I and my sister had an excellent experience with Celtic Legend Car Rental from start to finish.

The booking process was straightforward and the team was extremely responsive, accommodating our requests and providing clear communication throughout. We booked a Group 4 automatic vehicle and were pleasantly surprised to receive a fully equipped Volvo XC40, which was perfect for our road trip around Scotland.

The car was in immaculate condition, comfortable, reliable, and packed with useful features that made driving long distances effortless. The sat nav provided was also very helpful and allowed us to explore the Highlands with complete peace of mind.

We had an excellent experience with Celtic Legend and I would definitely recommend them.

From the very first contact, their email support was prompt, clear and thorough. I really appreciated not only the speed of their replies, but also the quality of the advice they provided before the trip, which helped us prepare better and understand some of the specific aspects of driving in Scotland.

We picked up the car in Armadale through Arnold Clark, which is a very well-established rental company in Scotland. The whole process was smooth, straightforward and very similar to dealing with any major car rental company. The car was practically new and perfectly in line with what we had requested.

During the trip, we had a small incident while waiting for a ferry: the car parked next to ours opened its door and, because of the strong wind, it hit our car and caused a small chip. I immediately contacted Celtic Legend and they replied straight away, giving me support and clear guidance. In the end, when we returned the car, it turned out not to be a major issue, but I really appreciated how quickly and helpfully they responded when I needed assistance.

We travelled at the end of May and, probably also thanks to the period, we did not find many tourists. This made the whole trip even more enjoyable, especially on the roads and around the most scenic stops.

As for the driving, I eventually found the single track roads manageable. The key is not to rush, to keep left, and to use the passing places correctly, including pulling into the passing places on your left when needed to let oncoming traffic pass. Local drivers tend to be quite fast, but overall I found them fairly patient: as long as you move aside when possible and drive sensibly, it is all quite manageable.

I would also recommend Tripiamo. It is expensive, but in my case it was genuinely useful to become familiar with some of the specific features of driving in Scotland. I should mention that I had already driven on the left before, during two previous holidays in Ireland of about ten days each, so I was not a complete beginner. Even so, I found several of their practical tips genuinely helpful.

The icing on the cake: under comparable conditions, Celtic Legend was also the cheapest option I found for car rental during the whole trip.

In short: a serious, responsive, helpful, good-value and reliable service. Highly recommended.

We hired our car through Celtic Legends who's staff were helpful and professional during the whole process which helped to make our tour of Scotland perfect. They organised everything including a smooth pickup and drop off with Arnold Clark. We got the car we asked for which happened to be less then a year old and drove like a dream. The service received from both organisations was flawless. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Celtic Legend set us up with the right car, right rental coverage, right coverage and the best pickup and dropoff locations. The price was a lot cheaper than what we paid the prior year in Ireland for a longer rental period.

The process with Celtic Legend in Edinburgh was smooth and easy. Later in our trip we had to rent from a more well-known car agency (at least in the US) and it was chaos. The contrast was striking. The Celtic vehicle was nice and almost new and suited our needs perfectly. We modified the date and location of drop off at the last minute without any problems. I also like how Celtic includes all the fees and insurance options upfront so you know what you're going to pay when you arrive. I would rent from them again without a doubt.

My experience was outstanding from start to finish. From the very first contact and booking process to the return of the vehicle, everything was handled professionally, efficiently, and with genuine friendliness. When my flights were rerouted, your team quickly arranged the necessary changes, making what could have been a stressful situation completely effortless.
The city station shuttle for vehicle pickup from Buchanan Bus Station was arranged with a simple phone call and worked perfectly. Together with the airport shuttle for drop-off, it made both the start and end of the rental exceptionally convenient and hassle-free.
The car itself was excellent and contributed greatly to my unforgettable journey. By the way, a big thank you for the complimentary upgrade—it was a very welcome surprise and much appreciated. I would also like to express my sincere thanks not only to the Celtic Legend team but also to the vehicle provider, Arnold Clark, for delivering such a fantastic car and a first-class rental experience.

Celtic Legend made our trip to Scotland a hassle free car rental experience. They were great to work with. The only knock, if you can call it that, was the emails going back and forth over a few days. Outside of that, they were very helpful and top notch h service!

We had to make a change to our service a few days before the rental service started and they were able to accommodate with no issues.

Great company to deal with!

They did not charge for a second driver, upgraded us and also did not charge for the navigation system which came with the car. There was no requirement for a deposit and they also take debit cards. We’re more than happy with this. The staff of Arnold Clarke were really nice. They were very responsive in their emails as well. The car was pretty new and clean. We’d hire from them again.

I can’t rave about this company enough! Every single staff member was so friendly and helpful! From the initial inquiry email to them dropping us off at the hotel the entire process was smooth and as easy as can be. Every inquiry before and during our trip was answered quickly and efficiently. The car was clean and ready to go when we arrived for pickup and I greatly appreciate the shuttle back to our hotel instead of the airport- that was a nice touch. Highly recommend this company!!

Probably the best car rental service in Scotland. It was recommended by a Scottish friend, as I was looking to rent a car that would take four persons with all their luggage for a tour around Scotland. I started by emailing them for information. They were replying immediately even during weekends! They provided me with a brand new car (group 6 automatic estate, less than one year old with very little mileage, spotless inside out) and with useful information to make my trip safer and less tiring. They also had very decent pricing. Delivery and return of vehicle was fast and convenient. Best service I have ever had in renting a car. Highly recommended.

This was my second hire with Celtic Legend and it won't be the last. the service was seamless. The shuttle picked us up at Glasgow rail station and the driver provided a guided tour on the way to the rental office. Having rented a small car the consultant took one look at us and our luggage and upgraded to a mid size SUV . great move. The vehicle was in spotless condition with Apple car play that the consultant help us set up. Returning the car to Edinburgh was easy and the consultant arranged transport to our accommodation. All up, a pleasurable way to tour Scotland.

We picked up our large SUV at the Arnold Clark dealership in Edinburgh. The process was easy and quick. I highly recommend choosing the excess insurance coverage because if you are new to driving in Scotland you will be glad you did. On our first day, we came across a pothole and had a flat tire. We followed the easy instructions and within 2 hours we were on our way. A few days later a nasty curb jumped out at us on a narrow bridge. Again, Billy the mechanic was there quickly and we continued our trip. We have rented cars at multiple places and I have to say this was the best experience we have had. The return was simple and quick. You can’t go wrong with this wonderful company.

They suggested an out of the way location for car pick up to ease into left hand of the road driving The rental location staff were lovely and thorough in going through everything .
