They fixed everything so easily and with optimism, it was amazing. I'm a techie person, but I bought probably the first version 17 years ago and since then bought a new one when the MacBooks stopped having optical drives just because it was easier (in my naivety it was an Apple App Store cheaper "sandboxed", non-pro version). Then I lost the original and its license but it lingered back in their old records.
I had already overwritten it and that MacBook is long gone now. Here we are a decade later, and he was able to look it up live in the help chat (not a bot by the way) at 7 p.m. and was able to diagnose my own mistakes without saying they were (they definitely were my fault), help fix a couple of things, and even sent me my original Order ID and Lifetime Pro License with future upgrades and got it up and running with Pro again all at about 15 minutes with no complaints or hoops to jump through.
Absolutely amazing customer service! The program has and always does work fantastically by the way, the current version added in the fixed versions of duplicate file finder and other formerly paid add-ons!!

Definitely do not hesitate to buy a PRO Lifetime membership to this because they do support it for life with no hesitation. Everything he suggested was EXACTLY the fix the first time, every time. Then he emailed me all the information for NEXT time I get a who-knows-what kind of computer and how to transfer it there too! 6/5 STARS!

I had a 256gb thumb drive full of work files. Disk Drill came to the rescue with the recovery program. i wouldn't look any further if looking for the right choice in a recovery program

I tried to recover some files and it works

I bought Disk Drill with the lifetime upgrades back in 2020 to use then. Didn't use it until last night. It found the files I lost when my SD card died (in the middle of transferring, no less), then asked me for my activation code. My code didn't work and a KB indicated that after 2024 things changed a little. I requested the code as indicated and expected a response in 24-48 hours. Imagine my surprise when I got a response in less than an hour, and it was almost 9pm MDT (11pm EDT) Wow! I got it activated and my files recovered the same night. Incredible service!

This program has given me hope after losing many of my important documents. Thank you.

Do not use this product, not even the free version. If it finds "recoverable" files, you can not actually recover them without upgrading to a paid version. This makes the free product practically useless. The files listed as recoverable may not have the original directory/folder structure or filenames. I "upgraded" to the paid version and wasted my time and money. This is a misleading company.

I wanted a student discount, they gave me one. I wanted a refund because I paid full price for it originally, the gave me the refund. Thanks David S and the team, I appreciate it.

Lost some pretty critical work files on a USB SSD drive. Folder had just disappeared (unknown as to why). Tried Disk Drill due to internet search and found my missing folder. The data on that folder was pretty important and I can't express how I felt finding it and restoring it!! Very fast and that was just the free version. Definitely going to purchase the lifetime license. I don't want to go through that anxiety again... Thanks for this software!

I recorded an important meeting with my cell phone. After the meeting, the recording wouldn't play. Apparently, the file format I was using was susceptible to corruption of the header. Though the stream was there and the file was the right size, it was missing the index of the content that made the file playable.

I tried a number of recovery methods: standalone programs, advanced command line utilities—none of them were able to repair the file. Convinced that I might need some sort of expert, forensic approach, I looked to online data recovery service and came across CleverFiles. To my pleasant surprise, it didn't even require human intervention.

I simply uploaded the damaged file and another working file from the same device. Minutes later, I was presented a sample to confirm the repair worked. And it did! Another few minutes and a very affordable payment later, I had the full working audio.

Had I known about this service before attempting the repair myself, I would have gladly paid the fee for the time saved alone.

Absolutely love this product! I tried 3 others before coming across this one, and it was the only one that worked! Was able to recover from an old drive that had all my videos and pictures over the last 14 years of my children! Customer service is quick to respond as well when I have a couple of questions! Thank you for an amazing product!

UPDATE: After I posted this review, the company contacted me and offered a refund on the condition that I remove it. After receiving the refund, I chose not to delete the review because I believe other consumers deserve to see the full picture of my experience with the company's customer service.

Since then, I have been receiving repeated emails from the company asking me to remove the review.

One message stated: "Since I have honored our part of the agreement, I would appreciate it if you took a moment to remove your review as promised. Your feedback matters, and I want to ensure it accurately reflects the final, resolved outcome of your experience. I kept my promise, so please do the same."

While I appreciate that the refund was eventually issued, the continued pressure to take down a truthful review has only reinforced my concerns about how the company handles customer feedback.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with and their customer support.

I purchased Disk Drill PRO because, as a regular consumer (not an IT professional), I reasonably believed the paid upgrade would help me recover and properly work with files from my drive. The drive was still visible in my system tools, so it seemed logical that upgrading to the PRO version was the next step.

Unfortunately, the software did not work for my situation at all. After wasting significant time trying to make it work, I ultimately had to turn to professional data recovery specialists instead.

What frustrated me most was the company’s response when I politely requested a goodwill refund. Rather than showing any understanding, support simply repeated their policy and implied that because previews are available in the free version, the purchase was automatically “conscious and considered.” This completely ignores the reality that non-technical users may not fully understand the limitations or implications before purchasing recovery software.

I stopped using the software as soon as I realized it would not solve my problem, uninstalled it completely, and requested a refund in good faith. Despite this, they refused to make any exception whatsoever.

Their customer support felt cold, dismissive, and entirely policy-driven rather than customer-focused. I understand companies need policies, but good customer service also requires fairness and common sense.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Disk Drill or CleverFiles.

I was able to reconstruct files from a formatted memory card containing GoPro video files. Good job!

I thought my file was done, gone forever. But this little magician Mit helped me get it back. I deleted a file of my agent speaking on camera while on site after formatting my card. I got home and it wasn't there. They helped me get it back!!!

It did not work for me unfortunately.

Due to a power outage, my HDD got partially chunked. That damage locked my entire Steam directory and with it two thirds of my hard drive. I had tried multiple recovery tools that basically held the data hostage.

I downloaded Disk Drill, it allowed me access to the damaged files so I could save what I needed and clear what I didn't and now my computer actually works.
