Hidden charges be aware
I came to the website looking for a one-off DBS check for my business, of which it stated would cost me £29.50.
I agreed and paid via Apple Pay.
What they do not make clear is the extra costs they will take from you. £57 left my bank account within 72 hours and after speaking with my bank it was clear they had set up a recurring payment to take more at some point.
When I approached Clear Check they state the service is paid for in two payments.
This is NOT clear and is written in small print in terms and conditions.

This company has taken nearly £200 off…
This company has taken nearly £200 off me to get two enhanced DBS checks. They have also taken £37.40 of the verifier just to verify my document and I’d already paid £6 for that! Their website is so slow and hard to read as writing goes over other writing. If I hadn’t already paid I would have gone somewhere else. I messaged them for help four days ago. I’m still waiting for a reply. This company falls under clear check.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Ive ended up paying £101.50 and ended up with just a basic DBS. Ive been over charged for the initial payment which is unacceptable. Ive also tried to make contact and have not received any help. Cannot believe how much this company is charging for such poor service. Ive now found out I can have an enhanced DBS from somewhere for half the price they are charging for the basic.

Horrible website you can't even call them I applied my DBS check for my alcohol licence 4 weeks ago and I got charge 44 pounds then 15 when I ask questions they charge me again With 56 pounds every time I ask questions they keep changing me this is ridiculous overall I get charge £124 pounds.... Is not fair to charge people like this until now still no results of my DBS

Completely fraudulent company. DO NOT USE THEM!
They mask monthly payments and make promises for fast track which they don’t deliver on. You will click to pay £30 and end up paying £100.

Absolute rip off to many hidden charges and much more stressful
I cancelled my DBS check because the process was far too stressful and took far too long. I paid £44.50 upfront, before the application had even properly started, but then had repeated issues with the payment process for my ID checks, which simply wouldn't go through.
To make matters worse, there were additional charges that weren't made clear from the beginning. After cancelling, I was refunded just £7.50, meaning I lost £44.50 overall.
I have tried contacting customer support several times, but I keep receiving the same automated response and have been unable to get any help.
In the end, I applied directly through GOV.UK, where I paid £21.50, and the whole process was much simpler and easier to complete.
As someone who is self-employed, losing £44.50 has had a real impact on my finances. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Clear Check to anyone.
