Excellent customer service from Nina who arranged for priority delivery and even followed up to ensure that I received them. Could not recommend highly enough. Looking forward to sowing them now!

Thank you Chiltern Seeds
I have used Chiltern Seeds for years. Lovely seeds with seriously good germination, really good reliable company. Today they have totally surpassed themselves. Last weekend I sowed my courgettes cucumbers and squash, on Wednesday the mice had had a dinner party and not a seed remained. I ordered replacement seed there and then, not expecting it for at least 10 days - it arrived this lunchtime - Friday! Seeds all replanted and covered this time. What an amazing company.
Impressive customer care response
I bought 4 packs of seeds recently - all Ipomoea varieties including the expensive I. tuberosa at £3.65 for 5 seeds. They all germinated very well indeed apart from the tuberosa which needs experienced handling, which I have. None of them germinated so I contacted the company, got a response very quickly and an immediate replacement pack of seeds was sent. This is a fussy germinator and I will try several techniques. If it fails again, the seed may or may not be viable. This is a chance you take when buying seed, especially the more unusual and hard to source plants. However, I cannot fault the response from Chiltern which was immediate and appropriate.
Most exotic seeds fail to germinate
Most of the seeds I purchase from Chiltern fail to germinate. Tbf they are exotic species (no point ordering easy to find seeds). But despite being green fingered and following all advice they just fail to germinate. I shall give them the benefit of the doubt that their run of the mill seeds germinate but the more exotic ones? Steer clear.
Check seed content …
I ordered a fair few veg and flower seeds and they arrived after the 14 day period that they said would happen but on opening the onion seed packet saw there were no more than a dozen seeds in packet and same with Brocali about 20 seeds . Very disappointed and won’t be ordering again. Flower seeds not checked but it looks like same . Will be going back to Kings far better
Disappointed
This was my first time ordering seeds from Chiltern and regretably my last. A protracted delay in sending the seeds and despite what they say the number of seeds in one packet was not stated on the website. I was disappointed to find very few seeds in the packet. Poor communication. Over two weeks to dispatch 5 packets of seeds. I know this is stated in their terms but seriously. Good job I wasn't having a heart attack
Ignorant of GDPR and Privacy
Without asking me about marketing permissions Chiltern Seeds thought it wise to send me a printed brochure in the post. I didn't ask for it, I didn't want it, they didn't have my permission to send it, and it is nothing but a waste of paper, energy and resources.
GDPR and privacy obviously mean nothing to this company.
Great catalogue fabulous choice of unusual seeds
If ever a catalogue made you want to buy -it’s the latest Chiltern Seeds Catalogue. Stunning pictures showing a cross section of their extensive range. I try to buy some “unusual” seeds each year and Chiltern Seeds do not disappoint. Good sowing instructions a reliable germination can’t ask for more!
The first place I go to for seed!

Unresponsive
I have an open order with this company. It is overdue and I have now chased it twice by e-mail and they just won't respond. Shows how much (or little in this case) they appreciate their customers.
People who care
Prompt delivery, well-labelled and described. Particularly liked the 'Checked-by' bit. Obviously people who care.
The seeds...? That's down to me... Hit and miss, unfortunately

excellent
14 packs of seeds ordered, arrived very quickly, all clearly labeled cannot wait to start planting and enjoying them grow. thank you.
Excellent customer support
Excellent customer support, especially from Nina Marshall. Good quality seeds, I usually get germination rates > 60%, PROVIDED THAT I FOLLOW PLANT SPECIFIC SOWING INSTRUCTIONS. Their customer support is great at trying to uncover the causes for low germination, to help you do better the next time around.
Excellent customer service
My order unfortunately seems to have gotten lost in the post, but the customer service team (particularly Nina!) were so lovely and quick to respond to the issue and send out a replacement order. While I have yet to receive the seeds, I'm very impressed with how well and promptly issues have been dealt with.
Good choice of seeds
Good choice of seeds. Seem to have a grip on stock control.
Reasonably quick, considering COVID.
Are transparent about packet contents.
Will definately use again. Had issues with Thompson & Morgan previously (slow, fail to addreess billing / despatch errors).
Avoid this company at all costs
Avoid this company at all costs; they may have a huge range of seed but as other reviewers have already said, there are very few seeds in each packet and scant information about sowing and aftercare. In some instances the information is incorrect so novices beware. They don't ever acknowledge nor reply to emails with queries or when you try to tell them about problems getting seeds to germinate. The only reviews you see on their website are positive ones - what does that tell you ? Several of the packets of seed I bought from them this year have failed to germinate so in future I'll be sticking with trusted seed companies like DT Brown and Mr Fothergills.
A Great Disappointment
As an experiment I bought most of my seeds this year from Chiltern Seeds. What a disappointment. Very few seeds in each packet and a very poor germination rate. I've had to replace most seeds, with some difficulty from my normal suppliers (Suttons, Thompson and Morgan etc).
I can't recommend this company and will use my tried and trusted suppliers in future.
Very Pleased
Order a little delayed, but received now. Very well packaged, and protected. Many thanks to the company for their hard work!
Great seeds and no plastic packaging!
Used this company as they have a great selection of seeds and are far cheaper than buying them in the small packs you generally get in the shops.
Seeds came in jiffy bag made entirely out of paper which i was really pleased about as i could recycle it, and the seeds have all come up great.
Thankyou Chiltern Seeds!
I have bought seeds from Chiltern for…
I have bought seeds from Chiltern for the last 30 years and apart from some European vegetable varieties, they are my first and main seed supplier. A really helpful, efficient, friendly company,
