I paid £101 to have a DBS check with…

I paid £101 to have a DBS check with clear check, after the payment was made, I was asked to submit documents which I did, then I was told that I had to verify my identity, after sending a copy of my passport and my driving licence plus a utility bill.
After that I told clear check that I wanted to cancel my application for a DBS check.
Now they are ignoring my request for a refund.
PLEASE ANYONE THINKING OF USING CLEAR CHECK.
DO’NT USE CLEAR CHECK

Excellent customer service

I'm afraid the process of obtaining a DBS online was rather beyond me, but Charmaine guided me patiently through every step of the way. I could not have done it without her help and I am extremely grateful to her.

Solved the problem and very professional

The operative Aakriti solved my problem. Very professional and very helpful. I had contacted Clearcheck by mistake and needed the UK Gov DBS email address.

Terrible service

Terrible service, I paid £73 in 2023 for a DBS check for a client from my local blind charity. After which without my authority or permission they debited my account every 3 months until today! I've had to make an official complaint to trading standards and on social media. Terrible interface to get a complaint through! No human contact all via ai chatbots. Who ever is in charge of the company needs to shape up.
They did finally agree to refund £32 from the £96 debited. There was nothing in the T&C's I read that suggested continuing payments! I've complained to my bank but was told clicking or ticking the T&C's is agreeing even if it's not clear.

Scammers in plain site.

I didn't realise the cost for my DBS check as not stated on initial form. I just filled it in and payment taken. I realised I then didn't know how much so checked bank and it was a LOT more then I thought. No way of cancelling it via bank. No email to contact this company to cancel. Was auto enrolled onto a subscription I didn't know about. Cancelled that! Scammers in plain site. I want to CANCEL IT BUT I CANT. Unless get a ticket and wait 5 days. Be too late then. UPDATE. I received email re they acknowledged my request for refund/cancellation which was passed to the team. Later I get another email asking ME to log in to request refund! When I did I saw my application had miraculously zoomed through stages and my refund was now £60 less!!! WHY when I had email saying IT WAS RECIEVED AND BE PASSED TO THE TEAM. WHY DID IT CONTINUE? I'd already requested it 3-5 times via email.

Not as straightforward as I'd hoped

However, my adviser Aakriti has been very helpful. The process is somewhat confusing for someone who is applying as a self-employed person. I am not a corporate, but I seemed to have been charged the corporate fee as well as the cost of the DBS. It seemed I could not get it done any other way. Feels like a catchpenny stunt. I switched from UCheck to this service hoping for a simpler process, but it has ended up costing me more. Your staff a good, but the process is not geared for sole traders.

Kept taking money from my account

Kept taking money from my account, paid them in full and received my certificate and then they Kept taking 10 euros from my account for a couple of months, sent them an email got no response so I went to the bank to stop them. I am amazed the the Scottish police are using this company, not very honest people when they keep taking money off your card.
