I purchased the DCW620NT-XJ Router and it came with a 12mm and 8mm collet not the standard 1/2" and 1/4". This has now cost me £100 more to get the fittings. Dewalt stated each retailer sells... See more

Beware with warranty terms and…
Beware with warranty terms and conditions. Even to get the basic 1 year guarantee you must register within 4 weeks of purchase. I was given DeWalt tools as Xmas present but they were bought several weeks earlier when there was a special offer on. Plus the 3 year warranty mentioned in the blurb with the tool is only available for trade and professional users.
Warranty is a joke
Warranty is a joke.
You’ll not get anything fixed and fobbed off.
54volt batteries are awful and won’t last 12 months
Very disappointing warranty support
Extremely disappointed with DeWalt’s warranty handling.
I received two drills as part of an official DeWalt promotion when purchasing a garden strimmer. I registered one of the drills correctly, but unfortunately ended up using the other one, which later developed a clear fault (reverse selector behaving incorrectly and a seized chuck).
Despite providing full proof of purchase, promotion confirmation, and flagging the issue before the tool was collected for repair, DeWalt refused to offer any warranty support purely because that specific serial number was not registered — even though it came from the same promotion, same purchase date, and same bundle.
The tool was already collected by their authorised repair centre before DeWalt responded, only for me to be told later that warranty would not be honoured and I should pay £59.99 + VAT for the repair instead.
This wasn’t misuse or abuse of the warranty — just an administrative mistake — yet there was zero goodwill or flexibility shown. Very rigid interpretation of policy and poor customer experience overall.
For a premium brand, I expected far better support.
brilliant
their circular saw is a beast of a tool, cuts like a hot knife through butter and makes a fresh clean cut, not to mention ease of use and satisfying result.
I rarely leave negative reviews
I rarely leave negative reviews, especially for brands I’ve supported for years, but my recent experience with DeWalt has been so frustrating and unacceptable that I feel obligated to warn others.
I purchased a DeWalt 18V pressure washer for £400 — a premium price that should come with premium reliability and support. Unfortunately, the lance gun began leaking, making the tool difficult and inefficient to use. These things happen, and I wasn’t upset initially. What turned this into a deeply disappointing experience was the way DeWalt handled the issue from start to finish.
When I contacted customer support, I explained clearly that the only faulty component was the lance gun. Their solution? I was told I must send in the entire pressure washer — the full, heavy, bulky machine — just to repair the leaking gun.
I no longer have the original box, and this equipment is massive. Finding safe packaging would have cost me additional money and time, and even then, without the original foam and structure, there’s a high risk of it being damaged in transit. On top of that, sending the entire unit leaves me without a working pressure washer for my business, even though the washer itself is fine.
I politely asked, multiple times, if I could send in just the gun, the only part affected. Not only would this save me trouble and cost, it would save DeWalt on transport as well. Instead, I received the same rigid, dismissive response over and over: “No.”
No flexibility. No understanding of the practical issues. No attempt to offer an alternative solution. Just a flat refusal, repeated in every email.
What shocked me most was the complete lack of customer care. It felt like dealing with a company that had no interest in actually helping its customers — just ticking boxes and quoting policy, even when it makes zero sense. You’d expect better from a global brand, especially for products at this price point.
As a business owner, and someone who has actually served as a DeWalt brand ambassador, this experience has been incredibly disappointing. I have recommended DeWalt tools for years based on their quality and reliability, but after being treated with such inflexibility and indifference, I’m seriously reconsidering that loyalty. If this is how they handle support issues, especially for customers who stand behind their brand, then something is very wrong.
For anyone considering a purchase: be aware that if something goes wrong, you may find yourself stuck in the same frustrating loop I went through — expensive equipment, a simple fault, and a support process that seems more focused on rules than solutions.
Extremely disappointing experience from a brand I once trusted.

I bought the dewalt cordless vac it probably the worst cordless tool I’ve ever bought. I’ve got loads of dewalt kit and this has put me off as it’s proper rubbish
Completely inept
Completely inept. 3times returned and not identified fault. They keep returning but no communication. Buy Milwaukee or anything else . Inexcusably bad
Disappointed with reliability of DeWalt DCS355
I’ve always chosen DeWalt tools for their professional reputation, but my experience with the DCS355 Brushless Multi-Tool has been disappointing.
I bought it for some DIY work at home, expecting the usual DeWalt quality. Unfortunately, the first unit stopped working within weeks, and even the replacement developed the same issue shortly after. Both had to be returned — not something I’d expect from a premium brand.
It’s a shame, because when the tool worked, it performed really well — comfortable to use and powerful enough for my needs. But the reliability just hasn’t matched the reputation.
I hope DeWalt takes note and looks into quality control for this model, as I’d really like to keep trusting their tools in future.
Most comments are bs to be honest
Most comments are bs to be honest. Never once have dewalt turned down a repair. They even collect and drop at youre door. Registration can be a bit slow sometimes but so far repaired 2 3 of my tools .I would add my email confirmations if I could to show
avoid after sales are shit new drill…
avoid after sales are shit new drill and driver battery will not charge contacted Dewalt go back to the company who sold it you £295 down the drain . have purchased a set from Milwaukee
Not really trustworthy.
My account no longer works contact customer service told they will get back to me and didn't. So started a new account to register another Dewalt purchase. Registering is a nightmare when i tapped in my model number it says not recognised purchased from screwfix. Checked online it is a genuine model. Contacted customer service again telling me a fault with their system. I believe they dont want to give you the 3 year warranty this has happened on a previous product i purchased. Do no trust dewalt.
Support Is Non Existent!!
I'm only giving one star chase I have to for a start!
Called DeWalt support and spoke to a very nice lady who immediately gave me a technical support number. She had no knowledge base of the issue I described which is very common throughout the web. This is very unlikely. The technical support number is a chargeable number between 13p and 58p a minute. Called the number anyway and it rang out for some time before a message saying no one is available to take my call. There was no greeting or identification that this was a DeWalt Technical Support.
Disgraceful for a company with this reputation. I'm off to buy an Evolution Table Saw...
Extended warranty is rubbish
I was given a dewalt screwgun for a gift. Filled in all the details for the extended warranty. Just over a year later the screw gun motor is completely burnt out. Contact dewalt and 6 weeks later they say sorry we can’t help as you don’t have a purchase invoice. Worst customer service and worse equipment I’ve ever used. Do yourself a favor and buy a different brand. Dewalt you should be ashamed of yourselves…… digraceful
Seems people are way too quick to leave…
Seems people are way too quick to leave reviews when they have issues rather than leave reviews when they don't. Absolutely brilliant stuff. Far superior than most other brands. Great quality, work brilliantly and extremely reliable. So many fakes out there, WHY would you buy those instead of the real thing? Maybe lots of you have fake items and think they're real? Probably. Buy from official distributors only NOT EBAY
Bad ,How do I get dewalt strimmer…
Bad ,How do I get dewalt strimmer repaired?
Looking on the dewalt website is no good no repair centers anywhere near Norwich. Dewalt website is not user friendly and sends you around in circles. I like Dewalt tools but if my strimmer has broken to soon (just clicks) why should I buy another one , I will try another make.

