Wasn't too bad back when it started but since Rogers took it over it is really problematic getting issues resolved. Oh well I still have a good basic plan for Canadian use.

Believe the 1 Star Rating!!!

Believe the 1 star rating! This is a sleazy subsidiary of Rogers - no surprise there. I was going to go with them and bought a SIM from their store. Found a better deal and went to return it - still new in package, never opened - and they refused to refund it. It's a shame I paid cash or I would have cancelled the CC charge for it.

So, I'll call customer service. Wait a sec, they don't have customer service for non-customers? No phone number, no email, and can't use the web submission form unless you're a paying customer. Called Rogers to complain and they didn't care. Emailed the cell phone "watchdog" which is a joke because it's paid for by Rogers, Bell, Telus, etc. There isn't even a legit government body to complain to. I tried the CRTC and they referred me back to this shill group.

So, stay away from these scumbags - Chatr/Rogers - in all things if possible.

Worst Network provider in Canada

Very poor customer service. Plan Cancellation is hard and no refund on the unused balance. They make it hard to cancel the service and when you have the auto payment options even though you requested the cancellation before the next renewal they delay until the next payment and finally they cancel the service where you end up paying for a month without any service as they don't refund on pro-rated basis. Worst Network provider in Canada.

worst experience with Chatr.

I made the biggest mistake of changing phone plans to Cahtr. The retailer tells all the good stories until they change the plans, and when any issues since after they will not help with anything but ask me to contact customer service.
There is no customer service number to contact, and they will reach you by email. And every time they reply to your email with a different person who repeats the same things over and over.

Useless, Non-Existent Customer Service

Bought an eSim for my son who is on a school exchange in Canada for five months. eSim wouldn't activate (might have been because we tried while still overseas), OK, no problem, can understand that (although not had a problem when done this for eSims for the US and UK). The original QR code then expired after a few hours. The only way to contact them is to raise a support ticket online (with no record sent to me either!). Did that immediately and followed up after two days. Now three days later with my son in Canada and needing to sort out a local cell I've heard nothing. Mistakenly enrolled in autopay for future months but to register an account and access payment details / make changes / cancel requires a verification code be sent to the phone # (which we can't activate).

This company is a joke. Avoid at all costs.

Should have read the reviews before I signed up. Will be contacting my credit card company directly and requesting a refund for services not provided.

I am writing to formally raise a…

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding a critical shortcoming on Chatr’s website: the inability to download or properly access call history records. As a customer, having access to detailed call logs is not only a basic expectation, but also a necessity for record-keeping, financial tracking, and in some cases, legal or business purposes.

Currently, Chatr’s platform does not provide customers with a simple way to download their call history in a usable format such as PDF or CSV. This forces users to rely on manual screenshots or tedious note-taking, which is both time-consuming and unreliable. In comparison, most other major telecom providers in Canada offer straightforward access to detailed, downloadable billing and call records as part of their standard customer service.

The absence of this feature places Chatr at a competitive disadvantage. It sends a message that customer convenience and transparency are not being prioritized, which can be frustrating and discouraging for clients like myself who need accurate records.

If this issue is not addressed, I will have no choice but to reflect my experience in online reviews across major platforms such as Google, Trustpilot, and social media. Negative reviews highlighting the lack of accessible call history could influence potential customers, especially those who rely on detailed records for professional or personal reasons. In today’s digital marketplace, reputation is everything, and repeated feedback on such a fundamental flaw can quickly diminish consumer trust and loyalty.

I strongly encourage Chatr to take this feedback seriously and implement a downloadable call history feature as soon as possible. Doing so will not only meet customer expectations, but also demonstrate that Chatr values transparency, accessibility, and customer satisfaction.

I look forward to your prompt response and to seeing meaningful action taken on this issue.

No support, no effort, no communication

Tried to switch providers from Koodo to Chatr, I've been trying to set up my esim for 9 days. I thought it might just be taking a bit longer for my number to be ported out as it can take minutes to several days (previous time I did it, it took less than 10 minutes). At day 3, I drove to my nearest store (1 hour drive there and 1 hour drive back), they did some things on my phone and said it will be up and running and everything is sorted out, I drove home and waited another few days and it is still not working, been on SOS since I transferred from the previous provider 9 days ago. Trying to contact them online is absolutely useless, I got a ticket number and they emailed me back, but the customer support has no idea what they are doing and so many different reps are replying so I've answered the same questionare about 10 times and I'm repeating myself about 20 times. No one can seem to fix it, so I said I would like to cancel and get a refund as the service has not been active at all and they refused. So now I have to drive 2 hours AGAIN for them to get my service online, this time I will be waiting at the store until it is working and then I'm gonna switch back to my previous provider. Worst experience ever, would never ever use them again.

