I feel this company just baits and…

I feel this company just baits and switches potential renters. My family applied for a home .. they go thru rently which a whole nother joke in itself. Paid 55 for 3 adults just for the application process to be delayed twice by rently. For conrex to then say the day I was approved that the home was no longer available??!! Now they have nothing avail with 2 full baths. Can't get a call back.. so my family has to rush to find a place to move to with in one weeks time! Soo irritating that a company can be underhanded as they are and still be in business. Appalling to say the least

I rent a house from Conrex and 2 months…

I rent a house from Conrex and 2 months after I moved in the roof leaked allover my furniture. I filled out a Maintenance request and they sent some one out to fix it... supposedly. 2 more months went by and we had a bad rain storm and the roof leaked again except worse... I called them and they sent someone out to repair it within a few days but I also had damages to my computer and printer and other electronics.I asked them how I was supposed to file a claim with the home renters insurance whom they made me use and take money every month for the payment but never sent me a copy of a policy. They gave me a number to alacrity solutions to file a claim. I went through email after email, sent in everything they asked for never heard back for over 2 months, when I finally get in touch with the insurance adjuster she informed me that my claim would be denied and I would receive a letter...so I then proceeded to call Conrex to ask them who was going to replace all of the stuff that was damaged and the lady told me to read my policy it tells me what is covered... what policy, yall never sent me one. Conrex is operated by a bunch of trained crooks, definitely getting someone else involved.

Worked for them

I worked for Conrex... And there were a lot of things I saw and reported to my boss that should have been fixed, but were not. They view homes as merely a vehicle to collect rents from- so long as things are "functional" (their subjective standards applied very loosely to that term), they're considered up to specification. They fail to see homes as something to improve and keep in working order and see them more as a cash cow to get out of depending on market trends or need after a few years.

It makes business sense, but working for the company also proves to me that due to the Federal Reserve, housing has largely become a commodity that no one actually perceives for what it is: more a consumption good than an investment. Their logic was that they shouldn't dump more money into a home than the rents they could get from it- in that case, why even participate in the market at all? Most homeowners will put far more into a home than they'll ever get out of it, why should Conrex think they're any different? Beyond that, even when contractors would "fix" simple things, like cabinet handles, they'd still somehow mess that up.

I don't see the morality in charging $2,000 a month for a home in a shittier part of my area only to leave holes in drywall and doors unfixed.

Worse rental ever

Worse rental ever! Toilets overflowed multiple times, many of the electrical outlets do not work, dishwasher only gets dishes wet,
Rent went from $1600 to $2000 then $2700 on the final month. When called customer service was placed on hold for LONG length of times (>45minutes). Was told 'you just don't get it' regarding price increase.

Absolute WORST rental company ever

Absolute WORST rental company ever. We had nothing but issues, with both the home and the company itself.

Company issues: Trying to get somebody on the phone is nearly impossible. Our property manager, Claudia Li, was only available for phone calls between 9 am and 9:45 am CST and only Tuesday - Thursday. Any other calls went straight to voicemail. ConRex is trying to charge us a full month's rent, plus random additonal charges for our last months rent, which is only 7 days; we have spent HOURS on hold and sent numerous emails to their collections department, all with no answer or response.

Home issues: The home has had many many issues to include but not limited to: rusted pipes leading to a flooded laundry room, leaks in the roof, mold in the kitchen resulting in the cheapest renovation possible, electrical issues, a sealed off fireplace without sealing off the chimney resulting in chimney sweeps (small birds) nesting in our chimney and some falling and dying in the fireplace, clogged gutters when there were no trees near the house when we moved in, termites in the garage, and mold growing in our bathroom and living room (still unresolved after 2 maintenance requests). After 2 years of living in the home, we still did not have a working heater; we submitted multiple maintenance requests and had several people come out to look at it, and nobody seemed to be able to fix the issues, this resulted in our home only being able to get to 66 degrees in the winter time.

The kitchen "renovation " resulted in my fiance and I missing weeks of work because the project drug out when the contractor just wouldn't show up and ConRex refused to compensate us with discounted rent for that month.

Overall, if I could rate this company a "zero" star, I would. They are the epitome of only being in it for the money. This company will go the cheapest possible route with the cheapest possible materials and cheapest possible contractor to fix any issues in the home. The company appears to be severely under staffed and very disorganized.

Please do yourself a favor, and stay as far away from ConRex as humanly possible.

Worst company ever to rent from

Worst company ever to rent from. Would give negative stars if it was an option. I am out of the country on military orders and moved out of the home in June. I am still being charged utilities for a house someone else is living in. It is impossible to speak to an actual person and when you do they are less than helpful. They use a utility company called Simple Bills who are just as bad as Conrex (you are required to use them) When you move out Conrex is supposed to close out the utilities but did not and so I am still being billed. You cannot delete your payment method from Simple Bills so now I have an unauthorized charge on my credit card from them for utilities someone else is using. I have contacted both companies multiple times with no help. Beware of renting from them.

If I could give a zero I would

If I could give a zero I would. Do not rent from them. They are not professional, it is very difficult to speak to an actual person. No preventative maintenance is done. If you do need maintenance they threatened to add changes to your account. The a/c technician they sent looked like he was on drugs. Issue not fixed, had to have it repaired myself. Threatening text messages are sent as a reminder to pay rent on the first or eviction will be filed by the 6th.

Trouble upon lies upon trouble

RUN! There are other landlords, I promise. Run.

We have lived in a modest brick Conrex house for 3.5 years, which we like a whole lot. But we've had lies and trouble all along:

1. We have had a recurring sewage leak in the yard. As usual they do the least they can to fix it, and they tried to make us pay for the work. THERE IS A CREEK in back, so sewage flows downhill--past a pasture with livestock, a dog breeder, and homes with children.

