Clayton Hotel Glasgow

Stayed here for 2 nights on a girls trip to Glasgow. Wow the hotel was spotless, room was modern and the beds were lovely and comfortable. Had drinks in the reception which were not overly priced the staff were lovely professional but warming.

Clayton Hotel City of London -

Clayton Hotel City of London -
What an excellent experience for me and my family. The rooms were extremely comfortable and relaxing.
The hotel was clean and modern with friendly and helpful team looking after us just to mention few Mr Daniel, Mr Raj and Mr Hadi they made our stay from checking in to checking out nice & smooth.
The buffet breakfast was full of variety you can’t ask for more, with the rest of the facilities including the gym. Would rate them 10 / 10.
Would 100% visit again and recommend.

Bad Service, Poor quality food

I have been going to Clayton (Whites Hotel) Wexford restaurant for years. I am disappointed and dissatisfied at the service and the quality of food. The prices are ridiculously high for mediocre almost inedible food, the service was incredibly slow so you actually felt forgotten. You will not see me set foot in your restaurant again, that was appalling.

Such a bad experience

Such a bad experience. I asked to get my charges on one invoice at my checkout and they were not able to arrange this. Also asked for glutenfree pasta and that could not be served....I have travelled a lot during 30 years and the attitude of the manager in the reception,
Elena required a card read, which I had already provided earlier at my checkin, and smiled and said to me loudly in front of all other persons at check in that "your card is declined and not accepted" when she requested for me to put it to her reader. She did however not instruct me that this may be due to the reason that the card itself had not been inserted, but just scanned.... She smiled in a very arrogant way and I suggested myself it may because the card was never inserted into the reader.

And as soon as I tried that, on my own initiative whilst she was focussing on trying to make sure everyone around, staff and their clients, believe I was not credit worthy, I got the reader acceptance. She should have suggested this to begin win to solve the problem instead of insulting me heavily in front of others. Elena is very arrogant and not at all pleasant. She should have asked me to excuse her. She should be fired. She is not somving problems. She sees the client as a criminal and as a problem and makes sure everyone believes we as clients are criminals. I just wanted all my charges on ONE invoice to reduce my administration as an entrepreneur.....A horrific and very unpleasant experience! I actually still expect an excuse from management. This is not ok. I feel so insulted.

Sent into the street at 1030pm for food…

Was rudely told by the reception that, after more than one hour of waiting, room service was not going to come because of ‘staff issues’.

This forced me to go out on the street at 1030pm and try to get something to eat.

Fortunately the nearby Imperial Hotel stepped in and was glad to help.

I recommend staying there, don’t stay here.

Stayed in Clayton Hotel Galway.

Stayed in Clayton Hotel Galway.
Really clean rooms, easy check in, very helpful front desk staff and food was lovely.
However, service in the restaurant appalling. Told we could seat ourselves anywhere and would be looked after, waited 10/15 minutes and no menus brought down, had to go up and ask for them. Sat back down and then another 10/15 minutes passed before I had to to up to the bar and ask if we could order drinks.
Finally someone came and took our food order - then had to get the attention of another member of staff to ask for water for the table.
Rest of the time we sat there eating our dinner no one even approached to ask if we needed another drink or anything. There were 3 or 4 staff walking around on the floor for the duration and the restaurant was by no means busy. Really disappointing experience.

An allergen-friendly pre-set table!

I really enjoyed my stay - staff super friendly, and the location is great - so close to city centre.
What really made it special was the breakfast, where an allergen-friendly table was pre-set with milk alternatives, gluten-free options, etc. That fact alone makes me want to return with my whole family who have dietary requirements. Thank you, Clayton Hotel!

"Deluxe' room is a joke.

Very disappointing experience at this hotel. I booked a 'deluxe' king. What a joke, nothing deluxe about this room. Cheap bed linen, cheap pillows, old scratched brown side table and 2 dirty chairs. Drains smelled bad. Remote for TV did not work. One tiny window so no light.
For the extortionate price this is just awful, but I guess they have a captive audience of people going on holiday. It's a shame that they have such a poor start to their holiday. We were going home to Thailand thank goodness. Won't be returning.

Dinner Con

Hotel very good, good breakfast, staff good. Now the bad bit we booked through Groupon & opted for the 2 course evening meal, how disappointing starters soup chicken wings veg dish, mains beef or chicken burger, fish&chips veg dish, dessert ice cream cheesecake & chocolate fondue. Didn’t fancy a burger so we went for fish & chips, sorry run out of fish& chips, so we both had a chicken burger, not very good. The management should be ashamed for not putting on their website what you actually get, which was basically crap.

We stayed at the Clayton in Glasgow…

We stayed at the Clayton in Glasgow which recently opened. The staff were amongst the most helpful from the hotels we have stayed at. The customer service was above standard and any time we needed assistance, even late night, there was always a member of staff willing to help. The room was spotless and the facilities exactly what we required. Our stay was enjoyable due to its great location and ease to get to and from.

Disappointing experience - Just avoid

At £213 per night including breakfast this hotel (situated in Manchester by the Airport) was disappointing beyond belief. Very basic offering, not even as good as a Premier Inn, very disappointing. Not a good start to my holiday I felt shafted. Food basic, I have not had such a crispy fish and chips for years. Just avoid it is not worth the stress.

