This worked great, by calling the hotel to confirm. On a whim, I did a web search for 'day use' hotels. daybreakhotels.com was one of the options listed. It had a good selection of hotels in my area. I booked a day use stay for that same day. But, because I wasn't familiar with the service, I called the hotel directly a couple hours later and gave them the confirmation number that I had received. At first, they had trouble finding the reservation. But, after explaining that it was a day use reservation and that it was made by a third party, they happily confirmed the reservation. We had a great room, a great rate and a great time.
When I arrived at the hotel, not only had they not heard of DayBreakHotels but they couldn’t find my “confirmed reservation”. I’m watching my credit card to see if I get charged.
Complete scam.
Update 11/20/23:
More than a YEAR later, DayBreakHotels tried to get this review removed and said it was invalid for containing harmful or illegal content, which is only harmful to their business model. They have horrible customer service and did not appropriately address my concerns, or perhaps I could have updated my review to be positive. I have phoned the hotel I used and the person at the front desk has never heard of DayBreakHotels.
Do not use under ANY circumstance.

Reply from DayBreakHotels
I have made 2 bookings through DayBreaksHotels.com and both times they did not inform the hotel of my booking so they were not expecting me.
I emailed this company to find out if their rooms were available for day bookings under the current level of coronavirus restrictions (since no overnight stay involved). After ignoring my first email (not the only one they ignored) and having chased them up, they told me that, "the hotels you see bookable are accessible to all customers". Reassured by their email, I made a reservation. I subsequently received an email saying, "we are writing regarding your reservation for the hotel above. The hotel just informed us that you can use the room just if you are key workers."
Why didn't they check with the hotel before they advised me incorrectly? It was the whole point of emailing them in the first place. I even went to the trouble of sending them the link to the exact hotel I was enquiring about.
