Very disappointing experience

What a big disappointment! I went for a last minute snowboarding holiday in Les Arcs Extremes.
First I start with the positive part: the food was good and the staff of the restaurant did a great job.

But all the rest was a big disappointment. They communicate this a great place for singles and adults.
The rooms are old and cheap and do not look like on the pictures on the website. You don't want to spend your time here, except to sleep.
Than there is a system of ski and snowboard lessons in the morning and afternoon with the french ski school. I was put in a group that was too high for me. I had to hurry and stress on every slope and look where they were. I asked several time to the instructor what I did wrong and never got and answer. 'Follow me', was the respons. Yeah right. My french is not that good so he kinda avoided me. When we had to do an exercise one by one , he only said 'not bad' and that was it. The french people got a more extended explanation.
After one week I still don't know or feel what I do wrong or which exercise I should do. We started with a group of 7 or 8 and after 4 days I was the only one left but I gave up too. The last day I went on my own and only then I discovered how beautiful the domain was.
One day we have lost a brazilian guy of the group somewhere in the mountains. The instructor simply supposed that he would have returned to the hotel. But nobody checked whether this man was really safe in the hotel! This brazilian guy didn't any french or english.
The instructor went home asking us if we would see the lost pupil in the hotel. Didn't even know how he looked like!

And then the social part: I remember from my previous trip with Club med that the G.O.'s where there to make sure everybody is having a good time. Once they saw you didn't speak french well they avoided you. Due to circumstances i am single now and I wanted to meet so new and great people; Well, I had breakfast alone, lunch alone and spend a lot of time in the bar alone, took my gluewine alone, and I can go on like this... It's the GO's task to facilitate and break the ice, I am kind of shy and need a little push. And knowing some GO's personally who did the job years ago, I know for sure that one of the main tasks of the GO's to introduce people to each other. Luckily , thx to a staff member of the restaurant I was able to meet an english man who had the same problem as I had. And looking around at the singles alone at the tables near to me, I am pretty sure we are not the only ones.
I saw the Go's having a good time amongst each other or with some french guests. We felt excluded. I made this remark to the 'Chef de Village'; He would take care of it but his solution was to keep distance or simply avoid us.

The shows were really cheezy. it was clear that only two people of the 14 on stage had any dance talents. You could easily see that they spent their days practicing the dances last minute instead of taking care of the customers.

And unfortunately the covid rules changed during my week of holiday. There was a risk my QR code wouldn't be valid anymore in the skiresort. I went to reception and they simply sold me a PCR test which was not needed and no solution. I had to take care it myself and find my own solution. But they claimed to have a health and covid responsible.

I was really happy to leave this hotel and took the earliest taxi towards the railway station. I was so happy to leave this place

Terrible customer care

On Friday morning after a night by my 16-month-old son fevering at 39.5C and a couple of calls to the urgent care, we had to give in and cancel our much-anticipated trip to Club Med Cancun. Anticipated not just because we were leaving cold and grey Europe for a week but also because this was the honeymoon, we had not been able to take after getting married in front of 10 persons, my family on video conference not able to come to the country in a difficult year.
We called the Club Med as soon as the line opened at 9am and explain the situation (symptoms of COVID, which lead urgent care to organize a call instead of us taking a cab to the hospital in the middle of the night – luckily the test results came back negative on Saturday). No postponing possible, fair enough, it is last minute as we should have checked in less than 20h later. What I am really struggling with though is not to have received an email acknowledging the cancellation, maybe even starting with “we’re sorry you could not join us” – I work in marketing and this is customary to send this to people who register for events but don’t show up. Though what I expected from le Club Med, given that, let’s face it, this is not a cheap company to holiday with, was a cancellation email, inquiring about the health of our little one. You’ll call me naïve and maybe living in a world of unicorns, but this is what I expect from such company. I have had the pleasure to travel to Club Meds as a child, well I don’t think I will go back.

Customer service is a disaster

The customer service must be one of the worst. I paid for 4 people but only got 3 confirmation. I called again (total time spent on the phone for 2 calls 3 hrs of which 2:45 was waiting on the phone for them to answer) and they send the same email again. They either don't care or are incompetent. I will not travel with them again.

Poor customer service

If you've been on a ClubMed ski holiday you will know that the newly renovated hotels are superb, the food is great and most of the staff very helpful. However, their customer service regarding any bookings or issues is truly shocking considering it's 2021, especially when compared to the competition. This is our 3rd ski trip with ClubMed, which has been postponed twice for obvious reasons, and we are travelling with another family who we talked into coming for the first time. Regardless of the hotel, food, skiing, entertainment and drinks, the feeling left by the atrocious customer service outweighs all that and means it will be our last trip with ClubMed, if we ever get there !!

Great ski holiday Club med Japan This review is a little…

Club med Japan This review is a little late but it’s one of the best and unexpected trips out family did. Especially at the dawn of Covid. We actually were there in Feb 2020 and we have not skied since and we are grateful this was our last winter travel holiday. The staff was great, Chucks was one of the chefs from South Africa. Charles, zubi His team was fantastic and my teenage sons who could be picky loved and tried different foods due to his enthusiasm. Loads of great whiskey for tasting by Tarl. The Kids clubs were great our 4yr old took ski lessons every day and loved her instructor both group and individual classes. Garett very talented. My teenage sons made good friends from the club. We enjoyed the night parties the party hosts Brendan and Birkan were fantastic and so professional. Jose at the front desk was a delight to unwind with We are looking forward to attempting another club med after this experience. They made a cumbersome moment easy….. the ski runs were great, powder snow and never crowded. 💓

Dishonest marketing practices

They sell trips to destinations that get closed due to COVID, advertising a “full refund”, then refuse to refund membership fees. It is a shame that they have to use such lame tactics just to make a bit of money. Avoid this company, they do not care at all about their customers, only about $$$.

