The help we received to rectify a problem with our Sandtex masonry paint was 1st Class.
Leanne from the head office dealt with our issue and was responsive and able to help us quickly.
The Crown Decorating Centre staff in Newcastle were equally as helpful when dealing with me and my questions.

Looking for answers relating to Sadolins satin white Superdec paint. Apparently marketed by Crown paints.
This microporous paint quoted as 10 year durable I can confirm as it has outlasted this by some years.
Looking to refresh my front door with same I completed the task only to see the colour not so white on drying .it is a patchy off white and not what I’d expected as from memory many years back I was very pleased with its whiteness. What’s gone wrong this time. It was a relatively new almost full tin. I’m reluctant to ditch it due to the cost

Newly plastered ceiling 1 mist coat then 4 coats and still it looks patchy never buy Crown paint again

WHAT THE HELL OF CROWN DONE TO THEIR STAY WHITE GLOSS RANGE?
THEY HAVE DESTROYED IT.
I HAVEN'T BOUGHT ANY OF THIS PRODUCT UNTIL RECENTLY. AS PART OF A REDECORATION PROJECT.
WHY HAVE THEY RUINED WHAT USED TO BE A FANTASTIC PRODUCT?
THIS DISGUSTING 'VEGAN' FORMULA IS NOT PAINT - IT IS SOYA MILK !!!!
IT IS COMPLETELY LIQUID, IT HAS NO STRUCTURE OR STRENGTH. NO COVERAGE CAPABILITIES.
WHOEVER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR BLUE SKY THINKING IN CREATING THIS RUBBISH. NEEDS DIPPING IN A VAT OF SOMETHING CORROSSIVE !
BRING BACK THE OLD FORMULA.

Crown provided a voucher for a pot of paint. This was after they had already put the phone down, in-effect, the credit after having left a review. You might be thinking that they deserve more stars after providing a free pot; however, more stars is not in fact deserved.
When you make a colour of a particular line, you stick to it so that your customers can dab-in where required, over the forthcoming years, otherwise it means repainting whole rooms.
This total lack of consideration combined with their stupid excuses simply merits no positive feedback.
About twelve years ago, I bought Soft Khaki and Mellow Sage in their 'Breath Easy' Silk emulsion. I only know it was the Breath Easy line because I eventually came across some remaining paint in the Soft Khaki.
The company as a whole did the very least they could in trying to recall what line of paint I had bought, prior to my discovery of the used pot of Soft Khaki.
There are rival companies out there which behave to the opposite and go out of their way, from initial point-of-contact, to make sure you walk away satisfied.
Crown's excuses range from painted walls changing in tone over the years due to atmospheric conditions, variations from batch to batch in the manufacturing processes and (I like this one) formula updates in production, the last not even in excuse format!...
First of all, painted walls still look the same as the original colour, over time, within senisble limits, and second, if you call paint a certain colour then it should remain that colour or else be given a different title and this the case whether a new formula or not and which is the reason for the existence of areas known as 'testing-labs'.
Crown haven't followed-up and I had to fight to sustain communication when in dialogue and which was not rewarding when so. In some areas of the country, the population scoff too much dough and it makes them lethargic; either that, or management with a trickle-down effect hates the idea of customer satisfaction...
The lack of thought does indeed make me think that changing the tonal value of a colour could have made Crown a lot of money, were customers unimaginative enough to buy from them again once they tragically found out that Crown were not producing colours true to original shades, sales trickery I have to say just typical of certain regions of the country where there is too much doughy consumption.
I now have a 'Trade' version of the paint and which is not the shade of Mellow Sage I painted the walls with, either, a professional version obtained, voucher in hand, with the idea that it might not have been altered. And I have been left with no viable option. And no, repainting already-painted walls is not one.

Have been decorating for 35 years, have never had to do so many coats of crown thick and creamy to try and achieve an exceptable finish, marks so easily, would never recommend to any of our customers

I've been purchasing online for over 20 years. Crown are the worst I have ever encountered. Absolutely zero communication re. Orders, shipping etc. Never received my order, multiple emails unanswered. They are either incompetent or completely indifferent to customers. I will never use a Crown product or service ever again.

WORSED PAINT I'VE EVER BOUGHT. Thinking it was quality I purchased 2 x 10Ltr "PURE BRILLIANT WHITE MATT EMULSION". My hallway was a "very pale pink", after the 1st coat would not adhere [after washing the walls & allowing to dry over night], 2nd coat same problem so took 1.5 10Ltr drums to recycling centre & am looking for desent paint.
DON'T WASTE HARD EARNT MONEY ON THIS RUBBISH

We bought Crown crafted poetry luxurious flat matt finish. Due to the size of our kitchen we needed 2 x 2.5L tins. We got the paint on the walls, loved the colour and it painted with ease. Obviously 1 tin was not enough so we started on the other tin only to find it's a different colour. Same batch numbers, but different. We now are unsure what to do as we have now done another coat with the new tin but may need a third! What if that's a different colour?

Just had most of the house decorated with Crown Mid Sheen and tbh am delighted with the results: both coverage and finish. Delivery was exactly when they said it would be. However, the 5 star review is definitely for Customer Care. We had to return quite a lot of unused paint (we massively overbought) and could not have asked for more helpful, professional and friendly service - absolutely outstanding all round.

Bought some paint recently and had an issue with the lid. Unfortunately had to prise it apart so it left the container not airtight. I contacted customer services, I had a quick response and a full refund, great customer service. The paint despite the negative reviews on here was great used to paint my kitchen ceiling - two coats and was perfect I used the brilliant white no patchiness as mentioned in previous reviews and was a good price too

As a painter and decorator, I believe that crown has some of the best paint on the market. I especially like Clean Extreme, for its price point, application and durability.

Worst paint I've ever used, freshening up white coving and might as well be using water. Very poor coverage, looks like it will need about 4 coats.

Bought 3 x 2.5l tins of pure brilliant white gloss. Mixed them with a paint mixer drill attachment and it was magnolia when applied. Opened and mixed second tin, same results. Tried the 3rd and it's the same again. I sanded, washed with sugar soap, let it dry fully and used undercoat. It's not me that's wrong. This paint is yellow. Also it drags and balls up with every brush stroke. Awful paint. I thought it might be from old stock or something in the range, but from reading these reviews, I reckon it's just rubbish. I'll be taking it back to the range in the morning and swapping it for dulux or Johnstones

Just wasted money on 2 tins of Crown emulsion! It’s awful! Very runny, poor coverage. Won’t be buying this any more

I ordered a paint online. I collected the paint and took it home, to find it was a completely different colour from that shown online. If it had been fairly close, this would not have been a problem. I took the paint back to the store (Aberystwyth). I was told that I could not trust the colours online. I asked why then was online ordering was offered. I got no answer and no resolution was offered. 36 miles driven. Money spent. Not the product I ordered. Recommend avoid.
