Order cancelled despite confirmed stock…

Order cancelled despite confirmed stock – misleading pricing behaviour

I placed an order with Compumail for a Be Quiet! Dark Base 701 at €175 and received an order confirmation. Two days later, I was informed that my order had been cancelled due to a “stock error.”

However, the same product remained available on their website, now listed at €210. According to the price history, the item has even been priced as low as €160 in recent weeks, but the price has increased significantly — likely in connection with the upcoming Black Friday period.

This suggests that the cancellation was not due to an actual stock issue, but rather a pricing decision. Such practices are misleading and raise concerns about the company’s reliability and transparency.

Based on this experience, I would advise potential customers to exercise caution when ordering from Compumail, especially when prices appear unusually low.

Edit:
I have been in contact with Compumail, and they provided the explanation below.
However, when I sent them screenshots clearly showing the same model number and that the product was still listed as in stock on their website, they stopped responding.

This makes their explanation false, and I find it very poor practice to mislead customers in this way.

Hello Peter,

We’re sorry that your order had to be cancelled. Our supplier unfortunately had an error in their stock system, where the item was shown at an incorrect price that did not match their actual offer/product.

When the supplier removed the item from their assortment, the price on our website was automatically adjusted to the next available supplier and their price.

We therefore had to cancel the order, as the product could not be sourced at the requested price.

Extremely disappointing service — still no delivery after two weeks

Ordered a monitor that was supposed to arrive the next day. Two weeks later, I still have nothing. PostNord’s tracking shows the package was never even picked up. Customer service has been rude and completely unhelpful, only telling me to “wait until they get an update” from PostNord. No accountability, no follow-up, no solution.
I’ll never order from Compumail again.
