DeWalt Tool Quality and Warranties
I have purchased several tools from DeWalt, my palm sander started having issues after 6 months, their slogan is WE are DEWALT, and we are GUARANTEED TOUGH®, if they were guarranteed tough, they would have a better warranty than 90-day exchange, I now need to send my tool away and will be without it for several weeks. Should have done more research as I have spent a few thousand dollars on DeWalt tools and should have gone with Milwaukee. They have a better warranty. I am also waiting for DeWalt support to get back to me on another issue after sending them a few emails - no response as of yet. Depending on how they resolve my issues, I may be switching to Milwaukee, it sucks as I am heavily invested into their batteries and did not want to have batteries from two different manufacturers. So far not impressed.

Customer service at the York Pa location was amazing. Not sure who I spoke with but he was great and took care of my issue fast.
I have bled Black & Yellow for 40 years…
I have bled Black & Yellow for 40 years since it was Black & Decker and I Have 2 of father's all metal saws that still work.
However, for the first time, since Stanely's takeover, I have had to wait over 5 weeks for a part to ship from the Canadian warehouse to my local Service Center that normally has taken 7 - 10 days. Nothing against the staff at the SC but the warehouse keeps delaying the shipping of the parts needed. Are the parts in stock at the warehouse?, yes and I know this for a fact because I have an acquaintance at the warehouse who has confirmed the parts are in stock.
Because I have had to wait for the replacement parts for for 5 weeks I had to replace the planer with another brand. If the warehouse can't get their act together I will be forced to go to a different color for everything.
complete junk
I have no idea what has happened to this tool company but it seems to me like the black and decker quality may be working its way into production on the DeWalt line. We have 4 service vehicles and with 1 running DeWalt, 2 running Makita and 1 running Milwaukee. By far the truck running DeWalt gives far more requests for replacement tools as any of the others. Crazy part of that is it is the older truck and gets sent out on less calls. Rediculous. And with a price over any of there competetors they should be be a better product not a worse. For now I guess its time to switch the truck over and i got my doubts that even masterforce would fail as quickly as the DeWalt and Decker junk these guys are selling
Warranty Support via Email is a Sad Joke
End of June 2022 I contacted Dewalt warranty support via email about a 20V XR 1/2" Hogring Impact not having any torque. The tool was about a month old. After sending them the requested information they tell me the impact is out of stock and to contact back in 2-3 weeks. When I contact them back on July 18th, 2022. On July 21st customer service agent Manuel replies to tell me they are still out of stock and ask if I can use the pin-style anvil version instead of the hogring anvil that I have. I replied no, my guys need the hogring style. Nearly a month later on August 29th I recontact Dewalt support about fulfilling the warranty claim. On Sept 3rd customer service agent Analyn Olado replies saying they are still out of stock and again asks me if I can use the pin-style anvil version and again I reply no I can't. On Sept 7th Analyn Olado says item out of stock and to allow 2-3 weeks. On Oct 10th I recontact Dewalt warranty support telling them I still need the warranty replacement impact. On Oct 12th I receive a response from customer support agent Lyn who proceeds to tell me that the item I need replaced under warranty is now discontinued and they don't have a replacement for it. At this point I KNOW they are lying to me. Fed up and frustrated I called Dewalt for the first time to talk to customer support directly. I spoke to customer support agent Leny and told them about all the problems I've been having since June with trying to get an impact replaced. I told them about Lyn, and how I thought they were lying to me about the product. Within 20 minutes Leny confirmed the tool wasn't discontinued, was in stock, and processed the replacement order. Leny didn't seem very interested in all the customer support agents that had given me the runaround for almost 3 months. I've never had to process a warranty on a Dewalt tool and it hasn't been a pleasant experience so I thought I would share it.

Less than 2 months after I bought a "Men's Angle II PT Nylon Mesh ProLite Work Shoe" shoe, it already started to loosen the toe of the sole, and a few days later one of the feet is completely detaching the sole. Don't spend your money on this if you're looking for construction shoes that have quality and durability.
Only ok
Only ok. The new stuff is definitely not holding up as well as the older tools.
Such a shame to see the slide in quality. I guess that is just modern America.
DeWalt has become mediocre
DeWalt has come down a long way in my experience.
I have new DeWalt tools and old ones and the old ones still outlast the new, it's obvious they are using cheap parts and putting savings before quality, thats no secret amoung the tradies.
It's a shame.
Thier 305 mitre saw burns out, the 18v sds drill parts break inside, amoung poor build quality.
Yet we still are guilty of buying DeWalt when we know what they are like.