Dude who came to deal with the sewage INSIDE was incompetent. He halfway cleaned with bleach (seriously?) and USED MY BROOM...without washing or replacing it afterwards. He did not properly rinse (think of the stench) or even get all the feces off the walls etc. Conrex wound up paying for a real clean-up company when I made genuine and completely appropriate threats.

2. There are drained decorative ponds in the back yard, full of literal garbage, pump parts, wiring--even a rusty knife. They fill with water for a convenient mosquito-breeding spot just by our porch.

3. Our porch stairs and part of the porch are built on a single layer of cinder blocks... They are of course about to collapse. The railings are rotten and Conrex has refused to replace or at least brace them. Repeatedly.

4. Our bath exhaust fans are not vented, which is a code violation and makes the bathroooms hot and humid...leading to mold that we're responsible for?!

5. There is nicotine leaking through the paint.

6. The AC unit is not leveled, so the house is full of moisture and mold.

7. Front door doesn't fit and cannot always be opened. It is unsafe. We have begged over and over.

8. Our basement has leaked since the first time it rained. Still not completely resolved.

9. Two ceiling lights have fallen out spontaneously, one nearly hitting my husband's head. Why? They were tacked into sheetrock without anchors.

10. For several months, our rent amount was wrong in the system through which you pay. I did manage to get it back, but it took precious time. I understand from other reviews I was lucky.

11. They force you to use SimpleBills, which is also an incompetent and shady company. When SB screws things up, Conrex says it's not their problem.

12. Our tub and sink were peeling and uncleanable. Conrex sent a company that apparently doesn't know how to do the job. Working on the third try--which is a whole day's disruption and three days without our bathroom.

We are in touch with the Better Business Bureau, our local inspector, and a lawyer. If you're going to rent from a known scam org, better know your rights.

WHY NOT SUE?!

I give two stars only because I've not rented from Conrex, but have experience with them. I've seen really nice houses from them.. But I read they focus on cosmetics, meaning not structural and not functionality of their homes. Their rental approval expectations is ridiculous and most people making what they want you to make to rent a 800 to 1200 dollar home would not be renting from them. A better question is, why don't anyone of you sue? These are some horrible reviews and sounds like legal action can be made via a class action lawsuit. From taking application fees on occupied homes (and not returning the fees) to horrible living conditions to mentally and emotional damage to overly priced unreasonable Simple Bills billing tactics. Why not report to BBB and sue?

I moved into my house I rented through…

I moved into my house I rented through Conrex on 5/11/22 & my electric was shut off on 5/24/22 as Simple Bills (who I’m forced to use to pay my utilities) has a past due balance at the electric company for the property. I am living in a motel with my pets as no one will pay the past due bills. I begged the electric company to allow me to pay it & was shot down. When I asked the folks at Simple Bills how they were going to make this right, they laughed at me. When I asked Conrex if I’m expected to continue to pay rent for a house that has no electricity, she said “why wouldn’t you be?” I want every employee at Conrex & Simple Bills to be FORCED as I have to use the Simple Bills service. I really believe if they were in the same situation, the laughing & amusement & nasty comments would end. The folks at both these companies make sure you know they do not care & even worse, think it’s funny. It’s companies & people like you that are making this world an awful place. May all of you at Conrex & Simple Bills be put in the same situations as your customers, may all of you suffer financially & mentally because of it. May all of you remember how you laughed as so many of us have cried. I’m supposed to have my family here for the holiday & I’m in a motel room with my pets spending it alone.

Conrex is an awful Rental property…

Conrex is an awful Rental property management company, I have been battling with Claudia Li and Phillip Rinehart about the horrible condition this property is in for about 6 months. I was told I could transfer to another property but then Claudia Li said we couldn't out of the blue. Now the reason they said we couldn't transfer is because we were late 3 times, but Claudia Li sends me a renewal letter for the property so I ask her this (Evening Claudia

I'm wondering why your sending me a renewal notice? When you said we could not rent with Conrex further? Can we now apply for a different home? Just asking being that you never mentioned the reason why we could no longer rent with conrex, after we discussed switching homes within my current rent rage?... Thank you in advance.) This was her response (Hell,

You can renew for the same home but you can not transfer to a different home because you have been late more than 3 times.
Claudia Li) so I can rent a dilapidated property that the rent has went up an additional $45 that I have been late 3x and still can lease, but they won't move my family to new property under new lease because I have been late 3x. And simplebills is a rip-off they don't monitor your electric or water no statements they just send you a bill with no usage. I

I am a 100% disabled Vet

I am a 100% disabled Vet, that got a behind on my rent. I was paying weekly to catch up. I paid them 400$ on the 20th of April. On the 21 of April I received a letter from the sheriff giving me 24 hours to vacate. After calling Conrex and the magistrate, this was what I got. The magistrate told me that they wish they could help but if Conrex called and canceled the eviction then I would be ok. I talked to Conrex and let them know I had all the money to catch up. But they wouldn’t take it because of policy. So they are kicking out a family of 4 where I can’t work because I’m a disabled veteran. How is this fair. I served my country for over a decade and that doesn’t mean anything to these people.

Company is a Joke- DISGUSTING HOUSE

I just went and looked at one of this company’s rental properties and it was disgusting. The years has a rotten tree stump with bugs and holes, the closet in the master bedroom has a whole the dice of a lunch tray that has the crappiest bondo job I’ve ever seen, there is pee and/or poop stains from the previous owners all over the top floor right up the stairs, and there are patches up crappy bondo-ed holes in just about every bedroom. Very disappointed that for almost $2k a month the place is this bad. Read the reviews on here people. This company is crap and fishy as multiple people have left reviews saying the company has stolen money and sold their houses from underneath them. Beware!!!