Bought tools screw fix and must admit they are fantastic. Drill, screw drivers and battery packs great
Never again I paid for the 3 tier…
Never again I paid for the 3 tier stacking box had it 2 weeks and the handle snapped off the bottom box so i strapped it up then 2; week later the clip's snapped off the second box. i don't carry nothing heavy in them just dust sheets for my job. I should have just paid £20 for a cheap no make one it would have lasted longer
DeWalt – you are responsible. Stop hiding behind contractors who extort and insult your customers
To all potential customers considering DeWalt: don’t make the same mistake I did!
The quality of DeWalt tools has dropped significantly, and their so-called warranty is just a marketing gimmick used to pass you off to third-party contractors who do whatever they want with zero accountability.
I’m a professional with over 30 years of hands-on experience. I handle tools daily and can identify a defect by sound alone. I purchased the DCD703, used it once, and instantly noticed a manufacturing defect in the chuck – unstable and not holding correctly. I took photos before sending it, clearly showing it in almost brand-new condition.
I contacted DeWalt support, which turned out to be Stanley Black & Decker UK
They told me:
> “If it’s a manufacturing defect – it will be repaired under warranty. If it’s wear and tear – it will cost £51.59.”
I stayed home the entire day for the UPS collection, losing £250 in wages, fully trusting that the warranty would be respected.
And what did I receive in return?
A vague reply from some “technician” claiming the damage was “wear and tear from regular use”.
What use?! I used it once!
No report, no images, no proof. Just a demand for money.
If I refuse to pay – they want £25 + VAT because someone “looked at it”.
Looked at it for what – one minute? Or maybe didn’t even look at all?
This seems to be a standard extortion tactic.
What’s worse, some so-called “expert” – who likely has no real experience with tools – is trying to tell me, a professional, that I don’t know how much I’ve used my own tool.
Apparently, I imagined the whole thing, but he knows better — without ever having used it, heard it, or worked with it.
I formally urge DeWalt to take immediate action regarding warranty request (13104498)
and stop this disgraceful extortion by incompetent middlemen who are dragging your brand into the dirt.
DCMHT563N-XJ 18v Hedge Trimmer
Unable to leave a review on the Dewalt website, even after logging in.
Avoid the DCMHT563N-XJ cordless hedge trimmer. Its a total P.O.S.
Purchased to replace a cheap corded Titan hedge trimmer and I'm thoroughly disappointed. Any benefit brought about by it being cordless is completely overwhelmed by how useless it is at cutting. It snags, catches and sticks all the time, often requiring multiple passes to get a half decent result. It struggles on almost every shrub I've used it with, right from 4mm branches to 18mm. Its exhausting to use and has a poor design in my opinion. The top section where there isn't a cutting edge is particularly annoying. Other manufacturers place a triangular guide there to stop it snagging. The double teeth design means that branches get caught and not cut. I'm so disappointed, having been a huge Dewalt fan and owner of many power tools. I've offloaded this battery trimmer now and gone back to basics.
I purchased a DeWalt DCMPH566N-XE pole…
I purchased a DeWalt DCMPH566N-XE pole hedge trimmer it lasted ONE use. Returned to original supplier who issued a refund as they had no more stock. As all my tools are Dewalt and are excellent I figured it must have been an unlikely faulty tool. I then purchased the same tool from another supplier, this lasted TWO uses and broke with the same fault. The joint in the middle is just not strong enough to support the cutting end. The electrical connection in the joint shears off, leaving the tool useless. The tool is only two months old but unfortunately I didn’t use it in the 30 days the company gave to return it so it had to be repaired via Dewalt. Either Dewalt or the approved repairers have arranged for it to be collected via UPS on three separate occasions and UPS have never turned up once ( three days waiting in).
I am now left with a tool that cost just under £200 doesn’t work and isn’t collected. No one including Dewalt will offer a refund!
I have the smaller hedge trimmer and strimmer and they are excellent, cannot fault them. This product is useless and has now been discontinued.