I bought a De Walt brushless strimmer DCM 61PBS.
Instructions were totally useless and I was unable to fit the guard. Had to return. All reviews on utube criticised instructions.
Probably a good machine but only if you can assemble it and get it working properly! I would not recommend.
'Computer says no' customer service
Bought a dcv584L vacuüm cleaner, which broke down in a year of only little use. Customer service is very stuck on 'the book', as soon as something is different then normal, all help stops. We don't live in the EU anymore, and now not only do I not get guaranty, but they don't even want to help me think about how I could solve the problem.
Really disappointed... Computer says no...
Not tough with appalling service
The product fell apart. When contacted support got the runabout for two weeks and then referred to a third party who was equally useless. Product returned and now using another brand.
wont buy again
have, HAD the hand power planer, after 10 mo. of minimal use it shreded the drive belt, ordered new one, tore it up in 2 seconds, sent back for repair or replace, no one answers phones, no one ever at call centers, raise your voice out of frustrations of being behind for MY customers and dewalt hangs up on you, no cussing just getting closer to phone, personally i`m done with dewalt, had 2 different stores that sells dewalt tell me they cant get help or a rep to come to store and terrible service for the stores that sells dewalts procucts. your choice but if this is how they are then they have got to big to care any more.
Resolved in the end
Initially Dewalt refused to extend the warranty for a product that I registered beyond 4 weeks from purchase because of a postal delay. Which I could demonstrate via the delivery note.
After complaining via several emails and two phone calls they eventually agreed.
So whilst they did the right thing in the end it was an unnecessarily frustrating experience on my part.
DeWalt is my tools
My father has used DeWalt for dozens years. I have been using DeWalt since I was a kid. I know you can face some troubles, but you can't find better tools than DeWalt.
Absolutely stay away from!!!
Absolutely stay away from!!!! Just because something sits on a shelf and a customer buys it doesnt mean you screw them Dewalt.Worse customer service I've ever encountered. Stay away from Dewalt!!!!
I bought a grinder with 3 years…
I bought a grinder with 3 years gurantee, after 1,5 years it stopped working. I asked for service but:
1- i cant have dirct contact with dewalt, only through shops and shops are not allowed to give me dewalt contacts
2- dewalt main office is not located in Holland, nor any email address, you have to call BELGIUM, but you get someone at the phone in Holland, they make it difficult...
3- for gurantee I got informed by the shop that dewalt says the problem is " motor....and not in the gurantee", and when I asked what do you mean by point point point, it can be anything, because if the motor is burned then you smell it, which it does not smell, if it is the components , then should be in the gurantee
At the end I could not do anything about it.
Dewalt gurantee is a joke. If they were honest, at least they would have made it possible to contact them.
If you want to buy dewalt search for service after sale and see if you can reach them.
If we are more aware, they cant cheat on us so much
Success

don't even know where to begin after a three month journey trying to get my by your company already approved refund. numerous emails and calls. useless to mention that I still haven't received the money Dewalt owes me. work on your customer service!
The polishing machine might be alright…
The polishing machine might be alright (I just bought it), but the product registration to get a 3 year warranty sucks!
They have you entering all sorts of information which you need to get from the machine, but trying to work it all out is very difficult, as there are so many possibilities depending on the machine you bought and the area where you live. DREADFUL! NO EXCUSE FOR THIS POOR EXPERIENCE IN THIS DAY AND AGE.
DeWalt.nl sucks!
DeWalt machines are great, but there service sucks bigtime! DeWalt NL (dewalt.nl) just doesn't respond to any contact requests.
DeWalt Edmonton sucks!
Just called in DeWalt Edmonton. My hammer drill is acting up and still under warranty. The guy never talked about anything which can help me in a rush to send me an authorized DeWalt repair guys so DeWalt Edmonton don't have to do anything!! And repair guys charge for what they fix... First time ever I called in and this is what I get. Garbage costumer service!!! Can't claim warranty
