I bought a Cube E-bike in May 2025 from Tredz.co.uk through cycle2work scheme. The bike costed £2,449. In March 2026 (Less than a year and only after 193 miles) I found the chain snapped, got a... See more

My cube ebike is marvellous but redesign kickstand for heavy touring

My cube ebike is marvellous it has allowed me to continue cycling to a rip and ld age and I also marvel at its Minimal but perfect design
Also there is no doubt that it has been first class value for money
However I urge cube to redesign the kickstand arrangements
I have had to strengthen the stand and drill out the frame to use a stronger bolt
I am worried the frame may have been weakened too much but I did not think I had a choice

Not sure why so many 1 star reviews

Not sure why so many 1 star reviews since I recently purchased a Cube Analog 27.5 and I know I got way more bike than what Ia paid for under E700. Compared to other bikes in this price range you get everything what other companies give, but you also get Sram SX Eagle added to the kit. The quality is equal if not even better than other manufacturers. Its good to see a company offer the same time, effort and energy to to their affordable bikes as they they to their highest performance bikes. I'm really glad I bit the bullet and took a chance and got a Cube bike

HOW DO PEOPLE BREAK THESE BIKES!

Honestly, reading some of these 1 star reviews, I wonder what they do with their bikes. I am 196cm, 105kg (so probably one of the larger people getting around on a bike) and I have ridden my Cube Reaction Pro (Size XXL) almost every weekend for the last year at my local downhill/ XC trail. To this day, I have had no dramas whatsoever and I bomb steep bumpy downhills, tank technical rocky sections and have cased more than a couple jumps. I do not see how my XC Hardtail bike can stand up to my abuse but somehow for others can't handle a few rides to work... I think there is a bigger issue here for most people - and that's maintenance. CLEAN YOUR BIKE! TAKE CARE OF YOUR CHAIN/ GEARSET/ CRANKSET!!!! I have not even had mine serviced by a bike shop... just use common sense and your bike will last!

Would definitely recommend Cube to mates and strangers alike...

Do not waste you money on a Cube bike.

A year ago I have bought Cube Stereo 150 SL in XL frame size. That was the worst decision in my life so far. The bike is an expensive (£3500) pice of s...This bike is not made to last. The frame is really noise and weak (cracks after a small rock punch). I get a lot of noise, it's hard to say from where. The tyres last 1.5 months - not great. Never ending problems with rear brake. To replace shock bolts I have to wait 4 moths- shocking! It really hard to get a part name/number, lack of support from Cube, (no response at all) lack of any proper documentation online. After a few ride I have lost 2 bolts - really dangerous! If you want a safe MTB bike do not buy Cube!

Bought a Cube Hyde - don't.

Bought a Cube Hyde. Awful never again.
On day 1 sprocket sheared.
Over the next 6 months the bike had to go back several times for;
- snapped belt
- the bolts came out of the rear triangle whilst the bike was in use (dangerous!)
- the belt kept slipping so needed to be tightened multiple times
- finally, the frame cracked by the bottom bracket so I'm no waiting for confirmation from Cube they'll provide a new bike under the warranty. Evans Cycles put the request into Cube 7 days ago, still no response.
My use of the bike was restricted to 8 miles each way into work and back on standard UK roads in London, no reason for the bike to behave in this way.
After the sprocket sheared and the belt kept slipping, I emailed Cube to ask for their view on what's happening - 4 months later no response.

Just don't buy Cube.

Excellent bike, highly recommended

Hey CUBE brothers and sisters!!! :)
Have CUBE Acid since 2014 bought as second hand 2 years old. Bike was like new with minor scratches and still like new. Loved it from the day one and no regreats.
I'm not heavy user - on average I do up to 3000km a year. Since bike was purchased I only changed pedals for better ones in 2016, brake pads in 2017 (didn't change disks, still original set), changed bottom bracket twice 2016 & 2019 (upgraded stock to better spec), changed front gear set in 2018, chain in 2019 (first time since it was purchased), both tyres in 2019 (first time) and next on my list to do fork maintenance.

Terrible service with a warranty claim

Terrible service with a warranty claim. Took 2 months for a claim to be denied. Also as for the bikes, bad quality: in the 5 months I've owned one (only been using it to cycle 15mins to and from work) and the crank shaft has snapped and now the back wheels spokes are all now loose.

Customer service may affect you even if you don't buy direct from them.