Take with a grain of salt the information they give about network compatibility

All I needed for an old phone I have (a Samsung S7 edge) is to buy minutes allowing talk and messaging. Nothing else, and they're about the only company left still offering this kind of plan. Ordering a SIM card from them, setting things up on my phone, and then the account online was relatively hassle-free. What I didn't like is that they tried to tell me my phone would not work on their network when I ordered the SIM card, and then again when setting up the plan, so that I would order a new phone. Fortunately, I found on another website that there are several bands on their network that my phone can use. So, no need to buy a new phone. I may come back with more comments once I have had more use of their network.

Rude Chatr associate

On August 8, 2025, I went to this Chatr location at 563 Sherbourne Street to inquire about why the auto payment had not been stopped while also showing the credit card statement. Instead, the associate treated me rudely and unprofessionally, pointing out that I don't know how to read statements.
Garvit was dismissive impatient and in a hurry, despite the fact that I was the only person in the store. He also stated that Chatr will not repay the two-week payment.
I went home feeling like I had not been treated fairly. Hopefully, Chatr management will take a look at this situation and ensure that their employees receive adequate training, particularly in customer service.

Over 2 weeks of getting NOWHERE email & phone tags with Chatr President' s Office

As per my post at this site dated July 26, 2025, I FINALLY got to this so-called ''Chatr President' s Office'' after almost 2 months struggling with Chatr online support over a no more than $18 that Chatr refused to refund me since I switched my phone to Rogers on June 8/25.

When Chatr was all pure Chatr, people working at this ''preasident's office'' were much more approacheable & reachable back then.

Now, Chatr is part of the Rogers group, this president's office ''advisers'' are to me all robot like with totally no human touch or sense & seemingly they all quite ENJOY torturing & playing games with decent customers wanting to resolve their disputes /issues with them in a timely manner.

Since July 25, Bruno at ext 7023 & then Steve at ext 7027 have been sending me totally pretencious emails stating how much they wanted to resolve my issues, etc. Turned out to be all trash talks & fakes as these people at this so-called Chatr & also Rogers President's Office NEVER ANSWERED THEIR CALLS ALL DAY, EVERY BUSINESS DAYS. They NEVER called back at a time I left at their voicemails as per their email requests, SMSs, etc. This nonsense & ridiculous email & phone tags over a $18 no refund dispute has been going on since July 25/25 & still goes on with no hope that I can get to talk to ANY OF THESE PEOPLE AT ALL at this useless ''Chatr president's office''.

Such a bunch of NON-RESPONSIVE, CARE-LESS, ABSOLUTELY PRETENCIOUS CHATR & ROGERS ADVISERS WHO DO SUCH A SUPERFICIAL JOB THAT THEY CARE WHILE ACTUALLY THEY CARE ONLY KEEPING THEIR JOBS & THEY EXCEL BY NOT ANSWERING INCOMING BUSINESS RELATED CALLS & NOT RETURNING BUSINESS RELATED MESSAGES AT ALL !!!

website is never working

Chatr customers screwed over by Rogers again!!! The website is never working, most of the time i cannot log into my account. i used to have to call in to do anything and there is no way to talk to a person at customer service on the phone anymore, be prepared to go in to a store to do anything from changing a payment card to resetting a password.

Be it Fido, Chatr , or Mobilicity Rogers likes to buy up competitors and punish their customers with terrible customer service in hopes they will switch to rogers.

I have personally been with chatter…

I have personally been with chatter since 2022. I was unaware that my SIM card was registered as a 3G SIM card. Chatter let me know that I should upgrade my phone if I want to continue on with their service. There is no refund for the $79 or the $21 hook up fee for the SIM card and they continue to raise the price for more data while also restricting that data to four people on a group chat which makes my job as an electrician very difficult. When I brought it to their attention they said there's nothing that they did wrong. In concert with them demanding I change to a new phone and buy a new SIM card, I have instead chosen to change to a new carrier. They were kind enough not to allow me to bring my phone number with me so I had to get a new phone number as well, terrible company to deal with and worst pricing ever.

This company is a fraud

This company is a fraud. They have been bombarding me with text telling me that my phone is not going to work after July 31/25 as they are retiring the 3G network. I went to one of their kiosks and asked the person about my phone and told me that my Samsung A71 is not going to work. I trusted him and I went to best buy and bought a phone and now I am finding the truth that my old phone is capable of working after July 31. because of this people I lost 400 dollars unnecessarily. They don't have a customer service to complain and because of that people are at the mercy of these people at the kiosks. shame shame and shame. where is the government regulatory agency or where is justice? how are they allowed to operate without customer service. I have been with this company ever since they took over from Moblicity. I was a happy customer with Moblicity.

Zero service. Deceptive marketing. Received a text stating that I needed to upgrade my device as it wouldn't support LTE (It's a s25 Ultra). Try and find your account number, It's impossible by design. Dropped them like a fraud grifter. How they are still in business is quite the mystery.

A Successful Experience

Omar served me on July 18, 2025 transferring all my information from one phone to another with efficiency and great speed and spoke fluently in French and English. He was also very sociable and well-mannered while multi tasking for multiple clients. I was quite impressed with this positive experience. I would recommend him highly to others who are looking for a positive experience!