Looking forward to our next visit

Absolutely Brilliant!
We couldn't have been happier with our stay at the Clayton Hotel at Manchester Airport. Shuttle bus driver was lovely, checked in quickly and the room was lovely. Can't fault it at all. Comfy beds, tasty breakfast with a big selection... Exactly what we needed after a long day travelling. Rooms are soundproofed so it's a peaceful night too.

Dont stay here - staff is a complete joke with no customer service

Staff is a complete joke at Manchester Clayton airport hotel. Worst Customer experience ever. We wanted to book two rooms for a night because of cancelled flight, but Staff at reception told us there were no rooms available at the hotel eventhough there were plenty available on internet. We then asked two hotel shuttlebus drivers for a lift to terminal but they rejected and told us to walk to the airport because they had better things to do…..like doing nothing.

Clayton hotel Galway. Three nights B&B. Room 459 smelt off. Serviced once. Dirty toilet. Safe didn’t work. Breakfast cool. Curtain hanging off rail. Phone by the loo! Always need one of those just in case! A large hotel needing a shake-up!

Roberto Soldatich Manager, RE Room 129 18th September 2022

Hi Roberto,
THIS IS A TRUE STORY
Re Barbara Millington (BM) who has the big C aged 72 & Gill Lewis who has Fibromyalgia aged 62 Room 129 on Sunday 18th Septmber 2022.
Thank you for taking the time to listen to me on picking up these two ladies from the Clayton Hotel as I explained their return time was originally 01:50 but due to issues with Ryanair Airplane they had to provide an alternative airplane, an old one that had no drinks or food onboard to purchase, they had not eaten since Breakfast before leaving for departure but that’s not your issue & I am not able to drive at night with Glaucoma, Hense they stayed at the Clayton. Cost £176:00
I sat down with these ladies and let them explain in their own words if you can take the time to read through, on coming through customs BM rang the hotel to ask for the bus & were told you are at Terminal 3 flying Ryanair & should walk outside & go to bus stop “D” as they walked outside a sign indicated Terminal 1 & No bus stops.
BM rang the hotel again but he just kept saying we were at Terminal 3 & we should look, then the phone went dead, they went outside again but still could not see any bus stops but saw an arrow pointing to Terminal 3, so BM rang again & was told to follow it to terminal 3 which they did dragging their luggage at which time it was 5am & finally reached a car park completely lost & very scared so BM rang the hotel again, BM was told to look around & tell him what signs I saw, I told him & he said Oh you’re only across the road from us just walk around the roundabouts & you will be here & put the phone down on me. I was not sure how to get round the roundabouts but caught sight of a Policeman who was disgusted but showed us how to get to the Hotel, by the time we had lugged our cases 7 hand luggage we were exhausted 7 in great pain.
We were given keys & directions to our room no offer of help with luggage, it took a while to find the room as the numbering was all over the place.
We had a couple of Hrs sleep then went to have breakfast hungry as it had been 20hrs since last eaten but after paying £176 we assumed breakfast was included, how wrong we were we had to pay over £33 before we were allowed in, obviously we must have been the last as what was left was diabolical the bacon was overcooked & rubbery as was the tiny bit of scrambled egg which was not enough for two people, but it was all cold the only good thing was the coffee & toast which we made ourselves & after trying to eat it which we wouldn’t have but for being so hungry so we decided pastries we saw earlier but when we went back they’d all gone so we asked a member of staff who went & found 2pastries & said these had been taken to give the staff !!!, to be fair the pastries were very nice.
All in all we were disgusted with this prestigious hotel & the way we were treated by the staff.
This hotel was booked as a treat after flying back late as Mr Grove who spoke to you was not allowed to drive in the dark.
IT WAS A NIGHTMARE.

Never stay here

Well what can I say good about the Clayton hotel in Liffey valley Dublin….NOTHING. I’ve never stayed in a hotel that was so unclean, food terrible, pool not accessible over it being too full. Staff don’t look happy and the bar looks like it’s just thrown in a lobby with a few tables and VERY OVER PRICED DRINK. I understand that things have been quite hard on everyone with the COVID pandemic, but screwing over your own people who will be your bread and butter in the quieter times is not right. We checked in around 7 on the Sunday of the August bank holiday. We were told that we couldn’t eat in the restaurant as it was booked out, fine not a problem. We went to our room and down along the corridor’s the carpet looked like it never been hovered, empty drink classes and food boxes from other take always left outside rooms…went into room quite small for myself, my husband and our 7yr old not like the pictures on their website. Bathroom their was hair on the floor, in the bath and when you put the bath Matt down more long black hair….not good. Said nothing went to bed. Next morning breakfast shown to a table and just left their, no tea, coffee or what to do regarding food. We just followed the crowd. Food not good, went out for the day. Came back around 5, again going down to the room corridor still not hoovered empty glasses and food boxes removed that’s it.. got my 7yr ready for swimming, swimming hat on and goggles and all she was very excited… got down to be told the pool was full to capacity over the bank holiday. My daughter was crushed she loves swimming. Now I know it’s not the pool’s fault for high numbers but you would think you would be informed of the chances of pool being very busy while you were checking in. No chance. We paid for parking which we didn’t need to as you could come and go as needed. The price of drink is so expensive, we don’t drink a lot, but at the prices these guys charge you couldn’t afford to. I will NEVER stay here again. For the money we paid the Clayton should be ashamed of themselves. This was our first time away since covid and like many others we were very excited, pity it was such a let down…😤😤
