Subscription Pricing is a Rort

Subscription Pricing is a rort. I really like the dashlane product BUT the subscription started off 2 years ago as $19.99/yr then a year later that doubled to $39.99/yr and now it's been increased to $59.99/yr. Plus the fact their marketing does not indicate this is USD. I must be a mug to stay and keep paying these exorbitant increases? When does it stop??

Blocked from my passowords if I don't pay x3 annual price

After being customer for several years, I suddenly can't use my passwords if I don't renew to 3x the previous price. No heads up or notification that this should take place. Not allowed to contact support if I'm not a paying customer. I have "view" access which also has blocked copying my passwords.
Buy bye Dashlane, this is not how I want to be treated as a customer.

No way to contact them if you are not a…

No way to contact them if you are not a customer and they have fraudulent use of your email address. Email customer support and just get a generic response from a 'do not reply' email telling you to go online and use their chat bot but it won't deal with you if you aren't a customer.

Very Helpful

Support was extremely helpful in getting the issue resolved. We were disconnected through the chat box, but then they followed up with me through email to make sure the issue was resolved.

I believe he went above and beyond with his customer service.

Thanks so much, Rick!

Do all they can to force you into an annual subscription

Basically forcing into paying an annual subscription.

I ended up putting all of my passwords on their platform (back when it was a monthly sub) then they decided to try and force me to pay by the year.

Now Iv changed all of my passwords to “stronger” ones generated by the app (forcing me to copy and paste through the app) Ive been trapped into use the app unless I go through and change all of my passwords again which will take forever as Iv got 100+ passwords stored on there.

Iv held off paying their annual subscription subscription fee as long as a I can as it’s so expensive to pay all at once.
As a cherry on top they’ve now done an update so you can’t even copy and paste your passwords off the platform! They are doing all they can to force you to pay.

I’m now going to have to take all of my passwords off the platform and transfer them to a different platform that allows me to pay monthly and it’s going to take ages… Cheers Dashlane… very bad business, very unethical.

Dashlane added a big safety improvement

I've used Dashlane for about 2 years and think it's great. Prior to Dashlane, I used Roboform and LastPass. Dashlane is superior to both for my needs. Recently, Dashlane added an important feature, a PIN login that is easier to enter than the full master password and only works on the one computer where it is entered plus it automatically logs out after around 30 minutes. Before this, Dashlane would stay active for up to 14 days on the computer, which was dangerous in case somebody else (an intruder) accessed the system.

Thank you Dashlane for the big safety improvement.

One final note, I have always had problems using Dashlane on my Android phone, I only use it on Windows computers.

Great app

Great app! It works really well, and the security is top-notch. I also love the support. Although it can sometimes be a bit tricky to find the live chat option, don’t worry—it’s there! Even when reaching out via email, the response is quick. They’ve replaced my Hotspot Shield account multiple times at no extra cost, which is amazing. Gotta love Dashlane for that!

Free Plan Changes are TERRIBLE

They've recently made adjustments to the free plan, I am fine with having restricted feature set, no new passwords etc, but they've started making the free version terrible to use.

It started with requiring your master password for every password copy, and they've now done away with that and instead made the default copy/paste keybinds not work. You can still copy passwords easily with Tampermonkey scripts, but it shouldn't be a service pushed with annoyance. If you offer a better feature set for a lower price, I'd be tempted, but at this point I'll be going Bitwarden.

No access to password vault without latest OS

Dashlane requires you to have the latest version of their app and the latest version of the OS installed. If you don't want to or can't, Dashlane will lock both your current app to your password vault without any warning. This will also block access to all your apps that require a password. Very arrogant and illegal.

used to be great

used to be great. price hikes, broken android app for autofill, broken firefox plugin that is now so unintuitive, removal of yubikey support, not worth the cost for a family subscription anymore. Stop "innovating" when your innovations are steps backwards.

Great while it worked, poor customer service and no longer good value

Had years of good service on the technical side of the service, working apps for all platforms and family plan was perfect for us. However, following a recent price increase I had a terrible experience with customer support who were consistently confusing my issues, stating that I'd taken actions that were not true, and taking months to resolve something that should have been a simple request.

Can't praise high enough.

I have been assisted by very competent, knowledgable staff members when I have approached Dashlane for advice and help. They have a calming demeanor and assist willingly.
Step by step, written directions and NO pressure.
I'm very happy with my experiences from purchase to a recent self-caused issue.