I see others complaining about their customer service, but even if not buying direct from them, you can still get caught out. I bought through Tredz but there's a fault with the bike - dynamo doesn't work on the Cube Nature Allroad 2019; Cube still haven't supplied the new dynamo to Tredz and it's already about 4 weeks since I returned the bike. They are blaming Cube. As for the bike, it's ok (if you can say getting a brand new bike where a major feature like a pricey dynamo doesn't work) but the mudguards are pretty cheap and I kind of regret not replacing the Giant I had previously, which seemed of better quality all round.

AVOID CUBE BIKES AT ALL COSTS!!!

AVOID CUBE BIKES AT ALL COSTS!!!! I bought a Cube Stereo 140 HPC Race a year ago. The quality and workmanship of the frame is atrocious. Firstly, I've suffered a snapped suspension main pivot bolt, taking 3 weeks to fix and leaving me wondering if it's going to happen again every time I go over a bump. Secondly, the bearings in the chainstays did't fit properly and slid in and out of the frame, this time taking 6 weeks to fix. And now I've finally got it back, the dropout no longer fits properly in the new drive side chainstay; you have to tighten the axle with the mech hanger bolt loose, and then tighten it afterwards. When you then remove the rear wheel afterwards, the rear mech will then flap around, hanging off the tiny mech hander screw. According to Wheelbase Cycles this is all by design! I've never heard such a load of BS in all my life, apart from when they also said snapping main pivot bolts is normal too. AVOID CUBE AND WHEELBASE if you value your sanity. The quality is so poor they shouldn't even be given away in boxes of cereal.

CUBE BIKES DREADFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE

DREADFUL CUSTOMER CUSTOMER CUBE BIKES.Just read previous posts re Cube Bikes customer service. They are all correct it is non existent. They do not reply to emails from customers or their dealerships. I have even telephoned Germany just told to get dealership to email. They produce really nice bikes but when things go wrong they just ignore you. Have also tracked down and contacted manufacturer of actual part made especially for Cube, they have emailed Cube and asked them to respond. Now 8 weeks without my very expensive 10 month old Ebike for which I cannot get a part and so is unridable. My local Cube dealership has had to contact Raleigh to get a similar part and then hope to mofify it.
How do companies of Cubes profile get away with this behaviour. I have even tried emailing their CEO MARCUS PRUINER no response.
Thinking of going down the County Court route but not sure if able to issue summons outside UK.
ANY ADVISE WOULD BE MOST APPRECIATED. THANKS ALL.

Sad ☹️

14 months old and finished ? Surly Cube ? . My son is 11 it was a birthday present he uses it mainly for school and loves wheelies. Admittedly it’s not looked after but service with a cube supplier and been there 2-3 times in last 14 months. £500 for a kids bike I thought it would last longer. I’ve got bikes in my garage that would be able to ride that have been there for 15 years and not touched for 5 .

Great bikes for fair prices

Bought a Cube Acid 26 back in 2011, which I rode for 5+ years without any issues. Now I ride a 2016 Cube Agree SL - no issues, light, stiff, reliable, outstanding value for the money.

It's made my Summer....Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro 500

I bought a cube from Evans in May.Its an electric one with a Bosch 500 cx performance motor a Reaction Hybrid.
Since May I have knocked up 800 miles mostly on Sustrans cycle routes but occasionally on MTB woodland routes but it's a bit heavy for that but that's not the bikes fault.
Overall it's made my summer and has been totally reliable just seat post clamp going a bit funny but Evans put another in and it's perfect.
I love the bike as it looks better than any other e bike out there and has been the best £2000 I've spent in a long time.

Only gets one star because there is no option for no stars. Cube are thee single worst bike mob in the world. DO NOT BUY CUBE....EVER! 12 months no email reply. Tredz bikes sorted it out but took 3 months. Now back in the same situation with a catastrophic linkage failure riding in the French Alps. Only two bearings missing from where they should be! The rocker arm on my fritzz has one bearing(factory fitted) either side. You order a replacement kit and it comes with four!!! SHOULD BE TWO EACH SIDE. Can't go on anymore ranting. Cube suck. Build quality, customer service , all of it. It's embarrassing. So finally...DO NOT BUY CUBE! TELL YOUR RIDING MATES TO NOT BUY CUBE!
Ps. DO NOT BUY CUBE......EVER!

Bought my Cube Reaction R last Nov and even though I have been upgrading (SPD pedals, Carbon Handelbar, dropper) it is a fabulous value and Bike. Now for their service. Larry is the man. He knows exactly what I need when I contact their Service dept. Knowledgeable, courteous and very fast response. Service is the key to a strong reputable company and Larry is a prime example of that.
