.
I don’t recommend this website.