Not for handicapped that require assistance

My husband is in a wheelchair and must be pushed and fed by someone. There is no microwave in the rooms to warm foods. You must carry food from the dining room to your room with out trays or carts. There is no ice in the buildings and you must again get it from the dining room to your building. A lot of these problems could also affect families with small children or infants. For persons with walking problems there is not a golf cart or something to assist you. The resort really needs to have a handicapped walk through to see how all persons with disabilities can be accomadated. I would be happy to be called 7703158562.

Be careful people

Be careful people - cancel the cards that you paid with as they are playing games.
I raised a debit card dispute 3 months after failing to claim our ski holiday money back from a Covid cancelled trip to les arc.
Long story… but similar to most people’s cases.
After 7 months I won my debit card dispute and Lloyd paid into my account just under £7k. In the same week club med finally gave me my holiday money back (I had to prove I was an nhs worker! ) of the same amount , the fill holiday amount .
I called the bank to inform them that club med had paid up and I returned the chargeback to Lloyds and informed the disputes team to stop the claim.
Luckily I cancelled the card I used to pay them on so they didn’t have any up to date card details because :-
- 1 year later they say that I have received two payments for the holiday cancellation one - fromThe bank (which Gave back) and one from them (because they owed me it!!) they are now saying I owe for the holiday again!! And my club med account is in debt!! I’m to call their finance team and make payment - it’s a joke! Or scam!?
I can’t believe it!
My advice to anyone who is Pursuing a claim to cancel your cards that you paid with and make sure they don’t have any banking details. My bank advised me to do this and to ignore the bill as the company dont understand chargeback.
I worry that If they had my card details still they would have tried to take without my approval. I will never book through club med again.

Wont fix their mistake

I booked Greece for 1/2 term and when it was out on the amber list transferred my booking to Portugal. On checking my booking I discovered that when Clubmed switched my flights they mixed up my children’s DOB . This is a big problem with the flights. I phone on Monday am and a French man said he would sort the problem and get back to me that afternoon. No one called. Today I call and am told Clubmed can’t contact BA as they’ve closed down their offices in India and I will need to call BA customer service and try to sort out the problem myself.
This really is unacceptable. Having paid a small fortune for the trip I’m left feeling anxious and concerned we won’t be going because of a Clubmed mistake.

This company does not care, Avoid

We booked our holiday in 2019 for April 2020. Unfortunately due to Covid it was cancelled. We requested a refund but were told we were not allowed one and that they would give us a voucher. At the time I was furloughed about to be made redundant (which I eventually was) but they were not interested. Worrying that the voucher was not worth the paper it was written on we booked the same holiday the following year. This was a long and tedious process due to the poor quality customer support staff that they have. Our holiday for this year (2021) has just been cancelled so we have just rebooked aiming to book the exact same holiday for 2022. We thought that would be easy as they are offering to cover £130 per person if the cost has increased. However it turns out they don't have any of rooms we booked left (thought they might save some for those wanting to rebook) and even if they did have them left they have put the price up more than £130 per person so we have had to downgrade our room so we do not have to pay more. This was our first time traveling with Club Med, needless to say we will never travel with this company again.

Deserve to go out of business now

I have been owed over £6k since March 2020. Totally ignored for 9+ months. Yes, there has been a pandemic, and I sympathise with impacted companies who are struggling, but ignoring customers for 9 months+ is simply inexcusable. Individuals need money right now too. Club Med will likely go out of businsss due to this, and quite frankly now deserve to. Not just due to the impact of the pandemic, but due to the amount of people like me who will never book with them again for their appalling handling of this situation. For further context, soon after our ski holiday was cancelled, I used their credit note to book a beach holiday for Easter 2021. Within a few weeks of booking that, we got an automated email saying that had been cancelled too. Approx 10 months before the holiday date. Literally every email we’ve sent to every possible email address asking for any information, or for our £6k to be returned, has been ignored. The phone lines tell you not to call and don’t get answered.

Avoid like the plague

Avoid like the plague - a bunch of charlatans.

Our ski holiday was cancelled in March due to pandemic and Club RIp Off refused to give us a refund and told us to instead claim off our travel insurance!!

Never, ever, ever use them -completely dishonourable.

Do NOT BOOK with them

Do NOT BOOK with them! They will not honour your contract and repayment if they cancel your holiday. I had to action a credit card claim back to finally get a refund. They stall and stall so they hope they can keep your money and assume people will claim through their insurance. Do a credit card claim back and don't let them get away with it.

Still awaiting a refund

Booked a holiday for 6 with Club Med to celebrate my 70th birthday. Cancelled by Club Med due to pandemic. Requested a refund on 1st May then on 7 subsequent occasions. Appalled that they have sent a Refund Credit note but not the refund. ABTA say 14 days is the expected timeframe.
