Hi
Whilst painstakingly looking for a care home i were steered towards care homes.co and so glad i was it just takes off the pressure and frustration of looking when tried and tested homes are sent for you to look at and the follow up calls make things so easy
Certainly would recommend to others in my situation
Well done keep up the great work

Haddon house in clowne near chesterfield are absolutely brilliant/they only had my dad for a couple of months but his stay there was 100% more caring than any of the others he’s been in! Rachel did her absolute best to get him there. Was amazing can not thank her enough! The events team Dawn & Kat are bloody lovely and so caring to each resident individually! The staff there are brilliant so with it, so tactful, just nice and encouraging towards all the residents! I’m so so pleased my dad had that home as his last home. Defo recommend it for anyone of your loved ones suffering from dementia or home life! The events they have are brilliant and lovely to attend. They welcome everyone !

Quick and efficient response the help my husband Geoffrey needs to go into respite care while I recharge my batteries.
The team were empathetic to the needs not just for Geoffrey but how I am ready for a break and I was struggling at the time to get Geoffrey a place at Ladydale Residential Care Home, Leek where he usually goes every few months / 16 weeks now.
Happy that Tracy from the office at Ladydale phone me with availability for the dates ideally I wanted. Especially with Geoffrey having Chemotherapy earlier in the same month I was wanting Geoffrey to get over the ordeal of the treatment etc.
Now I can prepare Geoffrey's his things for his stay and look forward to wind down time for me.
Geoffrey is going into care, Monday the 27th July and coming home Monday 10th August after he has had his tea.

I was sent a list of care homes to choose from for my mum around this area. Went to look at some but either mum wasn’t keen or there was a waiting list. Went have now found one she likes although further away.

The lady I spoke to was very informed and friendly and emails came through quite quickly afterwards.
I didn't realise what a complex and time bound process it was and with the monies for at least the first year needing to be liquidised that is another hurdle.

Not to be trusted and I would take any ratings you see on their site with a pinch of salt. They actively prevented a positive review about a care home being placed on their site by introducing unnecessary and unkind barriers to a severely ill, end-of-life stage elderly person being able to have their say on their home quoting "policy". Can only assume there is some ulterior motive in that to stop hardworking carehome groups achieve higher stats than affiliated ones. Their T&C on their website which I was very careful to read & comply with very clearly say that a legal rep such as LPA (me) can submit for the service user, which I did. Nope, apparently not. Mum upset that CH.co.uk have prevented her letting people know how good her home is. Potentially a breach of the Equality Act too. Frankly bizarre that it would have accepted without question a handwritten short summary by me, but wouldn't allow me to enter same or more detailed online. Check/believe other review sites rather than this one. A platform such as this that filters out the voices of those who need care the most, are the best and most appropriate to comment, but whom are unable to write a card themselves and are from a digitally excluded demographic has forgotten it's purpose entirely. A joke really - a carehome website that cares so much, it wont let its most valid users say a word. Do better.
